  1. Chris makes a simple tuna caserole with egg noodles, tuna and cream of mushroom sprinkled with breadcrums and cheddar. Good stuff.

Hi Tanya! Welcome with a big smile
  3. LBT is as fickle as my band! Bright, sorry about the Screenname thread... I deleted it (don't ask) but Penni brought it back today. Oops!
  4. P.S. Another five star post. Love it!
  5. Safety Dance and Toxic! Great choices. Penni, now I'm gonna make you make ME a mixed tape of all this. And I agree, anything from Queen, any day of the week. Anything from Alanis (she makes me really mad at men, which makes me sweat more.)
  6. We'll be here with open arms once you're banded. Congrads, must be awesome for insurance to pay!
  7. Cybil. Gidget. June. Pumkin. DeLarla. Six. Heartface. My Aunt named me pumpkin at 4 cuz she was carving a pumpkin and none of the other kids cared, but I was mezmorized by all the stringy goo she pulled out with her bare hands. Chris calls me Pump for short. I've always been acused of multiple personalities and mental disorders, so I've been named Cybil several times throughout life, plus when I was younger I was often told I looked like Sally Field, who played Cybil and Gidget, so certain friends call me Cybil or Gidget. Some friends call me June cuz I remind them of the mental patient in Benny & June, who stands on the corner directing traffic wearing a snorkle and diving fins. I LOVE June! 1 There used to be a sitcom, and one of the actresses was really weird and her name was Six. So my friends called me Six. I guess I should be concerned that everyone thinks I'm weird, but I'd rather be weird than boring any day of the week. Heartface... deep sigh. From my first true love. He's a mental case now (I thought opposites were supposed to attract) but he adored me and said my face was in the shape of a heart. He'll always be in my heart.
  8. In addition to the Band securing in place, I've also been told that you don't want your stomach doing any serious digestion because all those digestive acids make your stomach move and rumble around, which is too disruptive in the beginning, so stick to liquids and mushies for a few weeks.

I think Penni is confused with Band Bash and Birthday Bash. Penni, this is a Band Bash, but since you keep reminding us of your birthday, I'll be sure to have many cans of whip cream in the fridge - you know, the kind that sprays in your face? You want a birthday spanking? You got it! Payback's a bitch, ain't it? Oh boy, this is gonna be fun! And I think everyone else will agree that you should be the first to get tossed in the pool drunk in your panties this year!

A fish slice? Bright, you are so cute! I love the snow. What the heck is a fish slice?
  11. Funny you should mention Karen, cuz I just nagged at her for not posting often. I told her that lots of people are asking about her, and she said she'd post something. Geeze, now I gotta nag at her some more cuz I don't see a Karen post, do you?
  12. I was squeezing into a 28 Tall pants. Today I'm wearing very sloopy-loopy size 20 Tall pants that I can pull down without unbuttoning. You have to throw away all your old gramma undies in case your pants fall down.
  13. Daisypooh, I don't know how I missed this thread. It should have showed under "New Posts" but I never saw it. I'm always happy to meeting new Bandsters. Just think, this time next week you'll be on the road to recovery! I wrote the date in my calendar, and I look forward to seeing you! Good luck with your surgery.
  14. How come the Viva Las Vegas thread doesn't show under "new posts?" How could I miss that?
  15. While I'm here, can I say how much I despise the Adkins Diet? I still see people eating a pound of bacon... but nooooo, they can't touch a stalk of brocolli! So I read the entire Adkins book from front to back. In the very last pages, in a very small, gray box, it says that you have to watch your portion control. In the back of the book there's an index that tells you exactly how much bacon you can have, how much cheese, how much steak, etc. The portions are regular-size portions that you'd expect on any weigh loss plan. But nobody reads the small print, so they keep killing themselves with piles of protein thinking they are following the Adkins Diet. Wrong. You have to measure, even on Adkins.
  16. I can't believe you wrote that since I drop everything when that song comes on to dance in my underwear while singing into a brush handle! The next best song is THUNDER STRUCK by AC DC. Mind you, I've never been a huge AC DC fan, but a friend gave me a mixed tape to exercise to. Every time Thunder Struck comes on it makes me work harder!
  17. Hey Deb, say an extra "Thank YOU" to the powers that be for guiding you here to LBT. This site is a blessing and you'll meet tons of people holding your hand through the whole process. Good luck to you.

You shouldn't be eating anything at all! You should be on Clear liquids for the first several days, and then you should slowly move to thick liquids then mushy foods. What are you eating? It is very important to NOT eat for a few days after the surgery because the Band has to seat itself, plus your stomach will have to do a lot of work to digest food, and you don't want to disturb the band yet. You need to call your doctor and tell him you've been eating food. Ask him why he's the only Band surgeon that allows his patient to eat food in the first few days. Maybe he forgot to give you correct post-op instructions or something. The left shoulder pain is very common and very normal after surgery (has to do with the anesthesia.) Use a nice big heating pad for the shoulder pain, which brought me a lot of comfort. As far as feeling awful, yes, a lot of us felt horrible for a week or two after surgery. Some people went back to work after a few days, while I could never imagine going back to work for at least a week. Is the pain in your esphogus like a really painful hiccup-type thing? It's hard to explain, but I had that for a couple days. All gas related, and it will get better.
  19. LBT is getting really interesting lately with all these new Mexican doctors. Fun to see all the new people here. Good luck with your surgery.
  20. Am I supposed to be working? How can I work when there might be new threads? Junkie? What junkie?
  21. Daisydoodle, no need to change your name. Just shorten it to DaisyDoo.
  22. Why the heck would they make a new woman's vitamin less effective than Flintstones? Go figure. Even taking vitamins has gotten exhausting. Sheesh!
  23. Greg, are you really going to try to make us feel bad for taking drugs two decades ago MR. POLICE-MOM-MONITOR-DUDE? HUH? Are you on drugs? I can't even take cold medicine these days without hallucinations! Daisy, I think I published that Apidex Diet back in them good old days! Kim, you must be dropping weight like crazy. I'm jealous!
  24. OMG, I'm totally laughing but PLEASE bring the pee-pee man back! I love the pee-pee man! And your avatar is darling, so don't change it!

Estela, sorry for laughing at your post, but I totally understand insane family that think they know your business better than you! Ya gotta love it. No, you can't eat your cake and have your milk, too. liquids push the food through the band so you'll feel hungry sooner. Hello, the whole reason we got the Band was to feel full. Get over it (that's my tough-love for the day.)
