  1. OctoMom Offered $1 Million to Make a Porno - TMZ.com Nice.
  2. Not a band relation, but I read popcorn can cause it (the seeds). It's just when a pocket forms in your bowels, and stuff gets clogged in there. My husband had it last year, the docs just had him drink magnesium citrate, clear out the bowels, and he was better the next day.
  3. Ok my disclosure is, I did eat these when I was on Atkins.. so I only know of its 'impact' on Atkins if you want to eat them. As for calories, since I am on a reduced calorie diet-- I stay away, calories are calories. But apparently carbs are not created equal! My husband is doing Atkins now and eats these as well. Anyway.. I don't know what sugar alcohols actually means (besides it can act as a laxative if consumed in large quantities), but if you're counting carbs, you get to subtract Fiber and Sugar Alcohols from the carb count. So, on Atkins these candies work out. They never affected mine (or my husband's currently) weight loss on Atkins. The nitty gritty which I don't quite understand is that they don't trigger your sugar levels to change (diabetic info inserted here--that I don't know), so it doesn't impact you like a normal carbohydrate would.
  4. For the Gruene trip I was going to drive (since I hate hate hate flying), but it was SO long, and it would take 2 additional days to drive (which I couldn't take off), and for such a short trip :/ Russ sent me this, got a kick out of it....
  5. That was right after the test started (#2 is the control tester). Then after 10 minutes, #3 & #4 were dust mites, #5 was cat.
  6. Yah, baptist and not giving up anything either Pam the test kinda hurt, it's like a cat scratch 42x. Actually, reminded me of getting a tattoo (which I compare to cat scratch too). But they don't ever hit the same spot twice, so not nearly as annoying as tattoos. I was just fascinated with the test, so it wasn't bad at all. The 'worst' of it, was after 20 seconds when I WAS having a reaction (to the tester, which starts pretty instantly--to make sure you're not on antihistamines) it was itchy and then the other 3 spots that flared up eventually were itching and I had to sit there 15m.. I ended up texting to pass the time. I recommend bringing something to distract you during that. Of course, by time I post this you're probably back from it-- the forum has been down all morning!! I want to see a pic of the hair Haydee! I'm on the fence, I love your hair, but I also think people with curly hair who straighten it end up with the most beautiful straight hair (so full and fluffy and the ends curl under). I have serious hair envy of curly hair.
  7. My doc has me on Prenate DHA.. It's a big horse capsule, so early on I tried some chewables (yuck), and I had a sample pack of the Prenate DHA, so I tried the horse capsule.. didn't get stuck, and to date has not gotten stuck..so that's what I use.
  8. I did my skin allergy test today!! That is fun Pam hehe. I've never done it before. They wrote 42 numbers on my arms then stuck me 42 times with random crap. So 4,5,6 turned into welts 4 and 5 were dust mites--ok, I can work with that.. 6? CATS!! Nooooo. So they said I gotta lock my cats out of the bedroom. They said it's possible this will go away once pregnancy is over.. oh please oh please, my poor cats.. and poor us, they are going to CRY like crazy. Then I had a slight allergic reaction to rye grass, which is apparently in the air--though I've not heard of it. Nose is itching & burning as I write this.. they also gave me a Rx for some nasal steroid spray that is safe during pregnancy and a chewable anti-histamine Rx-she said is like Benadryl minus the sleepiness. So she gave me enough to take these during pregnancy and we go from there. As for the dust mites (I already self diagnosed this and tried some 'remedies') gotta vacuum and clean the bedroom real well, vaccuum the mattress, wipe the walls, blah blah. Get mattress and pillow covers. Will be a bit of work, but hopefully can contain this so I can sleep through the night for a change. Haydee, I'm not a doc (DUH) and they're all different, but from experience, if I can eat bread--I'll eat too much!! Right now, I'm eating too much, gaining weight, and my restriction isn't completely gone--I still get stuck and have issues occasionally.. but I know for a fact I can eat too much--and I will. That's why I got the band! That's why you got the band!! Knowing what I know, I know .5cc more is perfect for me.. No bread, no over eating. I would find another doc (again, like I said only going off knowing what I know with my personal fills) that will give you a little bit more fill. Sounds like you're at a place that is the difference between me now (where you are now) and me when I had my sweet spot restriction (pre-pregnancy and better be post-pregnancy). Going to go play in the nursery, got some presents from people to unwrap!
