  1. LOL Judy! Wall border should come with a disclaimer.. May cause insanity & nightmares!! Here's the lamp: Before & After. I think it turned out decent enough, Russ really likes it he keeps compliment it.. aw. Terry, she is 30, his bro is 22 LOL.. They just left, and I went to get pancakes from Guthrie's down the road and they're closed on Sundays! Arrr.. so now I'm googling pancake recipes.
  2. Today was fun.. heh. Russ' bro is in town with his latest g/f. Russ sprung that on me when they were on the way, so we had a huge battle last night about him letting a g/f we don't know come--a g/f who has to be crazy to be dating one of his brothers. Today she and I talked while the guys played games.. his bro is younger than us, 22 I think. This girl kept saying things like 'My oldest is 9" --so she has 1 kid.. then "My youngest is 2"--oh 2.. ends up she has 3. And she's not divorced officially. Not even going to go there. She's nice, but she has stayed drunk (like his bro) since they got here, and as a sober pregnant woman they annoy me quite a bit--lots of nervous rambling about things I don't care about and people I don't know, but I had to keep smiling and laughing. Anyway, went grocery shopping.. ugh. I start out good, with my good shopping list and good intentions.. but then the hershey bar cries for me, as well as donuts--I did pass on the donuts, but that's the only thing! I know I will eat a whole box of donuts at once, so I don't get them.. but I did get hersheys, and strawberry shortcake ingredients, and a chocolate dipped strawberry from the bakery, and a chocolate dipped/iced/cookie from the bakery.. woops, they slipped into my buggy!! Anyway, I'm counting the days till I get my band filled. I always said, I don't feel like my band is a tool necessarily, because for ME it was doing ALL the work.. and I find that to be so true now that my restriction has lax days. It gives me an inch and I take a mile. Of course you guys are more than weight loss friends, hell I don't even think about our weight loss when I come here to talk to you guys, unless someone brings it up. I come to read about what's going on in your lives, and to ramble about mine. When something major happens, I can't wait to come tell you guys about it! Love my V's, and thank God for the band for more than just the weight loss but also for introducing me to you guys!! I took the lamp I bought today for the nursery--it didn't match the set, but it was jungle babies so it was close.. well I re-did the lampshade today (painted & decoupaged pictures from leftover wallpaper border) and re-painted the base.. so it matches now! It didn't turn out as cute as the wall hangings did, but it works. The original lamp has cute baby elephant and lion figurines on the brown base, with a leopard print shade.. I made the base & shade a pale green with the decoupage pictures on top. I'll take a pic tomorrow and show ya'll. Tomorrow we do the cookout at my parent's for all our birthdays.. woohoo. I won't tell you my evil piehole reportings, it may make you keel over, especially if 2 french fries is evil. But I had chicken fingers & french fries for lunch..and tilapia and a baked potato for dinner.
  3. Hm, not long. I didn't even need pain meds beyond tylenol for a couple of days. I had it done on a Friday and went back to work on Monday with no complaints.
  4. They did operate to move mine. This surgery was a breeze compared to the first! My doc also moved my port to try to keep it from happening again. It was in my belly.. he moved it to my chest (between my breasts) and said he put a lot of extra stitches, stitching it to a flat hard place.. instead of the jiggly belly! It's also right under the skin now, so I can feel every inch of it. Anyway, the only bad part of the surgery is that I was self-pay, so I had to come up with the money for another surgery (I believe it ended up being another $2,500 for hospital/anesthesia--and my doc didn't charge for his services). They filled it while I was under, and I started dropping weight wonderfully after the fix, which made up for all the inconvenience.
  5. Magnesium Citrate never did much for me (or DH when he was impacted), so I wouldn't be shocked that it didn't help too much. Eating better like others suggested is a good preventative, but the one time I was 'clogged' up and needed relief.. my mom bought me anal suppositories (Ducalax -Sp??). She said they work great. I was really against anal suppositories, so I bought a bottle of prune juice. Decided I would do prune juice, and if that didn't help, I'd use the suppositories. Anyway I drank about 2 cups of prune juice--which is apparently a lot, I didn't know when to stop,I was just drinking it (I did not like the taste so I guzzled big sips). That did the job, within an hour I was on the toilet. Never did end up needing the suppositories, but i keep them just in case.
  6. Actually, yes.. mine were this way for the first 6 months till they finally realized my port was flipped. They fought and fought and poked me several times.. I just grit my teeth and sweat through it.. but after I found out all that time my port was flipped, I thought back on the times they 'thought' they were actually filling it.. it was a weird sensation and there was resistence. Maybe your port is flipped too, and they were trying to inject saline into the back, thus it wouldn't go :scared2: Otherwise, kind of odd for them to get that much resistence just so. Might want to ask to do a fluero..
  7. I got the Wii & Wii Fit for Xmas, although we finally got it only about 2 weeks ago. I love it, it's a lot of fun and I like competing with DH and beating his score--which motivates him to do better too.. heh!
