  1. I do. I have my salad (the greens) about 1 hour before my dinner. But in restaurants I some times order a salad with a protein, like salmon and eat that all together. I don't use dressing so I save on fats and calories. I stop when I know I will be full and bring home the left overs.
  2. Your first appointment make sure you have all your medical cards and medication list. Every doctor's office have their own pre-surgery testings etc. Very hard to answer that one. I have seen on this site some people have questionnaires to fill about for their psych test, mine was a one on one for about 45 minutes. On your profile you don't list what state. I am from Boston. Congratulations and good luck with your new journey. I hope you will not be sorry, I am not.
  3. most doctors have 24/7 coverage. (mine does) Better to call now than wait until Tuesday. Feel better.
  4. Congratulations on getting the band and starting a new journey. As far as going to work so soon, it depends on your doctor and how well you heal. Ask your doctor is the best advice.
  5. Congratulations on your wonderful weight loss and for sharing your before and after surgery pictures. You look super. Enjoy your new body.
  6. My doctor doesn't want any fluids for 30 minutes before and after eating. Every doctor has their own rules.
  7. Have a wonderful time. Walking around will help with your exercise, also.
  8. I would call your doctor, ASAP! You have too many health issues. Gaining weight, in my eyes, shows you need a tool, The Band. I wish you luck with trying to get your surgery.
  9. Every where. A lot people lose in their shoe size, but never me, the size 12. My width did go down to a medium from a wide. I take my measurements once a month but didn't think of it until 1 1/2 months after the surgery. I have been bad for about 2 months so I have not taken any but I may soon.
  10. I know it is on my food list but I think only 1 tablespoon. That isn't a lot of protein, though. Check with your dietitian because they all have their own rules. I eat natural chunky.
  11. Jim-that is so sweet, I could cry. I think doing something like this together is so much easier. No more junk food to tempt you with. Congratulations Kelli!!!
  12. I have missed your check ins. WOW-your new weight. It's great when you love exercise. Good for you.
  13. Would never had known they were all you!! Congratulations
  14. you can't have any food until your doctor tells you can. Your surgery has to heal and your stomach get use to having a band around it. Call the doctor in the morning.
  15. When i am on the liquids after I fill I live on Popsicles and lots of hot tea. Maybe do something that keeps you away from the kitchen area. Also, you can't eat with wet nails. Sometimes I use top coat every night. My doctor has me on 3 days of liquids then 3 days of mushies before I get to eat real food.

I am very happy to hear from you, again. The beginning of the school year is always very busy. Sometimes you just have to walk away from your desk and say it's me time for 15 minutes. Have a great Labor Day weekend and relax with your wonderful husband.
  18. Politely I say mind your own 'f' business. That is one thing I will not share. My sons don't ask me and I don't tell anyone except my husband. A family friend asked and when I told my MIL she couldn't believe how rude that person was for asking. Next week starts the Jewish New Year and I will be seeing people I have not seen in one year, so it will be the same answer, personal info I do not share. I feel ashamed for letting myself get to 268 pounds is the truth and at this time in my life I can't share pounds lost. Maybe years from now I will tell. Most people I will see at the holidays have no idea I had WLS, another personal thing I don't share.
  19. You look amazing with your wonderful smile and great looking husband. Knowing that it took you 2 years to get to goal just made my day. Thank you. I have been around the same weight for 3-6 months (lost count) and feel like a failure. Now I don't. I am 13 months banded and thought it would take 1 1/2-2 years so I guess that is right. Keep in touch with us we all need encouraging words.
  20. Good evening, On Yahoo I was just reading an article that said Tim Gunn thinks it is awful the way designers treat plus size women. Finally someone on our side. He said if he was on the 8th floor at Saks in NY he would jump through the window because the clothes are that bad. I am not in plus size any more but I totally understand what he is talking about. When I wore plus size I wore a lot of Ralph Lauren. The jeans fit the best and lasted forever. Maybe now the designers will listen because Tim has a lot clout!!
  21. Good evening, Today I went for my annual pap smear. It was fast and pain free!!! I have something that is tilted so it has always hurt. My husband thinks the no pain was the weight loss. I hope so. Also, it was a new doctor and she was gentle and quick. Have any of you thinner women noticed any less pain when getting the pap smear? Remember to get checked at least every 2 years.
