Almost 9 months out ...
You look incredible. I am shaped very similar to your before pics. I can only hope to look like that in 10 months from now. Side note I am glad to see that the lovely flabby underarms can look normal after weight loss. That is one of my fears, that I will have horrible loose skin on my arms and thighs. Congrats and thanks for sharing!!! Lisa

Omg support from my dad
- Omg support from my dad
My date is Dec 1st. I only have a 3 day pre op diet. I have a feeling time is going to fly by.- Omg support from my dad
They called me earlier today to set my date and I set it for Jan 19th. They wanted to do it next month. I am going to call first thing in the morning to schedule asap. Scared and excited. I seriously thought my dad would be completely against the surgery. He is the type that thinks if you just change your diet, you will lose the weight. I explained why I wanted to do it and all the research I have done and he said he understood. That is a miracle in itself.- Aetna Aetna Aetna
Congrats!!! Congrats!!! So excited for you- Omg support from my dad
So I had planned not to have surgery until next year so that I could put money away for my deductible and my 20 %. I had decided not to tell my dad because I didn't think he would be supportive. I decided to tell him today. He said that he would give me the money for the surgery and to do it asap. Omg I will get to have the surgery this year!!!- Aetna Aetna Aetna
I was approved within 48 hours after submitting paperwork to Aetna. I assumed for inpatient, but I will have to double check on that now. Didn't know that was even a possible issue. I just called Aetna and verified. I am approved for inpatient. Currently I am approved for 1 day, the hospital would just need to call at time of service to get extended to 2 days. They said it was not a big deal.- Strange question
Is anybody else worry about what weight loss is going to do to their marriage? I have a pretty solid marriage now, but I'm not sure if is going to be able to handle other people paying more attention to me.- If you got pregnant within a year of getting a sleeve, what gender did you have?
There are also theories on what day of your cycle that you get pregnant determines the sex. Male sperm are fast swimmers and get there first, but die soon. Female sperm swim slower but live longer. I got pregnant with both of my kids on day 13 and both are girls. My sil has 3 girls getting pregnant on day 13. I have another friend that swears by the Chinese calendar. It's all fun to think about, but you love what you get no matter what. Isn't trying suppose to be the best part anyway : )- Aetna 3 month supervised exercise regimen
Honestly the first meeting with the nutritionist will start your 90 days. Start the exercise part the same week that you see the nut. Also get your dr office to right a note stating what your weight was in 2008, 2009 and 2010. Aetna will require 2 years weight history. My dr office said that I was a patient and my weight 03/08 was 243 and my weight 04/09 was 247. I was approved within 48 hours of the paperwork being submitted. I saw the nutritionist 3 times and had to call with my last weight at the end of the third month. Logged my food 3 to days a week on the website they gave me to use. I saw the physical therapist 3 times and had to log my exercise Pysch eval Depending on surgeon you may have to do other testing. I had to do a pulmonary test because I smoke. Some require EKG and a endonoscopy. Depends on surgeon. I was worried the whole time if I was doing it correctly, but I was approved without any issues.- Aetna 3 month supervised exercise regimen
They are making you go to their facility to work out? I only had to meet with them once a month and log my exercise. I met with the dietician and physical therapist on the same day for 3 months. It sounds like the place you are going through is different from what I did. Have you seen the dietician yet?- Aetna 3 month supervised exercise regimen
I just got approved thru aetna today. I had to meet with a physical therapist three times. She had me log exercise 3 times a week for the 3 months. I had to walk 20-30 minutes 3 days a week. My surgeons office set me up with the dietician and physical therapist. I hope this helps. If you have any other questions let me know. I was confused at first.- I should be so happy right now ?????
I just got approved today and I have so many emotions. I have used food as my escape for do many years. I have hid from the world under these layers of fat. And let's not forget the fear of failure. I keep reminding myself, that I have tried this on my own for years. Lose weight then gain it back. We finally have a tool that is going to help us win the fight against food and ourselves for that matter. I think it is only natural to grieve the loss of our favorite comfort foods. I know that I want to be a fun mom and be able to do things that I have avoided for years. I want to be able to shop in normal stores. I want to be happy when I look in the mirror.- 5 days post surgery and feeling...
Stupid ? , but where did you have a drain and staples?- ? bcbs of ma letter
Look at the insurance and financing board. There are several people that have links to their appeals- January 2011 that's so far away
I am hoping for Jan 2011 too. I will hopefully get my approval this week. I am waiting till 2011 so I can use my FSA to pay my deductible and the 20%. It will be here before we know it. I am also trying not to lose or gain. My bmi is right at 40. I don't want to risk getting denied because I dropped below. We have made the decision and we have something to be hopeful of now. For the first time in a long time I am excited.- Thoughts
I was happy to find out that I was only 5'5". That put my bmi at 40.2. I always thought I was 5'6", but it worked in my favor. Now I don't have to deal with the co-morbidities for insurance. Maybe we will get our inch back after losing the weight and being able to stand tall with our new found confidence!!!- Frustrated!!!
Definitely check the thyroid. My dietician said to watch the excersise. You can start gaining weight from muscle if you go too hardcore. Also drink lots of water and watch the sodium intake. I gained 4 lbs between my first and second visit, but ended up losing by the end. Good luck.- Waiting game...
I am waiting too. I have been waiting almost 2 weeks for the office to submit to Aetna. I heard they approve quickly. It took my friend 4 days to get approved. Call aetna and make sure they have everything. Hopefully you will get your APPROVAL soon.- God, grant me patience...
Congrats!!! That is just around the corner.- The Husband
It sounds like insecurity. I know my hubby is afraid that I will not want to be with him after I lose the weight. I don't think people that have never struggled with their weight understand that we do not choose to be overweight. Only 2% of people that are obese can lose the weight and maintain it. That is why wls is our only choice to be healthy. We have all lost the weight and then put it back on. He needs to be a part of the solution not the problem. I am sure the more he puts you down the more you want to eat. Do this for you, if he is not on board may be you are better off without him. Everything happens for a reason. Everyone here will give you the support you need. If you need anything just ask. This is an incredible board and we are lucky to be here- The Husband

Have you done a sleep study? A lot of people have sleep apnea and do not know it. I think it is crazy that the insurance companies want you to be sick before they will do anything. What happen to prevention? Good luck with your appeal. Maybe your surgeon's office will be able to help you. They deal with this every day.- God, grant me patience...
I finished all my pre recs on 10/1. I called my surgeon's office today to see when everything had been filed and they told me they hadn't received the dietician's report yet. I had spoke to her last Monday and she was suppose to give it to them that day. I called her this morning and she apologized and said she had been really busy and would take it to them right now. They are in the same medical building. I know your frustration. I have decided to wait until the beginning of next year, but still want my approval and to get it scheduled so I can request off of work. Patience is a virtue that I have always struggled with. I know it will be here soon enough, but I want to know now so that I can plan.- Quitting smoking
I have finished my 3 month multi discipline needed for insurance. I didn't want to quit during that because I couldn't afford the weight gain that I always get when I quit. I am starting vacation next week so I figured it would be the ideal time to quit. I am also going to give up my pepsi which is my true love in life. Wish me luck and hopefully I won't bite anyone's head off this week. Lol - Omg support from my dad
