  6. I had the lapband for 5 years, each year the throwing up got worse. I was so worried I would have esphogial scarring and I was very lucky to get the lapband loosened until my surgery. After my sleeve I havent had any issues of throwing up, my acid reflux is gone! After surgery I did experince some nausea for the 1st day but it got better and I was so happy. Each of us is different after surgery wishing you the very best!
  7. BlueSea, Isnt it amazing when your on the path to WLS that you notice the small things in life. Especailly how others eat their food. I agree with your decision to continue to be private about your upcoming surgery. And even with the knowledge of your friends possible WLS you had the respect to allow her to continue her journey for a healthier life style. No matter what that is something you should be proud of! When I started WLS journey I knew it is something I feel I want to guard with all my heart. Not because I feel I am weak as a person because all of us have face the unsettling judgement of others during weight gain moments of our life. I just want to protect myself and my journey and not be derailed by others comments. I am doing this for me and my family to have a long and healthy life. I lost my father to obesity plan and simple he was very young. So for me I have been on this journey to get healthy and happy with the wonderful tool of VSG also I didnt want my daughter to go through the same pain in her young life. And I have a little cheerleader on my side!! So Happy I did this!! Wishing you the very best!

No limitations with the sleeve I can eat onion, celery and carrots without any problems the best part is I can keep all the Protein in my body with out throwing up. My body at the end of my lapband journey my would without notice I would get violently sick!! Some people have had good response with the lapband and some haven't we all are like fingerprints each is different and our experiences are different too. I am a firm believer in doing what is right for you to have a long and healthy life!!

Glad to hear he moved out. Now is the time to get some addiction or co-addiction counseling for yourself and for the kids as well. I know it is a finacial burden but there are meetings out there that are supportive and will help you and your kids to see the truth. Also please know that you were in many ways a single parent in that relationship. While being a parent to him in a lot of ways. He was enabled to get all that he wanted and yet you had to work so hard to keep it all together. Now is the time to reflect on what will make your home safe and peacful again for your family. Take the time to be selfish and work on what you need to work on to make you stronger and happy once again. Addiction is hard life to live and even harder to be around it has an undercurrent that no one else really knows unless you have lived it. My cousin had a boyfriend who addicted to heroin and it had and still has a scar on their lives. She had to first admit she enable her bf then admit she too needed to break the chains of addiction in her life. I think she found help with al onon meetings in her area. They ave 2 children together and she has made a new life for herself and her children, they see and interact with their dad and as children they know they have to be the adult in his life, so sad. But true, kids are resilint and smarter then most think. Praying for you and your children too!
  13. Oh yes, when TOM comes in the weight loss is much slower and it is like hitting a wall. Love the lemon in water idea!
  14. R.E.S.P.E.C.T - Aretha Franklin What doesn't Kill ya makes your stornger- Kelly Clarkson Roar-Katy Perry Cant touch this- MC Hammer and YES I shake my butt and sing it loud and proud with my daughter!!
  15. I was curious about this too, praying for a miracle because I only planned on having plastic on the girls!!
  16. Wow, I researched for my revison doctor for over 2 years. Since the doctor who did my lapband was a good surgeon and I was reffered to him however after years of suspecting my lapband had problem this Dr alway made me think my failure to loose weight was my fault. It wasnt it was kinked and had slipped go figure. So for my health I really had look hard to find the best Dr I could find and take a leap of faith in having my revision. I had to go 2 hours out of town to find a center of excellence and I am very thankful I found not only was my doctor highly recommended he also is a leader of biariatric surgery in the USA. Many doctor from around the world come to him and learn from the best. I knew the moment I met him I would be in good hands and the proof was the when I woke up from surgery He greeted me with a smile and told me everything was ok. He also informed me that my lapband was a real mess inside me and the scare tissue fought hard to keep it in place but my doctor got it taken care of and did my sleeve all with in an hour in half. I am very pleased now! Having worked in a hospital I do know the importance of research so I am very happy to hear you have done research about your new doctor.
  17. I agree with this post. Often the reason a man cheats or gets caught trying to cheat is they want the easy way out. They do not want to look like the bad guy who asked for the divorce so they take the easy way out unaware of the colaterial damage that will happen regarding your children and your heart along the way. I have a feeling you already knew the signs and the texts you found were just confirmation on what you knew deep down inside. Make sure you seek proper counsel and legal counsel as well. Be wise and take care of yourself and your children. I am so sorry you have to go through this and pray you will have the widom to find the answers and the strenght to face the problems that need to be faced to get through this and the courage to keep going no matter what. Hugz
  18. Yummy, that is on my weekend cooking list to do!! Thanks for sharing!
  19. When I was denied by my insurance the 1st time I really thought long and hard about going to Mexico for WLS. I did alot of research and I was willing to make & take the gamble on my health. However Hubby said no way, deep down inside I knew the answer for me would be no I worked in a hospital. The day I had my surgery in CA there was reports of flooding in Mexico and all I could think of was "What if I was having surgery or even recovering from WLS and it flooded where would I be"? I am still thankful for having the WLS surgery here in the states because if I have any complications I would be taken care of.
  20. Curious, what is TPO?
