  1. Dr. Kim and staff are great. As far as DFW surgeons go he is top shelf. Good look with your surgery, you having it at forrest park? That facility is great. I'm starting week 4 post-op, if you have any questions feel free to ask me anything.
  2. I would have a shake for Breakfast and lunch. For dinner i would have protien and veggies. I like the chocolate and mocha latte.
  3. I'm in week 4 post-op. I honestly don't have the food cravings I had before. I have to force myself to eat, and when I'm full my sleeve lets me know. In the beginning it freaked me out that I wasn't hungry. I used to be 357 lbs. However, I did start a low carb diet and lost about 35 before my pre-op diet. The low carb diet included 2 Atkins shakes a day. That really helped the transition to the pre-op diet which was 4 protien shakes a day for 2 weeks. Lost 23 lbs on it. I have continued to lose very well. I just started week 4 and I'm down 31 lbs, I'm currently at 268. I would tell you to get your body into weight loss mode before surgery. I believe it has really helped me continue losing at my current rate.
  4. My surgeon had me on 4 bariessential shakes a day. Ends up being about 800 calories daily. I lost 23 lbs in the 2 weeks pre-op. You may ask your surgeon if they have a a prescribed pre-op diet.
  5. Sure does sound like Dr. Kim. That was my surgeon too.
  6. I lost 23 lbs in 2 weeks pre-op. I don't think 20 lbs would be out of the question.
  7. Yeap, and you can share with friends. Feel free to add me if you want. Name is maxskillz there also.
  8. I'm 3 weeks post op my heart rate and bp have gone down. I may actually get off the bp meds i was on 3 and now down to one. This surgery can help, but alot of it has to do with dropping the excess weight. I've lost 83 from my highest weight. That was in april.
  9. One week, sleeved on monday back to work the next monday.
  10. We were sleeved on the same day, and i dont have an appetite either. It is so wierd and kind of freaked me out at first. I look at is as a good thing.
  11. Way to go that rocks!!! Keep up the good work you will be a your goal before you know it.
  12. I agree with the above completely. I wish I would have done it sooner.
  13. How much walking are you doing? That helps alot with the gas pain. For about a week and a half post op i would get a pain that would shoot up into my left shoulder from my abdomen with every drink i took. It eventually went away too.
  14. Isopure has a clear drink with 40 g of protien. They are not the best but if you mix with crystal lite they are alot easier to drink. Being not as heavy as the protien shakes may help you keep them down. It seemed to work for me i could only have clear liquids for the first weak. Week 2 when i was able to have the protien shakes it wasnt any problem.
  15. Get back on track, and you are probably ok.
  16. Welcome, and congrats on the start of your journey. It will be hard work, but well worth it in the long run.
  17. 357 highest weight. 323 at start of pre op diet. 299 day of surgery on 7/30/12. 274.5 today, @ 15 days post op. 82 total, 48.5 since start of pre op diet.
  18. Well said. I have to admit that my 5 year old has been a big help. He is always so eager to help daddy.
  19. The premier shakes are pretty good. I've used the post-op and they have help tremendously with 30g of protein each. My doc actually recommended them. Pre-op I had Bari-essential shakes. They were not bad. As a tip get some sf torino syrups, instant decaf coffee. Throw it in the blender with some ice and you have a pretty decent frappachino tasting shake. You will want to find some flavorings to change things up once in a while. PB2 powdered Peanut Butter with a chocolate shake gives it a peanut butter cup taste. Just a couple of tips.

I will second the being on track helping with the weight loss. I was at 357 while jumping through the insurance hoops. During that time I was able to loose 34 lbs on on a low-carb high protein diet. Since proteins are of such high importance post-op it seemed the natural way to do it. So I started my 2 week pre-op diet at 323. By my surgery date I was 299, and I am 13 days out and at 275. I strongly believe that already having my body used to losing weight has helped m post op. So start what you can now get your body used to giving up the fat and it will be very beneficial post-op.
