Sorry I thought I came back and updated. They found a sore in my throat that is likely from the initial surgery that is taking a while to heal ( I'd say due to me vomitting daily) and I also had food stuck in my throat They cleaned all that out and I don't have the reflex to be sick anymore. I still feel sick in my tummy, but I think that might be due to being hungry so I am trying to up my intake again.

I think that you just peel the lychees and eat them like grapes?

I had mine today: Hi guys just checking in and updating how I went today. Had my endoscopy. He said there is a scratch in my throat that is healing, and there was food lodged in my throat, which he cleaned out. Asked me if I had eaten a passionfruit recently, I had kiwi fruit yesterday :thumbup1: So he could see where that had lodged! So After cleaning me out it feels soother, I don't feel like I need to be sick now, so obviously it was the food lodged in my throat that was sitting somewhere that was causing me to retch! My Dr was really nice today and I hope that now I can finally get some food in! I managed some chicken and vegies for dinner, so hopefully I might be on my way back!!

Today I regret having the surgery, I have lost 20kg, but I too have no appetite, I constantly feel sick, I can't eat solid food, I am 8 weeks out. Today I am having an endoscopy to see why I feel sick and why I have restriction in my throat, so hopefully I will find out why I am having so many issues and finally be able to celebrate my weightloss.

Well tomorrow I am having an endoscopy!! Hopefully they can find out what my problem is!! FINALLY!

I am definitely not over eating. And I am fairly certain that I am not getting the required protein. My surgeon has been less than helpful post surgery, I was admitted with dehydration and he treeated me like I was stupid, so I really hate to go see him if I don't need to, I guess I just need to bite the bullet and do it.

Not sure if this is the right section for this thread, but it sounded right. Just having a whinge, and I am surrprised its taken me this long. I am 8 weeks out from surgery tomorrow, and I feel shite. I can't eat anything, and if I do its tiny tiny amounts. I hear "read" people talking about eating a saucer of food. I am lucky if I can eat 2 or 3 teaspoons. I am vomitting most days, no reason, just feel sick, and up it comes. I can drink fine, but food is a real issue. Surely my body can't survive on such little food. For example, yesterday I had a couple of sips of a hot choc, 1 cracker with vegimite and a sip of Soup. I can't seem to find any information on why I feel a blockage in my throat. I think this blockage is whats causing me to be sick. Its like when you poke your finger down your throat and you need to retch, like its just sitting there ready to make me spew! Food is such a huge part of your life and every single meal is affected by how I feel. We don't go out any where because I can't eat anything. I haven't got the energy just to cruise the shops. I have lost 20kg but I worry about it coming back when eventually I start to eat. **Little gap there where I went to be sick** I am just so over it, and soemdays find myself wishing I had never done this to myself. :lol0:

Hi everyone. I had my sleeve done on the 20th April 2009, in Brisbane Australia. I have had a fairly rough trott. The first couple of weeks were good, I got thru clears and fluids ok, just as I was about to make the transition to solids, I started to be sick. I would vomit first thing in the morning, and then feel sick all day, sometimes vomiting at night too. I went to see my surgeon and he said it was most likely because I wasn't taking anything for reflux, he hadn't told me to, so I didn't. Claims he told me that I should be taking nexium for 6 weeks post surgery:thumbdown:. Anyway I was still pretty sick, couldn't keep anything down, nothing appealed to me, and I got dehydrated. Dad hired me a nurse who stayed with me for a few days and after a couple of trips to the ER I finally got admitted for 3 days and put on fluids. Then I realised that it was up to me to force myself to eat (Who would have ever thought I'd have to force myself to eat!!?) I am now 8 weeks out and still unable to eat much. But I am getting there. I still don't feel well, but I guess its just a matter of time. I kind of feel like I have taken a big Vitamin pill and its stuck in my throat. That feeling is constantly there and I think its that making me feel sick. So I can't wait to get eating "normally" and feeling better so I can't start to get some exercise in. For all those who don't do kg's I have lost close to 43 pounds. Honestly I am not at the stage that I can say its the best thing I have ever done, but I am sure it will be!! Everyone is noticing my weightloss, but I can't enjoy it cause I feel so terrible.

The sleeve was my first and last ever WLS.

I have had wine, but I believe that it makes you silly quickly, and lots less than normal needed to do that! I avoid carbonated mixers with anything.

I am 7 weeks post op from Brisbane. My surgeon is based at greenslopes and I was done at Sunnybank. I paid for my own op so not sure about the APRA wait, sorry. But best of luck to you for a quick journey!

I had complications because I wasn't given the correct information. My surgeon didn't tell me to take the Nexium, and my stomach was raw and left me feeling ill all the time. Due to feeling ill I stopped eating and drinking and ended up in hospital on a drip. I am now taking nexium twice daily and it seems to have settled things down a bit and I am now able to eat and drink.

I have lost 42lbs and this morning gettting ready for work I really noticed it in my face. But I don't feel like I have lost that much weight.

Don't forget to drink plenty of Water too. Lots of water will fill you up and you'll be too busy running to the bathroom to eat!! Good luck!!

My husband helped with the majority care of our 4 year old. He did the cooking for them and made me soup. Just by being there to help me was all I needed. The post op recovery is quite smooth. I din't have my bandages changed, they didn't leak, they freshened them before I left the hospital but after that they were ok.

Doing much better now. I have been able to eat for 3 days! The few weeks before that I couldn't eat or drink anything, was also a bit mental that was preventing it, but back on now, roll on bikini bodies!!!

I have had a pretty rough recovery. My first 3 weeks was great, then I started to feel sick all the time and vomit daily. Turns out the Dr didn't give me nexium, and the acid caused my stomach to become raw and inflamed. I spent a few days getting rehydrated in hospital and am now finally on my way back! I have lost 41lb so far, so that's been motivational!! :confused1:

I certainly am! Bit cold here today though! But it is a beautiful sunny day, too nice to be at work!

Sorry I should have explained. I was sleeved on the 20th of April and have only in the last 3 days started a normal diet. I have been sick in hopsital with complications and my doctor hasn't really given me much to go on re protien intake and all that stuff.

So I am looking for ideas for daily intake. At the moment my usual day consists of Breakfast 1/2 a Weetbix Morning tea Black Tea lunch 1 cruskit with vegimite or creamed cheese some watermelon Afternoon Tea Fruit dinner Pasta I need some variation, can anyone post what they eat inn a day to give me some ideas please! Thanks in advance!