  8. I was shocked.. SHOCKED.. to find out recently, my group of married women (my age) that I hang out with, all of them EXCEPT ME do anal stimulation on their husbands. I know men's prostate can be stimulated that way and it's supposedly fantastic, but if I go near my husband's pooper, he better be like dying from a bull impailing him or something similar. I don't consider myself prude, but that's one of those things.. if I go there, I can never UNgo there, so it'd probably ruin our sex life. :scared2:
  9. People noticed all throughout the journey, but it may be since they knew and were trying to be encouraging.. In any event, at -100lbs lost, I looked at old photos and could see a DRASTIC difference, until then I barely noticed.. I did go down in sizes, but when I looked in the mirror, I looked like what I always thought I looked like anyway. Even now I still don't see it as much, where my husband will see an older pic and go 'I can't believe how different you look now' and I barely notice.
  10. So don't let 2 french fries sabotage you. You slipped, now move along :scared2:
  11. You're not on any antibiotics from the surgery or anything are you Jenn? if so, don't tan!! Just got back from TGIF's, got a porkchop.. der. Can't get it to go down, so got it to-go to try to work on it at work.
  12. Woohoo Pam that video is so OFFICIAL and important, since I'm not sure what the actual position is, that video just WOW'd me lol. You go girl, so proud :tt2: So I missed a meal and it DID kill me!!!!! First meal I've missed in 6 months. Heh! I missed my 4th meal too. We got home from work last night, I watched Lost and promptly fell asleep at 7pm (I was so tired some reason--maybe all the getting mad at work wore me out!). So around 3am I woke up, and I was hungry--but still exhausted, so I rolled over and went back to sleep. 4am I woke up again with horrible heartburn. I got up to get something to drink (getting up didn't cause this, walking around the kitchen did) I got super light headed and started seeing spots, then my ears started ringing. I barely made it back to bed and closed my eyes to let it all go away. Then I felt sick.. so I took 1 sip of my cranberry juice (bad choice with heartburn) and went back to sleep. Woke up this morning, feeling sick still. So, no more going to bed without eating.. ugh. TGIF!! I am super hungry, can't wait till we go to lunch :/ I went to get a milk out of the vending machine this morning and our vending machine is cleared out.. bah. I'm always buying stuff on the internet, you ever try buying those SF syrups online Tracy? I know some place I use to buy low-carb food carried the Da Vinci syrups.
  13. Yeah I always try to not say it, but my mom says the pitocin stuff is extremely painful and then rarely works.. I remember my friend who had the baby last year told me 'they are going to induce me with pitocin tonight' and I was just like.. WOOHOO? She ended up having a c-section anyway. Despite all the scariness though, you've got to be super excited right?? I have gotten to the point I am TOO excited, I can't hardly wait.. and I still have 3 months!!!!! That seems like eternity right now. Last visit, doc asked if I've had contractions. Took me back, didn't realize I'm far enough along to have the false ones. I've had pains lately, but I have no idea what a contraction would feel like and I hear you KNOW, so I figure that's not it. What's it feel like? If he does come soon, get DH to post for us what the status is
  14. Sigourney Weaver lets her dignity slip as she flashes her underwear knickers on daytime chat show | Mail Online LOL
  15. Poor DD Michelle  School sucks! I was made fun of in Middle School (not only for weight, but being the tallest person in school at the time), then I dunno what happened.. I moved to a different district for high school, got in with the 'cool kids' and never was made fun of.. so I had great self-esteem and didn't realize how fat I had gotten!! I never got counseled in middle school, but I believe I told ya'll the story where the person who always picked on me, called me the name at the mall when I was there with my mom once.. I started crying so my mom (my hero!) called the girl out.. the girl who made fun of me was fat too--but you know, some reason that didn't matter to me when they made fun of me.. so my mom tells the girl she's ugly & fat (my mom who was particularly skinny and sexy at this time) and makes her cry.. ta-da. My mom said she use to feel horrible when I'd come home crying about being picked on.. I'm nervous about my kids, I so don't want them to have weight issues. On the other hand, kids will get picked on for SOMETHING.. so even if it isn't weight, they'll have something 'wrong' with them. My mom was tall and skinny, and they always called her sparrow legs--my granny too. My customer thing isn't resolved, but I got a rational answer to give to the customer (with help from the people I was waiting on, who aren't hormonal!). I await their answer, I'm sure I won't like it but I'm trying hard to keep a level head. No chocolate in sight hah, but I did get a fruit plate w/cream cheese dipping sauce from the deli down the road.. mmm. I also had 1/2 of a poboy sandwhich with roast beef & onions. Can't wait till this weekend, I need to relax and take care of things I'm behind on. Russ is having one of his brothers come down, and Sunday we are celebrating a few birthdays with the family (me, my aunt and my cousin). But Saturday I will be catching up on cleaning and TV (yes, my important tv shows!!).
  16. I think pregnancy hormones are taking over me right now!!!! I am livid about a customer tryin to screw us over (which is really nothing new), but the people I need in the office to help me sort this out are at lunch so I'm sitting here with the paperwork just getting mad. I have been trying to breathe and calm myself down.. I shouldn't be this upset!! I just can't let it go. It's like when my b/c pills use to make me crazy, I can tell I'm not being rational but I can't help it. Breathe, breathe..
