  1. Pre-Op Testing Weight (Highest) (7/12/11): 264 Surgery Day (7/20/11): 251 One month out: 231 Current Weight: 227 Goal Weight: 145 EWL: 30.5% I guess I haven't stalled (if a genuine stall is 14 days or more) but some weeks are definitely slower than others. Week 3 I gained .4 and week 6 I stayed the same... but those are the closest to stalls I've had.
  2. If you go on the Torani website, there is a store locator where you can type in your zip code and it gives you the closest locations that have them. I bought the raspberry and hazelnut about a week ago and haven't taken them out of the bag... they're not essential! (I'm 7 1/2 weeks out, btw) Hope this helps! Good luck with surgery on Monday!
  3. I record mine every two weeks. I was 7 weeks out yesterday and for weeks 0-2 I lost 6", weeks 2-4 I lost 7.5", and weeks 4-6 I lost 2.5". That's 16" in a month and a half! I think doing them every two weeks instead of monthly gives a little extra motivational boost because there's been times that the scale just won't move!
  4. So exciting!!! I can't wait until I can experience a single digit pant size!
  5. I agree - I don't think we should need to use any diet pills after surgery, especially if you are following the rules for success. It may speed up weight loss by taking them, but I'd imagine that would cause even saggier skin! I did take a few different types of diet pills before surgery - but I don't think it's a good idea now.. plus they made me feel horrible!
  6. How exciting! I can't wait til mine decides to show!
  7. http://www.verticalsleevetalk.com/topic/5906-a-huge-list-of-protein-drink-recipes/ There ya go! I made a creamsicle one from the list the other day and it was delish!
  8. Hey all! I'm down 33 pounds so far...things have been going a lot slower than I expected too. I lost 13 pre-op and 20 since surgery. I didn't lose anything this past week, and only 2.2 the week before...so..boo on that. 33 pounds down is about 27% of my excess weight lost. I'm still only getting about 6-7 cups of Water in a day because I am just SO SICK of drinking water, crystal light, mio, ect ect ect. I just have to get over that though, right? lol Protein wise - I usually hit my goal of 70 grams throughout the week but the weekends get me! Probably because I don't roll out of bed until noon! Oh - AND I got a gym membership this week! My goal is to go 3 times a week so I don't wear myself out...plus I'm not a person who enjoys exercise. lol Best wishes to all of you other July 20th sleevers!
  9. Good luck!!! We saved a spot on the loser's bench for you guys!
  10. Okay... I'll play! This is my first time doing this! SN..............Starting Wt........Current.......Goal.......Lbs to Goal LeahG...........264.....................231...........210...............21 If I hit goal that will put me down 54 pounds! Woohoo! That will be 3 months and 11 days out from surgery July 20th.
  11. I think it would be helpful for people to add what their excess weight loss (EWL) percentage was at that point - since everyone has different amounts to lose. I'm not quite 3 months yet - only 5 1/2 weeks out - but I'm down 33 pounds - or 27% of my excess weight.
  12. My surgeon told me to just let them fall off. After a couple weeks, the ends started to curl up so I just trimmed the ends off. At my 2 week appt (which was actually 2.5 weeks) my doc told me I could just take them off. They were pretty grody by that time lol.
  13. I'm the same way! When I get all of my water in, I'm still only going maybe twice a day. Before surgery, if I were to drink 64+ oz of water, I'd be running to the bathroom every half hour! I also would like to know where all that water is going?!
  14. LeahG replied to Kayla's topic in Food and Nutrition
I totally agree with Jimmy James - I don't like the fact that I don't know how much to put in there...and have to test it five times before I get the perfect amount. I'm already indecisive enough without having to measure my Mio!
  15. Just did some searching, it looks like levothyroxine interferes with a lot more than just Iron, calcium, and antacids... including birth control, antidepressants, and diabetes meds. Yikes! What may interact with this medicine? •amiodarone •antacids •anti-thyroid medicines •calcium supplements •carbamazepine •cholestyramine •colestipol •digoxin •female hormones, including contraceptive or birth control pills •iron supplements •ketamine •liquid nutrition products like Ensure •medicines for colds and breathing difficulties •medicines for diabetes •medicines for mental depression •medicines or herbals used to decrease weight or appetite •phenobarbital or other barbiturate medications •phenytoin •prednisone or other corticosteroids •rifabutin •rifampin •soy isoflavones •sucralfate •theophylline •warfarin
  16. Well, crap. I've been taking my thyroid meds with my antacid too! Good to know!
  17. I checked our insurance and the only thing that was charged from my hospital was a bill for $6,639. I was expecting it to be A LOT higher than that.
  18. I find it very hard to reach my Protein goal without a Protein Drink. I love the Premier Nutrition chocolate Protein drinks... they taste like chocolate milk. food wise, I have been sticking to lots of chicken and cheese. Chicken salad, chicken with gravy, bbq chicken (just watch the sugar). I've heard that a lot of people like the Caramelized Onion Chicken Burgers from costco....I think they have around 17 grams of protein. I keep track of my daily food intake using myfitnesspal.com. If you add me as a friend on there, you can see my daily diary of what I'm eating! My username is lgerweck.
  19. Every day I take two Flintstone's Complete, B12 500mg, Biotin 5000mg, thyroid meds and my PPI. At this point, I'm not taking any calcium but I think my nutritionist said they would do labs at six weeks out to check if I needed to be on a calcium supplement.
  20. I definitely gain weight the week before the TOM...and it seems to be holding on to my body as long as it can! lol. I haven't lost any weight since about a week and a half out of surgery and even gained .4 last week...which I'm attributing to the Water weight. I'm hoping as soon as I start the weight will begin dropping again, but we'll see! I think the surgery definitely messed with my system too because I was supposed to start 4 days ago. I'd love to hear from people who are a bit further out than us to know what we should expect!
  21. YAYYY! I'm SO excited for you! It's going to be here sooner than you think!
  22. Hi all! I had my surgery July 20th and will be 3 weeks out on Wednesday. I've been doing pretty well with my Protein intake (70 grams daily) but am still struggling to get all 64 oz. of Water in a day. I've been completely stalled since a couple days after week one and have even gained the 2 pounds back I lost in week two. I think there's a lot of factors contributing to my stall including my period, constipation, and of course just the shock of surgery. My two week post-op appointment was today and they said I was doing very well and just to add a Fiber supplement in daily and to start exercising. Trying to stay optimistic! Pre-Op testing: 264 Day of Surgery: 251 Week 1: 240.2 Week 2: 238.4 I also did my measurements on week 2 and have lost 6 inches. Not too shabby!

  24. I'm only two weeks out so I can't really let you know either way...but I'm in a 10W or an 11. I'm sure hoping they shrink!!!
  25. The thing I loved having most was face wipes. Ya know, like the Neutrogena make-up removing wipes? I felt so gross after surgery and it was nice to be able to freshen up a little. The only other things I really needed were my pillow, chap stick, clean undies, a couple of magazines, and my toothbrush/toothpaste (even though the hospital provided that). And of course my iPhone, because I can't live without it.
