You are an idiot to post this here. I don't have any problem wih people posting their stories (even ones with bad outcomes), but in no way shape or form is this kind of situation common. The opposite is true. So stop trying to scare people away from LIFE SAVING surgery with your story. It would have been fine if you had told the story and left it at that. But no, you have to punctuate it at the end with your moronic advice and how you would never have weight loss surgery. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx violation of forum rules. People die from having their wisdom teeth out- should they not have surgery to alleviate their pain?

Ok, everyone, I'm hoping this cheers you up a bit, here is how I feel.....we all are going to lose at our own rate. I've been sleeved for 4 months & am down 51 lbs. YES!!! That's 51 pounds in 4 MONTHS!!! I would never have been able to lose that by just dieting! My point, try to think on the bright side, you're losing I've hit slumps, stalls, not exercised like I should, haven't watched what I eat close enough. Could I have lost more by now, maybe, but I'm doing what I can do, day by day. You're going to have good days & bad, hopefully more good ones. I wish all of you the best of luck & keep up the GREAT WORK!!! Remember, this a journey you will travel the rest of your life....keep smiling

I went in and met with Dr. Kim twice... both times I was highly disappointed... I explained that I lived South of DFW and would need a hospital closer to home... he actually told me to rent a car service if HIS Forest Park Hospital was too far to drive. He stated that he could control the costs at HIS hospital, since I was a self pay.. I left his office and went to Fort Worth Lap Band and had surgery with the best doctor!.. Dr. Adam Smith... I had my surgery at Baylor Southlake.. Awesome hospital.. Turns out that Dr. Kim did the same surgery, for the same cost at Baylor Southlake... Made me very unhappy to find out that it was a bit of a scam, paywise with Dr. Kim...

*I will not miss feeling as happy and sexy as everyone else in the room, until I see the photos and see how huge and repulsive I look. I feel foolish for thinking I could even remotely look good.
*I will not miss deliberately looking away from attractive men so I don't see the look of disgust on their faces.
*I will not miss wearing the same clothes over and over until they are barely shreds because shopping for something that fits and looks ok is emotionally exhausting.
*I will not miss being out of breath when sitting down for a meal in a restaurant. Especially if the seats are low back and I have to sit forward, squashing my stomach making it hard to breathe.
*I will not miss being absolutely petrified of chairs, booths or anything that has to support my weight. Being stuck trying to leave a restaurant because there is no path through all the chairs that I can squeeze through.
*I will not miss getting along with a guy really well and having heaps in common, laughing and having a good time and then for them to say how much tey like me, but can't get past the weight issue.

Here's a tag! Name the top 5 things you will not miss or will be glad to say "goodbye" to forever post op! Here's mine to start
    1. The stares from people. Followed by the whispers. I can still hear you when I have literally just walked past u and u say to your friend "look how big/fat she is"
    2. The sweating. I'm 25 years old...I am not anywhere near menopause but omg being overweight gives me a glimpse of what night sweats and hot flashes are gonna feel like.
    3. The smell...I don't know how else to put it. But ever since I started gaining weight there's that smell that comes with being overweight...tmi perhaps but it's a foul odor from my folds..and especially under my breasts (im top heavy)
    4. The disappointment at clothing stores. You know when you see something and you think of course that's gonna fit! But I'm gonna try it on anyways...and it's way too tight? Not gonna miss that! Or worse when ur too tired or annoyed to try it on at the store and u go home to try it and realize its too tight..go to return it and when the cashier says "was there something wrong with it?" and u say yeah it was too big/lose when the truth is it was the opposite but u were too ashamed to say.
    5. Being out of breath after the smallest things - walking 10 stairs to the 2nd level of my house..are u kidding me? Then having to sit for 5 mins So I can catch my breath! Forget sports or running or just being able to run around with little kids..I can't even walk without feeling winded!!

I was on puréed before leaving the hospital too. I have noticed with those who left on puréed do not have the same issues with hair loss further down the track. I think that this is because the body is less in shock. So if the surgeon thinks you can have puréed, then I recommend it for sure. I am 15 weeks post op today, lost over 70 pounds, and feeling fantastic.
Follow your surgeon, your NUT, and most importantly listen to your body.

I had my surgery Sept 25th 2011. I weighed 225. I now weigh 156. For me...it was easy. At first it restricted my eating quite a bit. Now I eat normally. I can eat anything or drink anything I want. I just don't eat the massive amount I used to. I'm still loosing. Not alot, but it is coming off very slowly. I get alot of feedback from people who havn't seen me in a while. Was it worth it. Hell yes! I would be 250 by now If I hadn't done it. Dr. Rodriguez in Mexico was great! I have absolutely ZERO regret, and I never ever got sick, I recommend it for those who feel desperate. That feel they will always be fat. For those that have no self control over quantity of food. That was my issue. Good luck to all!!!

    Hi All,
I am a licensed cosmetologist and before you get upset with your hair loss, on average you lose anywhere from 80 to 100 strands of hair per day that's normal. If you are losing more than that 100 per day it will taper off. Surgery is shock to the body and this can be a side effect make sure you continue taken your Multivitamin. And yes, it will grow back!

I couldn't figure out the flood of compliments this week. People say things like: "You are shrinking before my eyes" "You are disappearing" etc.
I keep losing and regaining the same pound. This has gone on for weeks. 14s were a little lose and 12s fit better. Lo and behold, tonight I slipped into a size 10.
I know you lose inches sometimes while not losing pounds, but this is weird.

I'm sure she is jealous. When I had insurance that didn't cover VSG i found myself so jealous when friends would have it. Having had the surgery yesterday I can already say this far from the easy way out. AND and if we have a tool available to us why shouldn't we reach for it. God knows, I've struggled forever with my weight. I'm thankful for a second chance.
I too have kept it on the d/l on FB. Eventually it will come out and we always have critics. The best way to deal with them is to be a success and to remember they are human too.

Someone else had a great idea that I will share with you -- they slice up a cucumber and use that to replace crackers. It lets you eat the spreads with a healthier low carb choice.
I prefer salty to sugary Snacks, and using Lays would be a gateway for me. I am trying to avoid chips, and it is a struggle for me. I don't recommend using them.
