  1. I had to have a few fills before I had any restriction. You do need to take it slowly though as some fills won't kick in for 2-3 weeks. I waited 6 weeks between fills.
  2. Welcome to bandland! Let us know how you are doing when you can.

Welcome back! Sorry the job didn't work out, but I am sure the right one is just around the corner.
  4. Awsome job! Congrats to you!
  5. Great job Sue! Glad you are doing so well. I too would like to hear more, please tell us!
  6. Up until the holidays, I exercised at least 5 days a week. It's time for me to get back at it, I can really tell a difference without it.
  7. That is why I keep giving them away! :)
  8. Welcome to bandland! Glad you feel so good!
  9. Whoooo Hooooo! Michelle, I am so proud of you! I know if anyone can do this, you can. Going through the holidays was the toughest part! You rock!
  10. I am glad you went and had that fill taken out, sounds like you were almost closed off entirely! Hopefully that is the only problem and it will heal up now that the fill is out. My thoughts and prayers are with you, as always. Please keep up posted. I am sure you will be fine for a couple of weeks. Your band will be waiting for you when you are ready again, good for us huh? I guess with all the problems everyone has had lately, I would go ahead and have the test if nothing else to make you feel better. Tell your sister-in-law we are thinking about her as well, and sending prayers to her too! Did your DB ever get approved for it? If I recall, he wanted to have it done too. Don't stay away for so long, some of us older bansters need our big sister bandsters help too! :) Good Luck!
  11. Glad everything went fine! Tell her "Welcome to bandland".
  12. I'm not having that problem, you might want to pm Alex on it.
  13. Congrats! I am very happy for you! :)
  14. I read it and it is a good book. I think it is more interesting for people pre-band than post-band though. Usually by the time you have been banded, you pretty much know most of what is in it.
  15. I think it took me about 4 weeks, maybe a little less from the time I called till I had surgery. I was a self pay, so I got in pretty fast.
  16. Hi Y'all! Had to go over and do billing this morning, then this afternoon I am just doing odd jobs. This is the first year I am sick of looking at Christmas stuff and want to get it down and put away! I am doing a little at a time in the house, I don't take the tree down till after New Year's. My Mom always said it was bad luck to take it down before then, so I don't! Zan - Glad to hear your DM is doing better. It's had dealing with that, but it's worth it in the end. Take care of yourself too! Cindy - That is cool that your DD has had a pedicure already. I just had my first one ever this year! :) Beanie - We'd probably both win, they would be both so good nobody could make up their mind! :) Isn't it funny how just something like a fruit salad can make people so happy! Patty - Glad you got to your Mom's. Have fun! Pat - How is that new GB? He is so precious! Eileen - Lazy day huh? I love lazy days! I went over to DB house today, I took them some more cookies! You should have seen his face when I brought in more! I told him he could probably freeze them as they were fresh and hadn't been frozen. I still have a ton of them here!
  17. It happens to me a lot too! I just wait for a few minutes, and then I am able to continue to eat.
  18. So, Trish, how are you doing now? Hope you are feeling much better!
  19. Are you eating solid food, protein first? If you are eating soft foods, they won't keep you full as long as solids. Make sure you are following the rules, protein, veggies, carbs if room. Drink lots of water, and get some exercise in.
  20. I have tried so many different diets, and the same thing happens, I lose a ton but gain it back the minute I quit the diet. I would think that would happen with the two things you are researching too. If you aren't sure if the band is for you, by all means wait! The band is major surgery, and nothing to be taken lightly. Please, read everything you can on what ever you decide to do! Good Luck!
  21. Don't give up! It took me a lot of fills before I got restriction. I know we want to lose all our weight like yesterday, but slow is much better for you. Remember that you will have times you lose inches not pounds too!
  22. Sherrie I eat steak often. Don't be afraid to try things, your band will let you know if you can't eat it. Just take small bites and chew good!
  23. Happy Birthday! Hope you have a great one!
