  1. "Muscle does not weigh more than fat, any more than lead weighs more than feathers. A pound is a pound is a pound. Where the misunderstanding often comes in is that muscle is much more dense than fat, so that, by volume, it seems to weigh more. That is, a pound of muscle occupies less space than a pound of fat. In addition, because a pound of muscle burns more fat than a pound of fat, even at rest, by increasing your lean muscle tissue mass, you're helping your body burn more calories. If you only have a small amount of weight to lose, then you may feel like the weight training is not helping you move down on the scale. In fact, the number may even go up, but you will look thinner. This is due to an increase in lean body mass (muscle, bone, blood volume) and a decrease in body fat. In other words, even if the scale doesn't change much, you will probably see a difference in how your clothes fit."
  2. Yes - I was wondering mainly for food and nutrition purposes. Also I was told to eat approximately 3-4oz of meat....
  3. Am I supposed to be weighing my food (Meat) before or after it is cooked?
  4. You can communicate with people like this or even start your own thread with specific questions. You can also start personal conversations with people.
  5. Does anyone else experience this? I find that if I haven't ate for a while or get to hungry my shoulder/collarbone will start to hurt. I was banded on 2/6/13 and this never happened before. It almost feels like the gas pains, but it only happens when it's time for me to eat.
  6. Special K is great, but it also has like 16g of sugar and you should only have 6-7g per serving!
  7. I have done curves in the past and had some success. It was a little too slow paced for me, but I still liked it.
  8. Toning may slow down the scale, but it will not usually slow down the inches lost and therefor your cloths should fit better, etc. To me how I feel and how my cloths fit is way more important than what the scale says.
  9. I have and use UP by Jawbone and LOVE it!
  10. One month since the beginning of my Pre-op diet and down 16 lbs!
  11. I am debating on whether or not to keep any of my old jeans because it is so hard for me to find ones that fit right. However, doing so I feel like I am saying that this is either; A) not going to wk, or only going to work for a little while and I don't want to have that mind set. I want to keep the mind set that failure is not an option. Any ideas? Curious to know what other people done or are going to do.
  12. I too was allowed protein shakes on all liquid stages.
  13. Awesome...Congrats! You will do great. Keep us posted on your recovery.
  14. Even on Clear liquids I was allowed Protein shakes. Is this not the case for you??
  15. Awesome! We should all meet up sometime somewhere in the middle.
  16. I know where Trenton is. I'm not far from there @ all. My best friend lives in Middletown.
  17. I was told liquid or chewable. If solid it would have to be TINY. Make sure you are getting your protein in. This should help with hair loss.
  18. Right - I currently live in Miamisburg...work in Dayton.
