Stall??'s
This is EXACTLY how I felt and what I was thinking last night! Feeling scared I spent more money then I have to my name on a surgery to loose 20lbs. I am struggling to get in enough Protein each day. Yesterday I made it to 50g and that was the most I have gotten in yet. I am 2 weeks post op. I can only drink so many Protein shakes a day and my food options are still rather limited. ARGH!

Itching!!
I got 2 levels of itching going on over here. Both incision sites itch but I also discovered I seem to have some skin allergy to the medical tape the hospital used to AROUND the incision sites is itchy with a slight rash from the tape. They even switched me to the kind of tape for people allergic to the other kind but then before I left they put these water proof band aids over them so I could shower and those have caused a little itchy rash where the adhesive was stuck to me. ARGH! Haha. They game me this ointment for the scars tho when I put it on it stings a bit....not right away but a little later on. Weird. Is that normal? Haha!

Food Fear
I'm 10 days out as well and into the thick liquid, etc... phase. I was excited to add yogurt and milk to my mix but the last 2 days my stomach gets really upset. I don't know if it's b/c I'm adding food OR because my body currently doesn't like the dairy products. It liked them just fine before and it would make no sense for it to like it now. It better start liking them soon. I do not want to loose yogurt and have to start drinking soy milk. I can't wait to get to real food though this also scares me! However I welcome feeling full...this liquid/mushy phase I honestly can't tell if I'm really full or not. Maybe that sounds stupid but my head isn't getting a message from my stomach. I stop eating so I don't throw up but I still feel a little hungry.

Naps, and the lack thereof
Can't wait till I'm all healed up and am out the "right of operation" phase and go without naps. I never really napped before but right now being 5 days post op I slept till Noon today and feel like I could nap right now. Want...energy....now. Haha. Congrats on your renewed energy GoKart!!

Few days out
Hello recent sleevers! My surgery was Tuesday. I came home from the hospital on Friday. I have been feeling kind of restless. I am tired of lounging around watching TV. I suck at relaxing I think. I want to go out and do things but I know I need to rest and I will get really tired. We might go out to the movies tonight. I just want to get out of the house. I can't wait till I sleep on my stomach again. I am so not a back sleeper. Last night I tried sleeping on my side and tucked my blanket or a throw pillow under my tummy to kind of cushion it. That was better then the previous 3 nights I spent sleeping on my back. Each day I feel a little better. Will be happy when I'm off clear liquid and onto regular liquid and can get some more variety. Tiring quickly of water, tea, etc.... I have 2 inscion sites and the one in my belly button is still tender but my 2nd one (the smaller) is feeling better already.

when will I return to work?
I'm a teacher and I'm only taking a week off of work. My surgeon said that was more then enough time to be back at work.

Here I go!
Same with me actually. I have been under anesthesia 2-3 other times and I have never woken up with the NG tube still in- but I guess here in Taiwan they want to make sure you can fully breathe on your own and are free of anesthesia before they de-tube you (that's what I was told). I think I only had it in for about 30 mins (from what my boyfriend told me...as I was rather out of it LOL). I felt lucky as they told me the day before with all my pre-op testing it could be in for several hours up to thru the whole night. Bu I will say it was the most unpleasant part of this whole experience thus far. Today I got to start drinking Water in SMALL sips!!! And tomorrow and I get to have some ORANGE flavor formula drink. Prob gross but the thought of flavor has me so excited! Getting broths and moving up to Soups next week sounds so exciting right now. Haha. I'm so happy and it's done and Im recovering and on my way to a smaller and healthier me!!! This is going to rock!!

Here I go!
Well here I am 2 days post op! Feeling a little sore but each day hurts less and less. I should be discharged tomorrow. All and all it went smoothly. Nerves didn't hit me till they were wheeling me into the OR and telling me to get onto the surgery table...then all the nerves hit me at once like a ton of bricks. But the nurses and my surgeon were awesome and calmed me down before they knocked me out. The worst part was waking up from the anesthesia- had a breathing tube down my throat and a tube down my nose both of which caused me much discomfort but were removed pretty quickly post op. But overall feeling not to bad- the worst pain is from the gas they filled me up with. That gas pressure in my chest comes and goes in sharp pains. But will hopefully pass it all out soon.

Here I go!
Thanks everyone! I'm here in the hospital. Had some tests today (EKG, some breathing lung test, electrical cardiogram (?)). Met with some different doctors. Tonight is sleep apnea test and tomorrow morning starts the real adventure! Ready to just get this going! Good luck to the other sleevers this week!!

Here I go!
So I'm about to leave for the hospital. I check in this AM and do pre-op tests all day and a sleep apnea test tonight then surgery tomorrow afternoon! I wasn't nervous at all really up till last night then it started to slowly creep up on me. Why are they doing a sleep apnea test the night before?! How am I supposed to sleep with these nerves running thru and wires stuck to my head? Haha!:lol0: Well here goes nothing...off I go! See you all on the losers bench real soon!:thumbup1:

A million last meals
I'm glad this is just not me. I'm not eating out control (I don't think). But I am not being as good as I should be a week before operation (tho I don't have a pre-op diet). But I feel like I'm a farewell to food tour with my stomach. One last hurrah! Trying to get my fav things I know I won't be able to have post op. Trying to be good during the week but on Saturday I kind of let it go. I had a burger and fries for lunch yesterday felt super full after then felt like crap about myself for having eaten it. A week from right now and I will be sleeved...CAN'T WAIT!!!!

September sleevers wanted!
My sleeve is the 21st too and my surgeon told me I didn't need to do a pre-op diet (which really surprised me as I'm what we would call a heavy weight on here). I feel I am cheating by not having a pre-op diet. I have been slowly cutting things out the past few weeks (I replaced sweets with lowfat/nonfat yogurt for my snack at work, etc...) and try to stay as full as I can on water/liquids. I'm concerned that I have acquired a cold over the past week and am still feeling it a little bit. Really hoping this doesn't screw up my surgery next week.

dance workout video/DVD recommendation
I have one I don't recommend. I tried 2 of the Carmen Electra Aerobic Strip Tease DVD's before. I thought that would be fun dancing to get my heart rate up but they moved kind of slow and I didn't feel I got much cardio from them. Maybe it was just me but I don't recommend those. Not dancing but I like the Biggest Loser DVD's- weight loss yoga and boot camp kick my butt what I bust those out (especially after not doing them for a while!)

What to bring what to buy?
My surgery is in a week and I am also curious what I need to take with me. I'm going to be in the hospital for about 5-6 days- I feel like I'm going on vacation. Haha. I've been trying to stock up on small food containers for storing portioned sized left overs and chewable vitamins and a blender and all that good stuff. But I have this constant nagging feeling in the back of my mind that I'm forgetting something. And knowing my luck it will be something important.

18 hours post op - photos
I appreciate the pics of what I can expect in 10 days! The way my surgeon talks I feel like I am going to be hooked up like Frankensteins Monster! :scared0: Hopefully my imagination is just getting the best of me. I can deal with the amount of tubing you had/have! Good luck on your recovery and enjoy your sleeve!
