Chocolate meltdown
Hello everyone. Today marks my first month postop and I have not eaten anything considered "bad" or junk food. However, there are 100 calorie snacks in my house. They consists of chocolate chip cookies, and some other stuff. The good news is that I have never been tempted, but if I ever am tempted, I don't think I'll feel guilty to eat a pack. I can simply eat it and go to the gym and burn the extra 100 calories in 30 minutes. It's feels great to have a "plan" that won't sabotage my weight loss.

Dreams
I am one month postop tomorrow and I have not taken any type of medication for three weeks. However, I've been aging vivid dreams too. Really weird stuff!

Left Shoulder Pain Since Surgery on March 29th 2013
I am so sorry to hear that some bandsters experience this type of pain. I guess I was one of the lucky ones, because I have never had that pain on the shoulder. Amen to that!

June 27th Banders...Post Op
I was banded June 28th. Have lost 9 pounds but 20 in total if you include the preop liquid diet. I have had two fills already. I see the doctor again in September.

First fill was on Monday and I am starving today!
Bro Rob, my doctor has been veer aggressive with fills. My first fill, he added 1.5, and I was hungry constantly. I just had my second fill on Monday and he added 2.5 cc. Now, I really never feel hunger. It's a great feeling. You probably need to get filled more.

Need advice
Thanks guy. I agree with you.

Need advice
Thanks carolinagirl. I was thinking that if I ate without hunger that I will just be adding unnecessary calories to my diet.

Need advice
Hi fellow bandsters. I have a question. If I'm not hungry, should I eat? I know most of you will probably say no, but I ask because I think that if I only eat twice a day, that I will not lose weight. My situation is that since my last fill, I rarely feel hunger. I try to eat three times a day, but I really don't need to, but I worry about my metabolism.

Feeling a little down

2nd month
Nod young. Same here. I never lost anything in two weeks, but I have been eating bread here and there even though it is difficult for me to swallow it. On the other hand, I had pasta today for the first time and it was great! No problems. So far, I'm having probes eating bread and fruit in a can/jar.

Salads?
Yesterday, I went out to dinner and I wanted to eat a salad but didn't because I was told that I cannot have raw fruits or vegetables for 60 days post op. did anyone eat salad right after beginning to eat solid foods?

Too tight or irritated?
Justathing, it's weird how every doctor is different. When I get my fills, I stay on liquids for the rest of that day and the next day, everything goes back to regular food. Weird.

10cc's in 11cc band
Lapbandit. I agree with you. I think that some doctors are only in this for the money. I'm still not sure about mine, yet. But, I just got my second fill of 2.5 and now I'm up to 4.0cc. I was self paid: $9,745.00. Every time I go for a fill, I have to pay $200. My third fill is scheduled for September 9th.

Complete Lap Band Failure & Then Success
Hi Jim. Thank you for the post! I agree with everything you said! As for me, I eat carbs, but like you said, I have portion control. I do not feel that I should stop eating carbs completely because if that was the case, I would have never gotten the LapBand and stuck to a no or low carb diet. My doctor never tells me what I shouldn't eat. The only thing he keeps stressing to me is exercise. I have been following doctors orders and I am doing great!

Im starting to regret......
Way to go, Bro Rob! Your words of encouragement helps Chloe and many others stay on the right track. Chloe, so far, I think that this is going to be one of our greatest challenges but one that will bring us great joy and results. We are all here for you!

I don't mind!!! Go ahead!!! Take my picture!! I'll never hide again.
Susan, congratulations! You look fabulous! Since February, how much weight have you lost? Also, have you been exercising?

Pasta and rice with lap band????
I have not eaten pasta yet. However, I have eaten rice two or three times and I haven't had any problems. My problem is to make sure that I eat very small pieces of meat or I will have a stuck episode. Good luck.

Getting frustrated
Solanoam I was banded on June 28. I lost 5 pounds the first week and absolutely nothing ever since. I had my second fill today. Can't wait to see what happens.

Warrior or whimp?
Lisa, I try to go to the gym at least 4 times a week. However, for now, I'm sticking to the treadmill for an hour at 2.5 and incline of 2.0-2.5. That may not be a lot for others but for someone who hates exercise, it's a big accomplishment. My lapband doctor has been encouraging me from day 1 to exercise. I trust him, so I listen and take his advice. Yet, in two weeks, I haven't lost any weight! But I've had NSV moments.
