Shrinkin' Violets Part 3 Read HERE!
Thanks for the info Kat!! Wheetsin said the same as LJM, she said it only paralyzed half of her.. I talked to my mom about it (she use to work as a nurse helper or something when I was a kid), and she said the trick is people are irritated and rush through it.. but she said if you tell the anesthesiologist 'YES this is numbing my left side" not "yeah kind of" etc.. or NO I don't feel the tingle in my right foot, kind of thing.. then it will work fine. Fingers crossed. I've seen 'scare' documents against epidurals, but with my back problems, I've had several epidurals with no adverse affects, so I'm not worried too much.. only worry is I've never been AWAKE for epidurals, so I have to make sure not to look at the needle

Okay Men...need some advice
Seeing that she hasn't been active on the forum in about a month, maybe she found a good man in TN. My husband was from TN, they aren't all bad

Uhm.. I hope you mean he ate the rest of what was on the plate, and NOT a PB. Makes me a little queasy thinking about that. Oh and this is a Smart One, didn't see a Lean Cuisine version of it!

I know, Jaime's story breaks my heart.. I just can't imagine, in fact I really don't want to imagine that right now  Since you mentioned it, I met DH in February 8 years ago!

Very sad update
I am so sorry Jaime, I know there's nothing I can say to make this any better for you, so just know you and your family will be in my thoughts.

Yay Kat! Glad there's some good news in there, maybe it was completely misdiagnosed and it's something a lot easier to treat.. think like House! Judy it's funny you mentioned the pasta thing, I bought a bunch of Lean Cuisine & Smart Ones to bring for lunch, and I don't like italian--but some reason most of those are geared toward italian! Anyway, I've had meatloaf/cabbage rolls/mashed potatoes, etc. this week up till today. I decided this morning, I'd bring one of the pastas.. it's angel hair with squash, zuccini, and spinach in a marinara. The pic looks fantastic, but I know they never end up like the pic..so I'm skeptical. So now I'm skeptical and curious to see if I'll be PB'ing it all day! We're suppose to get bad storms today around noon. We've been having 60-70 degree weather, right out of the coldest I can ever remember (10's last week!!) our pipes froze up again last week, I didn't even think about dripping it.. but luckily when we got home from work it was fixed... I opened up our cabinets. It never got above freezing that day, so news was saying if your pipes do freeze up, they won't unfreeze for a week.. ick.. yay opening cabinets. And now, that's all a distant memory as people are walking around work in SHORTS.

I was thinking huddled in a corner after going insane! And people have told me to start stocking up on kotex for the 6 weeks after, which sounds just lovely. Trying to take care of a newborn, breastfeeding, healing a tear/stitches, and dealing with a kotex mess? UGH! Happy thoughts.. little feets, little toes, little nose, etc. etc. Oh I think I told ya'll, I'm not going in being brave or trying to hold out.. I want an IV, some pain something, etc.. as soon as they can do it. I don't plan to go to the hospital till I feel like I'm close (although being I don't know what that feels like, I'll probably be wrong).. I'd rather do majority of 20 hour+ labor from home if possible. Hate sitting in hospitals.

Not that I can tell. My placenta is anterior, so that's why I didn't feel movement for so long. Now I feel him regularly, in fact I was telling Russ today is the most active I've ever felt him. I normally don't feel him at work, but he's been kicking up a storm today. Woke me up at 6am with a lot of kicking. Must be growing  Anyway, I always feel kicking, and sometimes it's in 2 different spots (one lower, one up by ribs, or on each side of me) so I guess it's hands & feet moving together.. because of the positioning of these, I know he's moved where he had to have 'rolled' or 'flipped', but I don't actually feel that movement. When I saw him on this last ultrasound, I was shocked to see he was moving ALL THE TIME--kicking mostly.. but I didn't feel any of the movements we saw on the screen while I was there... so I don't feel all of his moving at this point. I'm reading birth stories on the net right now. Trying to get myself prepared, I'm still freaking out about the whole childbirth part of this. I have a phobia of catheters, and it sounds like they are routine with epiderals now.. I don't want episiotomy, or stitches.. I want him to just drop by with a stork one day!!!

I have been, and it just pisses me off. But so does the bail out and stimulus, and everything else that translates to people abusing the system and taking hard earned money from those of us who work.

Recipes - Violet Style!
(The link isn't working Terry!) First time I've made salmon at home and I not only liked it, I looooved it!! The place I got the recipe from, the reviews said it's a good way to cover up not-so-fresh fish, and gets rid of fishy taste, etc.. I have to agree. The salmon I get at Publix, even though it's in the 'fresh meats' area, is always a little fishy. For 2 salmon filets, I reduced amount of sauce--to recipe below--, but it still ended up being about 1/3c extra--which you could keep for tuna salad or something later. 2/3c mayo (lite is ok) 1/4c of mustard (I used dijon) 1/2 tsp thyme 1/2 tsp oregeno 1/2 tsp basil (I don't like basil so I just added a dash) 1/2 tsp garlic powder 1 tsp of dill --- Wash & pat dry the salmon, sprinkle with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Then I squeeze lemon juice on mine. Mix together all ingredients above, cover the salmon with sauce on a baking sheet. Bake uncovered. Bake @ 375, for 10m for every 1". YUM.

