  1. Comorbidities are things like diabetes, high blood pressure etc. An extenuating health factor that the excess weight makes worse.
  2. It depends on many factors. If you are 5 ft tall and your target weight is 100 you would be 140lbs overweight. If you have comorbities which require rapid weight loss to control you would still need it. Every person is different and has different needs.
  3. I started going to the gym at 530am because that is the only time by bf and gym buddy can make it. My husband was shocked because I have refused to do that since I had to in college. My response was I didn't go through all this to let an early hour stop me! I still hate mornings, but I love getting healthy! My BIL is a personal trainer and he just designed a "ninja" work out to shred fat and kick my butt! Hopefully I live to tell lol! Good job everyone! Keep up the good work!
  4. Great job for jumping back on the wagon! You all can do it! You will tear it up!
  5. Congratulations! One step closer to healthy! I don't wear anything special except a girdle. I'm just 5 weeks out and still have incision pain and that helps. I usually wear basketball shorts (I may be addicted to Nike) and a loose tshirt. Good shoes are a must. I wear asics now but also love Nike and Addidas runners. Nike shoes can be linked to your ipod to track your progress. That will be my next pair. It will be my reward for hitting 250. Only 16 lbs to go!
  6. I know there is a forum here for band to sleeve revisions. Maybe check that out to see what some issues with the band vs sleeve are?
  7. I was told I pulled a muscle sneezing, but man I wish the pain would go away already!
  8. I was further out than 6 days though. I think it was at about 2 and a half weeks or so.
  9. I am 5 weeks out almost and spent the last two in a stall. I didn't go to the gym for 3 days and forced myself to eat more calories and the stall just broke yesterday. It is very frustrating. Good luck to you!
  10. I love soup! My family teases me because I eat it so much! I wish it were soup season here!
  11. I have started drinking what my son refers to as my poop potion. It is citracel with miralax. I have not been constipated since mixing the two together.
  12. I know! I gained back 16 lbs in fluid I had to losoe again. It was very disconcerting because I didn't expect it. I don't think I was warned about it. I don't doubt my decision, but I did doubt my progress too. I know I just have to be patient. I know I will be successful, I just have to wait for my body to get out of shock and catch up with itself. You will do great and we will look FABULOUS when all is said and done.
  13. The first week or two you have to drop all the water weight from the surgery itself. So don't stress that. You aren't doing anything wrong. It took me two weeks. I'm at four weeks now and have been in a stall for a week and a half. Very frustrating but my pants fell off when I walked out of the house so I know I'm loosing inches. I was depressed for the first two and a half weeks. I was told it is due to the rapid release of estrogen from burning fat. Makes sense. Just cut yourself a break and take care of yourself! You will do great!
  14. I just had my first cup this morning. Didn't bother me at all. 4 weeks out
  15. Thanks! I could do protein shakes but I didn't much because I don't like them. It was totally worth it!
  16. My preop diet was 14 days clear liquids. I did eat solids occasionally when I felt like I was going to hit the deck, but not at all in the last three days. I lost 16 lbs. My surgeon was very pleased, although I never mentioned the solids to him. I did choose high protein, low fat, low carb choices.
  17. My youngest son looked tortured when I told him there is spinach in them. By the second bite he was asking for seconds!
