oh i am so depressed....got the band on 15th march 2011....i was 204 lbs then.i went down to 176, now my wt is again increasing.I am 186 today!!!

I live in India am a vegetarian. It is so difficult to follow a high Protein diet here. Why do we need protein to loose wt?

I am feeling quite low today. I dont exercise much due to arthritis. but nor do I eat much.I must be having 1000 cals daily.

Nows the time to get back on track. You have gained 10 pounds or so, ask yourself what are you going to do? Do you want to give up and gain all of it back, I think the answer is NO. WE feel better inside our bodies with weight loss, plus the health issues that will increase as we age with heavy weight on our bodies.

Check into a swimming pool program, this is excellent exercise for arthritis. It gives good muscle tone development and YOU will lose the weight in a swimming pool. Go 2 or 3 times a week. Your fat will slowly disappear and muscle will return. The more muscle the more calorie burning. This is also excellent in building up leg muscles and should help the arthritis.

Best wishes

Roj is so right I to have arthritis in all joints and had real problems in my hips so I couldn't walk much or dance and I love to line dance. I started to get shots in my back that worked in my hips but what really make it go away is losing 59 lbs now I can dance 2 hrs straight and love it. Swimming is great try to get into that. good luck

you say you "must" be having 1000 calories a day. Are you logging every thing that you are eating? Because if not, you may be eating more than that. To gain weight you need to be eating more than what you are putting out each day. Don't give up though. You lost it once you will do it again. At least you didn't gain it all back! Good luck.

You need protein to keep you fuller longer, resulting in eating not only less but less often.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
