Congradulations! That sure sounds like a good job, I love the work schedule!
  2. I have read where people have been rebanded if the erosion hasn't been bad, however if it was bad then they can never have a band again. There are several people on some of the other boards that had erosion and have been rebanded. Again, I have only read this about other people's experience with the band.
  3. Tony - What a great post! Thank you! Everyone has said just about what I was going to say, so I will just add that it is true that almost everyone goes through a lot of emotions not only deciding to have the surgery but actually having the surgery too. I spent a couple of years fighting having WLS, always thinking I could do it myelf. I don't know why I thought that as everytime I would lose a lot of weight, I would only put it back on with more on top of it. If I had know how much better my life was going to be with the band, I certainly would have had the surgery sooner. You are the only one that can make the decision if the surgery is right for you, but you need to do it for yourself, and not for someone else. It is a big stip to take, and it isn't the easy way out, but it is a great way to help yourself if you are ready to take that step. Good Luck, and please let us know what you decide to do.
  4. Welcome! We have several bansters that used Dr. Ortiz and have been very happy with him. It is a good idea to have a doctor here in the US for emergencies. How close do you live to Mexico? I love my band, and yes, I would do it again! It has been worth every penny of what I spent for it. Browse through some of the old and new posts and you will learn lots of valuable information. Good luck and please keep us posted!
  5. Good luck to both of you!
  6. Marie - Just checking to see how are you legs doing now? Have you gotten any more pain with them?
  7. Thanks Bill, I am happy to hear she got a new band like she wanted. Tell her we are tinking about her!
  8. Geat job! It always tastes so good to get some of that regular food!
  9. Beautiful family! Have a safe trip and lots of fun!
  10. Marie - Glad to hear you are healing up good! It certainly sounded like it would be painful. (or, maybe you are just a tough gal)
  11. Congradulations! You have done a great job with your WL! You should be very proud!
  12. Welcome and good luck with your surgery! Please post and let us know how you did!
  13. What a great NSV! That is fantastic!
  14. Yeah, I can eat too good! lol I just find it amazing that there is such a difference in the fill levels and the restrictions. Thanks Kelly for the info.
  15. Isn't it strange how different levels of fill affect people. I am at 2.25 and have no restriction to speak of, and you look so tight! What is the most fill you have ever had Kelly?
  16. Thanks Kelly, those are great pictures!
  17. Welcome and congradulations on your band. Please tell us about yourself!
  18. Maria - Welcome! Good Luck with your surgery! You have to remember there are so many people that are banded, and usually the ones you read about are the problem ones. Everyone doesn't post about all the good with the band. So it is natural that you will read more about the problems. I am glad you aren't letting that influence your decission. The band is great and you won't find many people that would be willing to give it up after they get it. Are you being banded in the US or somewhere else? Please keep us posted on your progress!
  19. Roxanna - I am so sorry to hear about your father. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. You are doing great with your band! You certainly have a lot of stress going on right now, so please remember to take care of yourself too!
  20. Good Luck and please post and let us know how you are doing when you get back!
  21. How was the crawfish Easter Sunday? Paula - You really had to bring up crawfish didn't you? Now I won't be happy till I get some!
  22. I have never had a fill under fluoro, and my Doctor has always hit my port the first time every time. No problems whatsoever! I do believe most Mexican Doctors do more of a fill in the beginning than US Doctors.
  23. If you are not following the banster rules of eating your protein first, then veggies, etc. you won't feel full and the band won't work for you. If you are consuming liquids over protein, it is not working properly. I think I would get back to the basics, eat properly for a couple of weeks, and if you are losing then you don't need a fill. If you aren't losing eating the proper way, then you need a fill. Fills are not going to work unless you are eating properly. Your band is just a tool to help you, without you working with it, it won't work as it is supposed to.
  24. Daisy - For one thing, you don't have a fill so you are wide open at the time. It is almost like you were never banded. Things should get better after you get your fill. I do know a few bansters that have a sweet everyday, they just count it in their total allowed calories for that day.
  25. Mine doesn't stick out, but if I try to feel it I can.
