  1. The band has been great for me, and I would do it again in a second! I am just sorry I didn't have it done sooner!
  2. Welcome Dianne! Don't worry we all felt that way I think! I still eat everything I did before banding, I just gave up bread, etc. because of the extra calories. It really is worth giving up a few things to lose the weight!
  3. Terri - I gained 8 pounds when I had surgery, they teased me about coming in for surgery and they were putting weight on me! It is from the IV's etc. so don't worry, in a few days it will be gone! Welcome to bandland!
  4. Welcome! We have a lot of information on this board, take some time and read through some of the older posts as well as the new ones. I would say we pretty much cover almost any subject/question you might have and then some!

I can do things that don't focus around food, and I can actually go shopping and not think I need to stop and get something to hold me over! I don't run every time someone comes out with the camera anymore. I look people in the eyes now instead of looking at the ground. I smile a lot now too!

Hi Jim! Welcome to LBT! There is a lot of information here just for the reading/asking. Good luck with your surgery! Keep us posted!
  10. Try eating without the bread, bread is a no-no for most bansters. Try eating solid foods/veggies. Usually the first week after a fill I am a little swollen, so that might be your problem too. As long as you can drink water and eat some mushy things, I would wait a few days and see what happens, but if you can't do that then I would check with your doctor.
  11. Welcome to LBT, and good luck!
  12. You have the face to wear it either way! You look beautiful both ways, and that DH is good looking too!
  13. I am beginning to see more and more movie stars that have lost so much weight that they are looking sick/bad. What is going on? I mean, thin is in, but they are sickly thin. Does anyone else notice this and how do you think they look? I also think they are sitting a really bad example for the younger children.
  14. Glad to hear it is over and done with. Now we can all keep you in our prayers that everything will be fine. Get some well deserved rest!
  15. Tears????? Oh no, please don't cry! I was looking at your pictures thinking you must be the ball of the party! Now, dry up those tears and put that beautiful smile right back on your face! By the way, I like the first one!
  16. I can't agree more! I am sure most people on here will tell you the same thing. Please take everyone's advice and call your doctor.
  17. Good luck Lisa! I hope he can help out your port situation! I am sure you and Penni will have a ball!
  18. What is everyone doing over the long weekend? We are going up to the lake with the rest of the family and some friends. We have cabins rented on the lake. We have some speed boats, pantoon boats, bass fishing boats, and some ski-doos. I am a little scared about all the food/drinks that will be there, my family really does love to eat/drink. So, I am going to really have to watch myself! We have lots of good cooks in this family! But I do intend on having a good time!
  19. Welcome to LBT! There is a lot of information here just for taking the time to read it. If you have a question, you can use the search button at the top of the page, or ask and someone will be happy to answer your questions.
  20. Good luck! You'll look like a different person with all that done! Be sure and post some pictures of the before and after when you get back.
  21. Me either! My doctor checks mine every time I go and the full amount is always in there.
  22. Welcome to LBT! Congrats on your surgery date! Please remember to come and post when you get back and let us know how you did.
  23. Michelle - I have felt the same way lately reading some of the posts. I would call my doctor immediately if my band was too tight! Why would anyone want to take a chance of losing their band? I also want to eat like a normal person, not be sick all the time. Just because your band is tight and you can't eat doesn't mean you will lose more weight. Your body will think it is starving and hold on to it, or gain it back as soon as you can eat. People you need to eat normal, only smaller portions! My doctor always tells me each time I get a fill, if you pb call me, it you throw up come in! It is very important to take care of your band, and that means not being overfilled!
  24. Congrats to you! I know you are very excited! It will be here before you know it!
