  1. Hi All, Thanks Meredith for reassuring me that what I am going through is normal. I guess it is all part of the process. Meanwhile I am one week post op and down two kilos!:biggrin1: That kinda makes all the pain worthwhile. Sad news about Anna Nicole Smith. I hope she finds the peace she was seeking in death, that eluded her in life. Whatever anybody said about her she loved her kids, and anybody who dotes on their kids is alright in my book. Susannah
  2. Hey Anna, I have got the new AP band too. Susannah
  3. Hi, This is so sad. Anna really loved her kids so much, whatever people may say about her. She was a good lady. Thick Chick Texas you are exactly right. Anna I wish you to sleep peacefully. Susannah
  4. Hi Loretta, click on Victoria on the map of Australia when it comes up and it lists all the stores. Susannah
  5. Hey Miss Loretta, Try www.terrywhitechemists.com.au There is a store locator facility on the site. Just put in your suburb or postcode etc. Good on ya mate.:biggrin1: Susannah
  6. Hey D, I will be in my sister's care until Monday the 19th of Feb, when I will go back to Melbourne and my little flat. I am enjoying the country air and sunshine at the moment. It is good for what ailes ya! Susannah
  7. Hey Meredith, I was so upset yesterday, and questioning what the heck I had done to my body. I felt really worried and stressed about the whole process. Is this normal? Today I was happier, and I took a slow walk down to the shops. It wore me out really quickly. I am so grateful for the advice you girls give me. Susannah
  8. Hi Guys, here is another Yahoo banding forum you may want to check out. Bronnie it has a lot of Dr Nottle's patients on it in one of the threads. http://au.messages.yahoo.com/health/lap-band If the link doesn't work go to the yahoo health message boards and punch in lap band. Dionne I am ok today. Yesterday I cried and cried. It is a rollercoaster of pain etc I guess. Susannah
  9. Hey Katrina, Good luck for next week. I like to think of the band as a lassoo around my guts! Optifast was trying, to be sure. You will be in bandland soon Trin. Susannah
  10. Hi, The Lapband has been around in Australia since the early 90's. The head of the clinical practice who performed my surgery helped with the design of the original band. The lap band has proven to be safe and effective. There is no known side effects from having it in your body. Good luck with it. Susannah
  11. Hi Meredith, That is terrific, you go for it!:biggrin1: I may walk one of those in the future. You may also be interested to know that The MS society has runs and bike rides from time to time to raise money for research. Bron and I both have the condition so it is a bit close to our hearts I guess. Jacqui, What can I say? Your a machine mate!:biggrin1: Susannah
  12. Hi Jason, thanks for the info. What do you think about EQUAL? I use that in moderation. Susannah
  13. Hi Feb Crew, Congrats to Bbaygrl and others who are now banded. Yesterday I cried and cried. I think the enormity of what I have just gone through has kicked in. Is it normal to have an emotional meltdown? Susannah
  14. Hi, I was given a pair of paper undies with elastic in them to wear just like Babygotback did also. The medical staff are there only to operate on you and are very professional. I don't think it is wrong to feel modest and conservative in this regard though. Susannah
  15. Hi Cassandra, I am planning on coming to the US later in the year to visit my brother Simon who lives in Brooklyn NY. Maybe we should have a singles function. Just a thought. Susannah
  16. Sorry, make that Chocolate and Vanilla. I didn't have strawberry. Susannah
  17. Meredith, Two kilos weight loss is terrific!:biggrin1: You are going to look fabulous in your wedding dress. Meredith's Wedding. Is Toni Collette coming?:biggrin1: Dionne, It is nice to know that someone understands how I feel. Your story has inspired me. How are the Pina Colada shakes going?:biggrin1: I only had boring old Chocolate and Strawberry on the Optifast. Susannah
  18. Hi, I am not a Doc but isn't the band tightly stiched to the stomach wall? I would have thought that one would have to cough constantly and with strong force to dislodge/slip it. Susannah
  19. Hi All, I love, love, love sushi so much!:biggrin1: I hope I can still have it in some form when I start on solids.:hungry: :hungry: Susannah
  20. Hi J, I think you are right that Sarah does not really seem ready or willing to get the weight off. She didn't really want to exercise either, although I can understand that at her weight it must be hard and painful. I think if she comes back she has more of a chance of changing her life. The home environment may have contributed to her weight gain in the first place. These girls like her and Cat ( Who looks amazing) are so lucky to have men that love them and care for them. I just figure at my weight that I can't find a man who would love me so I just hide because I fear rejection. I would like to find a special someone, because I don't want to be alone anymore, and I would like to have a baby because the clock is ticking. Right now it is all too hard to deal with for me. I have too much on my plate to be honest. Susannah
  21. Gday, congats to all the new Feb bandsters, you are in bandland now.:biggrin1: I am so jealous of those who had an easy time with the surgery. I am still in pain and on meds. Susannah
  22. Gday Girls and Mark, Meredith hot the nail right on the head, about trying to educate people re the surgery. People are always going to have opinions about things. I did this for me. I don't want to have diabetes or get a stroke. Anybody watching the biggest loser? One of the girls decided to leave last night. One of the former contestants is coming on tonights show to try to talk her out of it. I wish them all so well. It is so hard. Susannah
  23. Hey, good luck Mom, Baby and Mel. :biggrin1: Susannah
  24. Hey Ash Man, Good on ya son!:biggrin1: Susannah
  25. Bronnie if you are reading this don't give up or feel despondant. You will be a bandster soon. I look forward to reading your posts, so don't stop. Susannah