Wow, so much going on. Judy & Kat, your families continue to be in my prayers!! I made salmon with a mayo/mustard/dill sauce on top.. was very good, so now I have a salmon recipe I can make at home and like. Russ liked it too-he normally doesn't like sauces. I have a bad /pressure pain in my lower abdomen & hooha, feels like a bowling ball.. I think Carson is in a bad spot. I rocked on all 4's for about 5 minutes and the pain feels better, but still a lot of pressure. Oof.

Shrinkin' Violets Part 3 Read HERE!
I have had a permanent sickness for months now, it flares up at night, and fades throughout the day but never goes away..so I either can't taste, or barely taste things (which may be why I like really flavorful stuff right now). My eyes and nose always itch and in the middle of the night I wake up having sneezing fits, and in the morning I go through LITERALLY 20 tissues or more of snot. Doc told me to try Claritin, Benadryl, and Zyrtec--none did anything. She has me on a 5-day Zpak right now, I am on day 5 with no change.. oh well. I am just hoping when I have Carson it goes away, it's a permanent cold/allergy thing that isn't treatable!! I thought maybe I developed allergies to something, so I meticulously cleaned our bedroom (since that's where I am at night/morning) and vacuumed the mattress, headboard, blinds, etc.. and no change. Then we went to Tunica, thought if I'm allergic to my feather pillows or the cats suddenly, it would stop.. no change in Tunica, same pattern, fades throughout the day then full force at night.. so.. LUCKILY that means I'm not allergic to my cats (I was worried). Had 1/2 cherry yoplait yogurt for b'fast & 1/2c of apple juice. Having a Smart Ones meatloaf for lunch & a cup of applesauce. Also have 1/2c of root beer. Had 20oz of Water so far.. going to make salmon for dinner--I've yet to make it at home where I liked it, but Russ always likes it and eats mine.. so then I heat up something else. Going to try yet again, with another recipe. Sounds gross, but some food show I watched showed that you can steam cook salmon in your dish washer-- and I swear it looked YUMMY lol. I told Russ about it, and he said I better not cook our dinner in the dish washer.

Preggy progress/Updates/Tell us how you're doing!
I didn't feel mine for a while, I believe it was at 23-24 weeks. But I have an anterior placenta, which apparently 'cushions' it.

banded,5 weeks pregnant and spotting :(
No.. but if you read the pregnancy books (or infinite literature on the net) spotting is not a sign of bad things. HcG levels, I'm not personally familiar with what low levels mean (I mean I do, but I don't know if that's a bad sign or just a not-typical sign). Many women spot however.. Time to call the doc? It's morning!

Kat, Manda is in my prayers... I have been reading what you said about Kinsey, I am confused.. what is oozing? Did she cut her hooha? How did she cut so bad just from falling on the tub? Maybe I missed a part of this, but I thought I read it from the beginning! And you're not a bad g'ma, kids are accident prone after all..and very resiliant! Just got back from grocery shopping, forgot how expensive Atkins is.. we spent more than we've ever spent before.. the cashier even made comments, which irks me. He asked if we had kids and we said not yet and he's just like wow.. what cows these people must be. Unpacking groceries I see what happened, Russ bought a billion cheese snacks.. seriously, took up 2 drawers in the fridge!!! I am making duck tonight. I also bought quail--I love duck, never had quail, but thought I might like it, so I'm going to try it one day. I did good and got my 100 calorie packs and veggies, fruits, etc.. and I didn't realize how good for you Cream of Wheat was. I haven't made it in years, I like it, just don't think about it.. after seeing how packed with iron & calcium it is, I bought some and that's going to be my b'fast. Also bought some SmartOnes and Lean Cuisine lunches to take to work. Then I bought a small size (I tried to do as good as I can while being bad) rainbow sherbet, and some doves chocolates. :/ Off to make some duck breast & brussell sprouts. Yum!

Yeah in Gruene it came up somehow and you said it was good in the beginning, then you said they just keep going back in, busting out, going back in, etc. But you did say it started good!! Russ & I are always looking for new shows that we BOTH would like, so we are giving it a go. So far, I do like it for the eye candy mwhaha. Story is actually good right now too.

Me too!!! I got 1h20m left..zzz. Russ is back on Atkins, so we have to go to the store and get him some atkins friendly snacks. I got my Rockabye Baby (beatles) CD's. They are so cute, I've been listening to them. Hopefully he likes them too, or he maybe he will because I listen to them now. I like how there's no vocals and it's all lullaby-ish.
