  1. I agree with everyone!! It's a totally different mind set. I'm not STARVING and going for the huge portions. I mainly concentrate on getting my Protein in and feeling satisfied not stuffed. As soon as my sleeve talks I listen. I am almost 3 months post op and I have had two occasions, one early on and one about a month ago, where I felt even though my sleeve said stop, that I didn't eat enough, well my sleeve sure taught me a lesson. NEVERAGAIN!! I eat till I feel that fullness and I stop!! I went away this weekend with my Best friend for a girls weekend in Atlantic City, I ate a few things that I shouldn't have but I walked and walked and drank my Water and today I'm back on track and I still lost a pound while away. I still stayed on program for the most part, but I had a few sweets I normally wouldn't have had, but I had them in small portion and I did great!! oh and I finally had LOBSTER!! But that wasn't bad because it was all protein!! You will do great!! I have faith that if I can do this anyone can, because I used to eat till I was sick and now I don't and I've lost 51 pounds in 13 weeks (including my preop). Best of Luck!!

  11. This is very conflicting, as I went to the doctors yesterday and he told me three things to worry about...WATER, PROTEIN and EXERCISE, he told me not to stress over calories at all...he said Protein first and then veggies and then I really shouldn't have much room for anything else. I'm to eat 4-5 small meals a day!
  12. OKAY LADIES!!!! Thank you for all your imput!! I'm not even the topic starter but I will not be eating that 1/2 subway again for awhile!! I really feel guilty now!! I thought with the whole wheat, I was okay...but either way I'm putting it behind me and just gonna look forward and to more protein!!! Thanks again..I guess I was wrong thinking it was okay a couple times a week! or on the go!
  13. Yeah for me if I eat the half a turkey sandwich (1 slice of 100% whole wheat bread) or the 1/2 of six inch (3in) Subway (wheat bread) that is usually all the carbs I eat. I haven't even tried regular bread I'm afraid too! But this is usually a treat if I do have this or if I'm on the go!!
  14. Hey Mom, my surgery was 1 day after yours. I can only eat about half of the greek yogurt, but thats because I'm full. I am able to eat a half turkey sandwich on whole wheat, as well as a half of a 6 in. subway on wheat as well. When I eat those I feel guilty, (so not to often) but it's really not alot. I tried salad for the first time a few days ago and was only able to eat about 2 ounces of chicken and maybe a 1/4 cup of salad. At this stage I'm allowed to eat 1/2 cup. So thats where I try to stay if I feel full before, I don't finish the 1/2 cup. The tablespoon seems to little. My problem is finding time for exercise, which I need to start making a priority!!! I see the surgeon tomorrow so I hope I'm doing everything right. However, I don't write things down, but I may start just for my own good! Best of luck!
  15. I'm 6 weeks postop today too!! I had my first slice on Saturday, its was thin crust, mulit grain, cheese and tomato from UNO's..not greasy at all!! I ate it slow and when I felt the first full feeling I stop...I did okay with it..but won't be doing it regularly...
  16. @ re7777..yeah I think its weird too, but I'm the same as you its easy to take to work..@ Steven..thank you for that suggestion it sounds very yummy!! I've heard those bagal thins are not to bad to digest..and I'd also probably only be able to eat half..Thanks again everyone for your feedback..it is greatly appreciated!!
  17. Thanks Everyone, but the list I was given from my nut. says that I should be eating more solid things. I see everyone enjoying string cheese (love it) but didn't think I could eat it. Also cottage cheese is one of my favs to but again I'm told more solid things. Well I'm just going to see if I try other things like you guys are suggesting and if I lose then I wont worry about it, but if I don't then I'll worry and ask my nut. Thanks for the suggestions!!!
  18. Hi everyone!! I'm wondering what everyone eats for Breakfast. I'm on solids now for over a week, but I seem to be eating something that is a no on my list. I like eating the greek yogurt, but my nut. says that I should be eating something more solid. I'm not a breakfast eater and the Greek yogurt gives me the Protein I need. I can't eat eggs everyday and I love cold Cereal but again its a no on my list because of the sugar and carbs. Please if any of you have any suggestions, I would really appreciate it!! Thanks...:thankyou:
  19. WOW!! Everyone is taking Nexium 40 mg twice a day..I'm only on it once a day. WEIRD!!! I do have alot of gas too when I eat, and sometimes after dinner if its really bad I'll grad a tums..but I wonder if i'm not on enough Nexium..Good question for the doctor when I go next Thursday.
  20. I didn't have to do a diet prior to approval!! some insurances require 3-6 months nutritional counseling/Diet. But I was lucky and got approved after all the other preop appointments were accomplished! (2 months from initial seminar) Good luck on your new journey!!
  21. BOY!! I'VE BEEN FEELING THIS WAY TOO, NOT KNOWING FOR SURE WHAT THE SIGNAL IS AND I THINK LAST NIGHT I PUSHED MYSELF WAY TO FAR...I FELT SO SICK, FOR LIKE AN HOUR AFTER EATING IT WAS THE WORST FEELING EVER AND I WILL NEVER DO IT AGAIN!!! I FELT I WASNT EATING ENOUGH, SO I GOT THE REALLY GASSY FEELING AND SAID TO MYSELF A COUPLE MORE BITES AND I SHOULD BE GOOD...NOT TRUE!! I WAS MISERABLE!!! I WAS THINKING THIS GAS FEELING WASNT THE FULL FEELING BUT APPARTENTLY IT IS..LESSON LEARNED!!!
  22. WAY TO GO!!!! That is AWSOME!!! You are doing great and I hope I can do as well as you in the upcoming months!!! U GO GIRL!!!
  23. WOOHOO!!! Way to go!!! I can't wait to be there with you, but you'll be in a 6 by then!! LOL
