Tummy Tuck...have You Had One?
I've been thinking a lot about it and I think I'll have my tummy done because it's really a must. I can't do some exercises because of it, it hangs down below my pubic bone (gross eh?) and I have to wear a binder year round. As for my boobs even though the filling is mostly gone just the amount of skin pulls on my shoulders and they really bother me. My arms and legs do too but I can't just get a loan for an absurd amount of money. My kids are 4 and 7 and will be in college in 10-12 years. I haven't saved a penny for their college not to mention they have never been on a real vacation. I feel selfish for getting everything done so I think I'll stick with breasts and tummy and just deal with the rest. I should have that paid off (with the rest of my vsg) in probably 4 years.

Blood Clot - Cumadin Question
I had a blood clot in 03 after an ankle fracture. I do NOT remember a big amount of weight gain however I believe that cumadin will have you hold onto water more so it's probably just water weight. Don't sweat it. You won't be on it that long I'm sure.

Two Years Out And Finally Getting Plastics
Thanks for the update. I'm deciding on what all to get and who to do what right now. I'd love to know who your Dr is and if you have any before and afters especially of your arms/tummy I'd love to see. Thanks for the info!

What Size Am I!?
Oh and btw, I've missed you!!

What Size Am I!?
Gap tends to run truer to size while old navy and eddie bauer are bigger or vanity sizing. The other thing is the style. People who wear EB traditionally don't wear tight clothes where as many dudes who shop at Gap do the whole skinny jean/fitted shirts. So it is made to fit tight. I'd say it's more the style than the brand and to try penny's or belks for some nice fitting clothes where you can choose from a range of designers/styles.

Tummy Tuck...have You Had One?
Eek guys. I have a way to get plastics financed with low interest. Should I do it? It would take all the extra money I have for probably the next 6 years and that means no vacation for my little ones I HAVE to get a tummy tuck and my breast are so deflated it's sad. My arms and thighs are pretty bad too. I can't believe this could be a reality. That and I'm scared : /

Failed Almanza Sleeve
If they didn't remove enough of the stomach to give you the proper amount of restriction they can resleeve you. A doctor I spoke with in Nashville said that after he had his first leak he started making his sleeves bigger but then saw that patients were only losing 1/2 of their expected weight loss and went back to a tighter sleeve. Good luck Vickie. Dr Aceves does great band to sleeve revisions and he's an excellent surgeon. Almost everyone I know has lost all of their excess weight with his sleeves and no leaks.

A Few Years Out

A Few Years Out
You are looking so good! I'm a year and 4 months out today I don't count calories at all and when I really want to lose I do low carb but everyday I probably have a "slip up" according to most people. Just to give you an idea here's what I ate today: coffee with 1tbs sugar (it's actually 2tbs sugar mix but the same calories as 1) about 3x a day Breakfast 1 egg, 1 bacon 1/2 a piece of toast with butter 1 6oz milk whole 2 handfulls of chips 1 and 1/2 slices of pizza (chicken tomatoes) and later i'll have a small piece of poundcake with strawberries on top. 1 piece of beef Jerky

Any People With Gastric Sleeve Leaks?
You could get leaks as you see. Choosing a good surgeon, following your post op diet make this less of a chance but really it can happen to anyone. Reflux. I'd say everyone has reflux until your stomach's swelling goes down. I did until about a year post op. Dizziness/rapid heartbeat. I don't know why this is but I've had several bouts of getting very tired, my heartrate accelerating, and just feeling horrible. It's not happened much recently but usually it was after a big meal or a meal with a lot of sugar. I've been on the board nearly 2 years and I've never heard anything about seizures.

Confused And Depressed -- I Don't Want To Regret This!
First off let me say it's so worth it! Second you are on a liquid diet. Research and see what else you can have other than the shakes. I HATE shakes except for the Premier Protien shakes from costco or sam's or their website. Chicken broth, any broth strained from soups, tomato soup, cheese soup should all be fine. Juices, smoothies (after 2 weeks) made with real fruit and a touch of real sugar helped me through. After 2 weeks yogurt, applesauce (anythign you can drink through a straw and isn't chunky). Now I know these aren't your doctors orders, they were my doctors orders but it is up to YOU. My doctor has a great record w/o leaks and is very experienced. His plan is much more reserved than a lot of doctors on here. You will hear this "Do what your doctor said, if you didn't trust your doctor why did you pick him" blah blah blah on here. My take is you do your own research, listen to your body and do what's best for you. The idea that one surgeon knows everything (and you happened to pick the know it all) is crazy. Good luck, keep your head up, and dude....it feels so freaking fantastic at the finish line!

Affordable Surgery In U.s.
Check out Texas, when I was researching several of the Drs around the area said they had to compete with Mx prices so theirs were lower. If I were you i'd spend my efforts on getting hubby behind you going to Dr Aceves. Best bang for your buck.

Vagina Question!
Same thing happens to me. I wonder if it's because I rarely took baths before or because we have actually lost weight in our vagina as well leaving more room for water to go....scary thought eh?

Has anyone had plastic surgery in Mexico?
Do you have any before afters or do you post on the OH board? I keep up on the before/afters over there.

Has anyone had plastic surgery in Mexico?
Tell you surgeon that you want to nurse your baby in the future and they will try to do everything they can to keep the milk ducts intact. A good friend of mine had breast reduction surgery and she was able to nurse her baby 2 years later with no problems except the baby had a strong preference for the right over the left. She guessed there was more milk out of that one for some reason.

New Here And ... Very Upset!
My insurance didn't cover WLS either but let me tell you after my experience with Dr Aceves in Mexico (only 5 minutes across the boarder in a private hospital) I'd send any of my family back to MX even if my insurance did cover it. My friend here in my same town had a Dr do her sleeve in July, I had mine in October. I'm down 120lbs she's down 60 and when we compare stories my hospital was much cleaner and my surgeon much more experienced. I promise if you research Dr Aceves over any other doctor you will go to him hands down.
