  1. Good for you! I'll keek you in my prayers.
  2. Minimi Great for her! Although I am conscious of portions, I feel I can eat anything! I guess I haven't reached the point of restriction yet
  3. Gina, what you are saying dies not sound right and your port area definitely does not look good. I would seek medical attention, but not from him of course! Good luck and God bless!
  4. Welcome to the forum! This is the best place to be. Now, and especially after banding.
  5. Omg! I was cleaning some jewelry today and decided to try on my favorite ring, which used to fit tight. Well, I can wear it now, yippee!
  6. Suziecat Thanks for sharing the info the doctor gave you about when to eat your salad. It is an interesting concept to eat the salad after the Protein. Once I start eating salads again, I will do that. My doctor says that I cannot eat salads until after 60 days postop. So I'm patiently waiting since I love salads sooooo much.
  7. B 52......I love your attitude! I believe the same. If I ever decide to "cheat" I'll make sure it's all worth it. Mis73 thanks for sharing the info on the Healthy Choice servings. You are my role model!
  8. Hi sdimango! I'm a third grade teacher too. I go back to work next Monday to start setting up my classroom.

  10. Prettythick, you need to start changing your name to "Prettythin" lol! I am so happy for you! I am also happy to have found this forum because I know that I would be lost or discouraged without it. Thanks everyone and good luck!
  11. Goal was 184. Weighing in at 185.6 this morning. Missed my goal by 1.6 pounds. Not bad. five weeks postop, and lost 21 pounds (including 5 day preop liquid diet). Now, I am ready for August!
  12. Awesome! Thanks for sharing.
  13. Show. I'm no expert on any topic but I read somewhere that although pre packed/frozen low cal/low fat food is better than other stuff, it is high in carbs or sodium which make us fat or retain Water. That's what I think could be happening. As for me, I never measure anything because before surgery I decided to serve myself in the smallest bowl in the house. The bowl can only contain about a cup of solid food. That's my measuring device. However, I do go to the gym 4-5 times a week. I am not a veteran bandster like you. I just wanted to chime in. It's been a month since I've been banded and for three weeks after surgery, I did not lose any weight. This week, I decided to cut most carbs like bread and rice, and I already lost a pound in two days.
  14. Pittsburg It's amazing how different every doctor is. Whenever I get a fill, I must be on a liquid diet for 24 hours, that's it! Then, it's back to whatever I can tolerate (I.e. mushies or solids).
  15. I only drink decaf so I don't have to worry about caffeine. Lol
  16. Checking in at 185.6. My goal for July is 184.
  17. Luka Beth, I think that because you are getting smaller, the boobs seem bigger. Lol
  18. Hi! My face first, and belly. Then, all of a sudden, I have ankles and could buy nice open toe sandals!
  19. Sorry, typo....30, not 390. Lol
  20. By the way, I forgot to mention that my doctor has told me not to drink 390 minutes before eating, during a meal, and 30 minutes after a meal. It sounds like you need a fill. I've had two already and I'm scheduled for a third one on September 9.
  21. Hi makikone. I have the same dilemma. I lost 20 pounds between the 5 day preop liquid diet and the week postop liquid diet. HoweveR, i have not lost a single pound since and that's three weeks! I work out 4-5 times for one hour at the gym,, and still no weight loss. Today, I decided two things: 1- stop weighing myself every day! I will weigh myself only once a week beginning today. 2- cut out most of my carbs. I was eating bread and rice once or twice a week. I am still unhappy about this because I know that if I begin to feel like I'm dieting, eventually I will give up! Every person who gets banded has tried every diet out there. Feeling like living with the lapband is just another diet, in my opinion, defeats the whole purpose. I'm just not happy right now. Good luck, and congratulations on your two pound loss!
  22. Month goal: 184 July 1st weigh-in: 193 Today's weight: 186 However, I am not happy because I lost the weight the week after surgery and nothing since! I have stagnated at 186 for exactly three weeks now. I don't know why??????
  23. Hi! I am one month postop. I lost 20 pounds between preop and the week following surgery, but for the last 3 weeks, I haven't lost a pound. I go to the gym 4-5 times a week and eat healthy. Who knows what the heck is going on in our bodies???
