  1. Where there is a Will... there is a way!!!

I just did quite a bit of searching on MFP for several food options. First of all, I need to remember that I'll never be able to eat a full serving offered by either of these restaurants. My guess is that I might be able to eat 1/4 of the meal, perhaps slightly more.

I printed & emailed myself a bunch of food options I might consider so I can make a better educated choice. I found a "skinny" menu option for Maggiano's, which makes me giggle a little bit. The Cheesecake Factory, on the other hand, will present a bit more of a challenge. However, I decided that if I split that yummy cheesecake into 3 servings, I can satisfy my craving & not over do it.

I expect during the 5 days of my business meeting that I will run into a few challenges. After doing a little homework, I feel better about myself.

I have choices & I plan on making the best possible ones with the options I'm given!

    Bring it on.

  2. Wow, your timing is impeccable. I've been at the same weight for 2 1/2 weeks. This is unfamiliar territory for me, and has become a bit of a frustration.

After reading your post, I'm certainly hitting most things on your checklist: poor sleep, major stress, poor bowel movements, and not enough protein.

I'm certainly not ready to throw in the towel, but I appreciate reading what you wrote to keep me in line & focused.

    Thanks for sharing!!!

  3. I didn't really have any pain. I only took a pain pill the following morning because I had one heckuva a headache. Everything else was just achy, like a mild stomach ache.

Thankfully, I didn't have any weight gain. Maybe you read about that because people were constipated, something happens often when you're banded. Well, often for me anyway.

Remember to walk, walk, walk, use the heating pad, have gas ex on hand & sip your drinks.

    You'be fine!

  4. I am going thru the same thing. For my dad it is just a matter of time. It is so hard to watch your big strong daddy sit in a wheelchair barely able to breath. its heart breaking. I feel ya girl, I dont know if it is possible to just "acceptd" it. I dont think I ever will.

So sorry you're also dealing with this. It's definitely not easy & I think it takes a bigger toll on us than what we even realize. I know it seems to be that way for me anyway. Totally affecting my sleep.

Stay strong for your dad & just continue to support & love him as best as you can. God bless

  5. As I'm sitting here, I'm finding that I'm burping, and I'm NOT eating. I do belch like a sailor often at night, and am unsure why. I'd like to say that it's normal, but I'm not really sure about that.

My husband is finally starting to get used to me. I try to cover up when possible, but other times, it's flat out entertaining... LOL

  6. Good for you! Mind over matter!

Personally, I enjoy egg nog. I will have a little shot glass size of Southern Comfort Vanilla Spice eggnog (no alcohol in it) every once in a while at night. I'm not completely giving it up & a shot satisfies me. :)

  7. I've read that many people hear lots of noises coming from their tummies at one point or another.

I do get the burping & then hic-cuping, but I'm pretty sure that's because I eat too fast and/or don't chew my food enough. Try taking smaller bites, the size of your pinky nail (as long as it's not massive, of course), and chew, chew, chew. Can't tell you enough how many times our lap-band friends have had to remind me of this. I'm a tough learner, I guess :)

I don't know how much you eat, but I believe we shoud not eat more than 1/2 - 1 cup of food at a time. Right now, I'm averaging 1/2 cup per meal.

    Good luck!

  8. I totally feel ya! I was banded Nov 24, 2010 I started at 252 July of this year I was down to 190. My band slipped and my Dr. removed all fluid. A month later he said things looked good and gave me a fill. He uses the machine to determine how much restriction I have. He says I have enough but I am up to 207 as of today.. I feel ashame and a failure. I got on here looking for motivation and support. I get so discouraged thinking I am the only one who has had these temporary set backs. I have read so many post and am beginning to see I can regroup and get back on track and I would love to chat with you. I want it to motivate you!!!!! I have faith that you will regroup as well!!! we both will over come this temporary set back. The key is we didn't get to far off track. Good luck to you. Would love to hear from ya, I don't get on this site often but If you are interested I would love to email chat with ya. I could use support. If your not interested its cool and I understand. deitzberneice@yahoo.com

Keep your head up, and good luck

I think everyone kinda gets lost at one point or another. I mean, that's how we got here in the first place. The band is a lifestyle change, and we need to make a conscious effort to help use our tool the right way every day.

I hear that unfills can easily lead us back to our old ways where we eat more, because we're just hungrier. Keep exercising & just watch what you eat.

Hang in there. We're all here to support each other throughout this incredible journey!!

  9. This will be my first Thanksgiving. Currently, I would not even be able to finish what you ate above. But, I think it's because I might be a little too tight. Aything I eat or drink, gets very uncomfortable very quickly. I cant even drink as much as I should. I feel it right in my chest too. Have a Dr apt tomorrow afternoon, so we'll see.

Anyway, I look forward to this Thanskgiving, to be with my entire family, and hopefully... just hopefully, someone will notice that I've lost about 36 pds. :)

    Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!!!
