  3. Hi All, hey Babygrl I am on day 9 of Optifast and it is going ok. My tip is that the chocolate shake is yummier than the Vanilla. We don't have the strawberry variety here in Australia. Check out the bars and soups for variety. Good on ya champ!:biggrin1: Susannah
  4. Gday, You will get there soon Bronnie. Your apponitment is in weeks! Susannah

  8. Hi All, Patti how awful for you. Don't they realize banding is the last resort for us all? We have all done dieting to death with no results. Hang in there. Tracy: Insurance companies:rolleyes:  Ahhhhhh!!!! Susannah
  9. Hi Girls, As I said previously this has been a long process for me, basically having first considered it in 2003. I started all the appointments last july, and I will be banded in a fortnight. It is important for me to get banded, but I just went with the flow re the appointments. Susannah
  10. Hey, Just saw that my joining date for this site was February 2004! I have been thinking about getting banded since 2003. I take my time. Susannah
  11. Hi Bronnie, You can only have the vegies that are allowed as per the list. I am coping with it so far, as I am determined to make it. Others have so I should be able to as well. I think it can't hurt to be on a liquid diet pre surgery. Someone may have a lower bmi but that may not mean that they don't have a fatty liver. I don't drink, and I ate more carbs than fried food. So who is to say my liver is any worse than that of others? Can't wait for more variety in the post op liquid phase! Just over two weeks to go till banding day. Susannah
  12. Hi, I get a runny nose everytime I eat chillies! Susannah
  13. Hi, what foods do you miss/can't stomache anymore? I think I can give up just about anything, but I am going to really miss bread! I love bread so much. Chocolate etc will be easy for me to give up. I think I got fat from eating lots of good continental food like breads, cheeses, cakes etc. Say it ain't so, no bread of any kind any more?! Susannah
  14. Hey Bronnie, my surgeon charges $3500. Your surgeon might charge less. It differs probably. At the end of the day it is money well spent for all of us really. You can't put a price on your health. Susannah
  15. Hey, I wonder how Jess (Parvathi) is? Last I heard she was on holiday. We have the same surgeon. Susannah
  16. Hey fabulous February bandsters! Keep up the good work all. Tracy why do they make you see a psychologist over there? You know that you want and need the band, so why must you go through all of that? Susannah
  17. Hi Girls, Anna and Loretta, I am pre op liquid diet on Optifast. Tara, Its probably wishful thinking re getting anything back! Susannah:biggrin1:
  18. Hey Girls, I am day 5 of the liquid diet and I am doing very well with it. I think summer is the best time to do the liquid diet because you naturally want to eat less, and eat lighter foods. If I had to this in winter it would be harder, because I would be fanging for hot heavier foods. There is a silver lining in every cloud! LOL! Susannah
  19. Hi Gang, I am on day 5 of the liquid diet and going gangbusters!:biggrin1: Susannah
  20. Hi girlz! I read in the Herald Sun article yesterday that each patient gets 385.00 in a rebate from the surgery fee. So maybe I will get a little back from the $3500 I paid? Hope so. Susannah
  21. My punctuation is terrible today! Wan't? What is that?!!!!!lol!!!
  22. Hi ALL, Top idea Fee! I found the article interesting. I think Jacqui makes some very valid points. I really believe that each person must have their own light bulb moment, their own epipheny so to speak. I don't wan't to have a stroke or have a heart attack. I don't wan't to die young. I also have MS and last year I had a severe attack of it where I was having great difficulty walking. To look at me know you would never know it. I am in complete remission.I have one medical condition, I do not wan't any more. I also don't wan't to become a nagging former fattie. There is nothing worse than a former fattie or an ex smoker. People have to come to the decision by themselves. Susannah
  23. Hi Bronnie, Not sure about your doc, But I think patients like us that also have additional health conditions such as MS get checked out more, namely the sleep tests. Your doc may not though. I had to wait several weeks for my sleep test, and then 2 weeks for the results. Susannah
  24. Hi All, In a weird way I will be ready for the post op liquid phase because I will already have done 3 weeks of optifast. It may not be as much a shock to the system. Susannah
  25. Hi Anna, Glad to her from you. I was wondering where you had been. Don;t worry about the Christmas binge, Just get up into that saddle again.:biggrin1: I am day 3 on 3 weeks of Optifast. How did you go with it? Any tips. Getting the lassoo put around me guts on 2/2/07:eek: Susannah
