  1. I have hypothyroidism and I was first diagnosed with chronic fatigue. It sucks. The good news is I take one tiny little pill of levothyroxine per day and I feel fine. Occasionally I'm still exhausted, especially if I forget a dose. But before meds I was like a walking text book for hypothyroid symptoms. Unfortunately it took 10 years and several docs before they got a proper diagnosis. They would just tell me I'm fat because I'm depressed and lazy pretty much and tried to put me on anti depressants. I refused because I'm not depressed or lazy and I knew it. I just kept switching drs until they got it right. My thyroid doc said if I had not gotten medication I would have gained another 30lbs. The meds do not help you loss weight by the way. I think it slowed the gain though. It is actually a very treatable condition and in my case responded well to treatment. Good luck!
  2. Same thing happened to me today. Everyone else was chowing down on grilled chicken, corn on the cob, potato sa;ad, chips and salsa etc......on top of that they kept asking if they could get me a plate grrrr.
  3. You will get there! I had to resort to unflavored protein in my soup to do it. I was able to drink two shakes today for the first time. They are just so dense! Good luck to you!
  4. 11 days out and I was finally able to get in all my protein and liquids!
  5. It has been the most annoying thing for me too, well until the nerve pain started near the incision:-( I was really glad when I could drink without feeling like I swallowed a super ball with my drink! I'm 11 days out now but the last three have been better
  6. Congratulations! I'm glad your home and doing better. It does get better day by day. I had the tight ball feeling for the first week or so, then as the swelling in my stomach subdided that eased up.
  7. I think the burping is completely normal. I have the same thing, as do many I have heard from here.. good luck to you!
  8. Hmmm. Not to beat the same ol drum, but isn't that a song too? "You got the peaches I got the cream........."
  9. I am having it today. I had it right after in recovery but not since. It feels muscular to me.
  10. Your welcome! I did learn the hard way don't cook it with your food, add it after lol! Good luck!
  11. Yay? I'm getting ready to go eat my yummy soup now lol!
  12. I don't know if sprouts is regional but I would guess you may be able to find it at your local farmers market. The company itself may have a website.
  13. The brand is Whey Factors. It is non denatured, microfiltered, GMO free, no sugar added, and no artificial sweeteners. There is 16g of Protein, 1g carbs, 1g sugar per scoop.
  14. I just found the Pacific brand organic creamed soups and organic unflavored protein called natural whey. I am in heaven! The potato leak soup completely rocked and I didn't even notice the protein in it, much less have to gag it down! I'm soooooo happy! Now maybe I can meet that protein requirement! The protein wasn't too expensive either!
  15. I take prilosec twice a day for heartburn and actigall twice a day to prevent gallstones. I'm only a week out so I'm afraid I can't help with the feeling normal question. Good luck to you!
  16. I have read this article! I spent so much time just trying to find one little piece of info! There is much more now, but 13 years ago there was zilch! We just had her retested because now they can tell a little of what genetic info is missing. It won't help us at this point, buut my prayer is it will help another family not go through what we did!
  17. I am in the metro Phoenix area and would be glad to drive you!
  18. I seem to have a constantly runny nose. It is clear, but really annoying. The first several days I did have the "tickle" making me cough. Ouch! Good thing for my belly bean!
  19. I went through Dr. Chen at Banner Bariatrics. The staff is first rate and helped me work through all ins problems. The hopistal stay was also top notch. Very attentive nurses who were very sweet. I would recommend Banner to anyone. There is a good reason they are a center of excellence! I was approved July 23rd and had surgery August 6th. I was so impressed with Dr. Chen in the required seminar I specifically requested him. He is carin and gentle. He actually made me feel so much better about myself in my first consult. Cara Codner is a God send! She spent so much time and effort getting me approved when everyone else said my ins wouldn't pay. Donna is a wonderful NUT who is also a fellow sleever. She called me out of the blue today just to check on me. Good luck to you!
  20. My hospital would not discharge me unless I had someone to drive me home. I was driving 4 days out, just short distance to take my kids to and from school, but I didn't take any pain meds if I knew I had to drive.
  21. I had this problem for years. the summer eve wipes work GREAT! I also would go with a blow dryer on cool setting. After washing. I also used hydrogen peroxide to clean the whole vaginal area. I religiously use panty liners too. All powders seemed to make it worse for me.When I had a boil I did go to the gyn to have it taken care of. I live in Phx AZ, so overweight and swamp crotch are not a good combo! After loosing the first 30lbs I have no more issue though. I still keep the summers eve for these ridiculously hot days. Monistat also makes a product called cool wipes, which I actually prefer because they also disinfect, but they are hard to find. I wear loose comfy pants and cotton panties for work to help also. Overall I think washing with peroxide and keeping extra dry along with a pantyliner worked best for me.
