  1. I was just banded Wednesday & immediately started having doubts. Is this normal? I was never worries about something going wrong with the band down the road when I was per-op. There was never any doubts that this is what I wanted. So I don't know if its because of all the pain, but now I am worried, I don't want to have to do this again should something go wrong with the band. I'm worried I may have made a mistake. It's all so real now. Anyone else go through this?
  2. I was banded on Wednesday as well. Chest pain is the worst. When I woke up from the surgery I thought I was being suffocated.
  3. I'm from Dayton, Ohio. I think we are both schedule for tomorrow Feb the 6th, no?
  4. Hold Up!! In the 3rd video this guy says that it is okay to drink with your meal. Everyone I have talked to says NO! I am interested in thoughts on this...do you guys drink with your meals???
  5. Yeah, but that's the thing...I got the low sodium broths, which is still high, so I have one done broth 2 of my 9 days. Didn't really see the point. With such low calorie content and high sodium I didn't really see any benefit.
  6. Heck Yeah! I had a last supper/early birthday dinner. Decided on steak since I hear red meat is hard after. I didn't eat as much as I normally do, but I think that was just because I was so mentally ready to start this journey.
  7. Some days my water intake is better than others. On a good day about 50oz. Its hard to drink that much with everything else being liquid I am always in the bathroom. My exercise has been cardio only so far, no weigh training. My sodium intake is usually low only about 1000-1500 only 2 days did I go above that. My period is irregular, but I don't think its close.
  8. My pre-op diet is a liquid: Protein Shakes sugar free jell-o Sugar free Popsicle Sugar free Applesauce oatmeal Low Sodium Beef broth Low Sodium Chick Broth I have been faithful and not cheated once. My starting BMI was 43
  9. Day 9 of my pre-op liquid diet and only down 5lbs. I know this is a loss and so I should be happy, but I have followed this diet and not cheated once, even when it was CRAZY hard! I have even began working out and been staying super active to keep my mind busy. I wasn't too worried about only loosing 5 lbs because I figured that my cloths would maybe fit better and I would see changes elsewhere, but I went out to the movies with my boyfriend last night for my birthday, it was the first time I have wore my jeans since I started the diet, and I could swear they were tighter! I am worried that if I am not loosing now that even with the band I may not have success . I'm super scared of failing. Is this liquid diet just making me irrational?
  10. Good Luck! In my thoughts!!
  11. Thanks! My boss does know about me having the surgery and is actually "against" it himself, but still wanted me to join. He is very involved in the competition and is one the the people responsible for it.
  12. I work for a fairly big company and there is a weight loss challenge at work with a $500 prize. I am single and have custody of my niece (5) and nephew (10) so I could use the money. My boss, who knows i am having this surgery, hounded me today until I agreed to sign up. I am scheduled for surgery Wednesday the 6th of Feb and the competition lasts until sometime in April. I know the surgery will not guarantee that I win, but I almost feel like it is an unfair advantage and that if I did win and people found out they would be upset. Should I withdraw from the competition, any thoughts?
  13. I was wondering how long everyone needed off work after the surgery? I know everyone is different, but was was wondering if it is normally closer to 2 weeks or 4. I am scheduled for surgery this Wednesday Feb the 6th, so I was just curious how long I may be off.
  14. It may be the type of shake you are drinking. I have a couple different pre mixed shakes that I do and one has that effect on me. I save it for when I'm going to be home alone, lol. The other ones I have no issues with.
  15. My UP was $129 at Best Buy. They carry the Blue & Black in the store. If you want one of the other colors you have to go online I think. The app is free and it plugs right into your phone so you can sync it any time to see where you are at. You can also build teams for support if you know other people who have it. If you get one let me know and we can team up! I looked at the fitbit, but was afraid I would loose that to easy.
  16. I have the body bugg and am not a big fan. Not only do you have to purchase the "bugg" but you have to pay for a subscription to the website to download the information into, so it is not a one time purchase and it is not cheap to begin with. I recently purchased the UP by Jawbone and LOVE it! It tracks your steps and sleeping patterns. http://jawbone.com/up
  17. That's awesome! You should know something soon. It only took me less than a week for approval.
  18. I am on day 3 of my pre-op liquid diet and bedtime last night was the worst! My stomach was going crazy! I avoided dinner time @ my house by hitting the gym after wk. I was afraid working out would make me feel worse with only liquids in my system, but it actually helped. I felt full and energized, not for long, but it was better than sitting at home and watching everyone eat food I couldn't eat.
  19. I would call the doctor who done your psyc eval and see what the hold up is.