  17. My new favorite roast is the one Terry told us about.. putting the pepperoncini juice into the crockpot. YUM. I don't use the whole jar anymore, I normally use 1/2 jar, 1/2 jar worth of water and Lipton's french onion powder.. and sometimes garlic powder on top of that. When it's done cooking, I take the meat out and put in a bag of instant brown rice into the crockpot for 20 minutes, cooks up in the flavor of the spicy meat.. mmm..
  18. This chinese restaurant across the street from us gives everything in re-usable rubber containers. Soup as well as entrees.. it's my husband's favorite place to eat, so he gets take-out probably once a week. I have so many, I've actually been throwing them away!!
  19. I read the beginning & end of The Shack.. I didn't like it. The Ham & Cheese soup didn't reheat well for me, but the 2nd day I added a spoon of guacamole dip (Dean's brand--it's like green sour cream) instead of Sour Cream.. added a different taste. I just ate a brownie with cream cheese icing. People gotta quit having birthdays around here!! I give in 1/3 times they bring something in. I can do pretty good about passing up sheet cake--even though I love sheet cake... but when they bring in something 'different', that's another story. I got some maternity shirts from Gap, which I've liked.. I bought some more because I like to layer--I almost always wear a long sleeve maternity tee with a short sleeve maternity shirt over the top every day. So I got some more shirts.. well this one I got today goes down to mid-thigh. Looks like a dress?! I feel even more frumpy now in this thing. Did 24m on wii-fit last night. I actually got across the tight rope!! I was proud, since 3 people at work--we keep talking about it, no one has gotten all the way across. Most of them time out. I was down to 9 seconds with a few steps to go, so I started running in place to get across lol. I think I literally made it with 1 second to go. Also the wii-fit asks you about other people on there. It asked Russell yesterday "How do you think LaLa is doing?" and asks if I look more toned, slimmer, etc.. he picked 'more toned'. which is a lie.. so when it asked me about him, I put 'he looks the same' and he acted hurt.. but I explained, if I don't LIE now, when he really does look different he'll feel good about himself. I *know* i don't look more toned, so for him to put that--did nothing for me. So one day if I DO look more toned, I won't really know because he lied to begin with! And that's that.. oh and we made RSVP for our V'day dinner.. we go to this place called Pauli's every year and I get their duck.. mm..
  20. I have the smallest Allergan band, 9.75" & 4cc.. My doc decides which one to put in, when he gets in there. He thought I would need the 10", but ends up I didn't. I don't know anything about the Realize band though, so no help there.
  21. I just sold a huge job today for inauguration stuff.. I guess it's music that was played there.. anyway, job cost lots of $$ and someone confused my customer with another sales' customer so he's been walking around bragging about the sale.. when he got around to me, I said no--that's my customer. Teehee.
  22. Ohhhh one other thing, I didn't give your addresses to the girl throwing my baby shower, because I didn't want ya'll to think you had to send a gift since you're all coming to Alabama & that's my gift from ya'll ) I didn't think any of you would be able to come, but if you do let me know, it's going to be Feb. 28 and I'll have her send you an invite.
  23. We went to the mall for lunch.. The chinese place there is just gross, and I remember growing up it was my fav. place! I tried sesame chicken, 2 bites of it.. yuck. So I got an egg drop soup, ate 2/3 of it. Then stopped at a new place in the food court, that sells burgers. Not a single person went there while we were there, should have told me something.. but I ordered a burger, took 20 minutes to cook it (jeez). It was not good, so I threw it away after 2 bites. Good news is, they had sheet cake and banana pudding and I wanted them both sooooo bad. I SAID NO!!! And I didn't die. Yay all us didn't die today from saying -no- to food. Almost all the stores in the mall are going out of business, including K-B Toy Store. We went by to see if they had any infant toys, everything is 70% off. The place was pretty much picked through, only found one infant toy and it's something that attaches to a play mat, so we passed on it. Oh well. I ordered a Lamaze toy, which get great reviews everywhere and are pretty cheap.. I got Morti the Moose Hehe! Oh I forgot, I ordered this last week..
  24. The New Whey are the ones I use to get too, the grape was the 'best' to me, but I didn't 'drink' any of them.. they all tasted disgusting, and the thought of mixing them in another drink which meant I had to drink it for a while was a horrible idea to me. I would 'shoot' 1/2 at a time. Once in the morning, once in the evening. Much like alcohol, shoot half and chased it with water..
  25. As someone who is no model bandster when it comes to junk food.. Using a daily journal like myplate (that's just the one I like the most, but there's plenty out there), to log how much you eat, really helps me--especially in the beginning. Log every single thing that goes in your mouth. I never cut out junk food completely, which is why I think if I ever lost the band I'd definitely be up a creek.. but meanwhile, if I have a snack size bag of chips or a candy bar...log it, and adjust from there on how I will eat for the rest of the day.. Say I had a chocolate bar that upped my calories, when I have dinner I'll pick a lower-cal veggie (like asparagus or green beans) instead of something like corn or potatoes.