  9. Have you gotten a fill lately Haydee? Remember when we went to the bread place you were able to eat half a sandwhich, where (and I think I had a great fill back when.. ah I miss it!!) I could not eat bread for nothing. When my fill is good, I can only eat 1/4-1/2c of food at once... besides slider foods (chocolate, chips, ice creams, etc.) but if I don't keep them in the house I'm good.
  10. Anemic just means you have low iron, which can be fixed by eating more dark green leafs (spinach), and meat.. and/or taking iron supplements (which can be found at any drugstore). I've never heard of it causing leukemia though, and never thought it was serious. I thought we'd all been anemic at some point, kind of hand-in-hand with being female (due to periods). I was taking iron supplements at one point.
  11. My g'parents were granny and grandma. Mabubbles is sticking LOL.. we called her Mabubbles all last night being funny, but now it's starting to stick. She said "Whatever, I don't care.. just don't call me Tissue" and she kept trying to tell me I pronounce Granbee wrong, which is why I don't like it.. but I said if it's that hard to pronounce it's not a good name. I can't explain why I don't like it. I liked Noonie, but my dad said that sounds like a vajaja. He wants to be called Pawpaw.. Can't wait to go to the allergist today.. yay. It's funny I am so excited, but my obgyn said if it's some allergies, they can't 'treat' it with shots, etc. till post-pregnancy anyway.. not sure why I'm excited--maybe just to have someone validate it and say I'm not crazy. And when I look in my nose it's a million little blisters, so maybe we can go from there. We are literally going from 20 degrees to 70 degrees in a day, back and forth. Thus the bad weather in between (at night while it transitions). Wearing a big fur coat one day, and flip flops the next. FUN! Jenn, I have been in the preliminary organization of a customer trip to NYC again this year (probably in like September, before it gets too cold), are you close enough to NYC to pop in for dinner or something? :w00t:
  12. What a great update, you're discovering yourself.. in ways you wouldn't have if you were still with the ex )
  13. I had to search for this thread, anyone come up with more recipes? I don't do low carb, but husband started Atkins a couple weeks ago (and he looooves pasta), and I'm tired of the traditional low-carb dinners I've been having to make (esp. since I'm not doing low carb). I bought a spaghetti squash for the first time, dun dun dun. And for people not able to find it, I thought I wasn't finding it either, but it ends up they didn't have it where all the other squash and veggies were (in the refrigerator stuff).. it was out near the fruits at Publix here, so I found it after I gave up. Anyway, going to make it tonight, going to try the spaghetti fake out-- but if we end up liking it, would like more recipes!! ) Oh one more thing (I know this is a bit late in the game), they have EVOO cooking spray now, which is 0 calorie. It's like the PAM butter sprays and stuff, but it's EVOO.
  14. I've seen pics of you Judy, you're a skinny minny!! And I saw you last year, and you were skinny then, so don't even go there ;P My mom doesn't want a 'granny' kind of title.. I have a niece, but she's not really in our lives (in NJ with her mom), but my mom adopted 'Granbee' for her.. I always thought that was a stupid name, and it doesn't 'flow'. Bee is what we call her, so it's gran-bee.. whatever.. So anyway, we keep talking about it, can't think of anything we all like.. so I found a website today, a bunch of names for g'ma.. I didn't read through it all, but I copied Russ on it too. He wrote back.. He picked out his top 5, starting with "Mabubbles" lololol. So at the end of his e-mail he says "What do you think Mabubbles?" LOL. The other 4 he picked out were Goober, Tissue, Sugamomma, and Toto. hah.
  15. Congratulations! If I hadn't been so tight in the beginning, I wouldn't have had the unfill. I have gained quite a bit during pregnancy (boo), but I plan to tighten up and lose it when I've had the baby. I only had a small unfill too, so I can't imagine being completely unfilled how much I would have been gaining. My doc is so far away and it would be my luck I go get it filled back (now that the original super tightness is gone), and I'd get too tight again at some point and have to go back & forth more toward the end.. so I'm just riding it out.
  16. This is a travel system (with pumpkin seat). the seat in the pic is on the carseat base, so it's a little less bulky than that.
  17. You're going to eventually hit a point when 'rolling onto your tummy' is going to hurt quite a bit, and you won't do it. I still slept kind of side ways kind of belly (half and half, with one leg stretched out in front of me) for a while, now if I even try to roll on my tummy to flip positions (instead of rolling on my back) it hurts in different places.. pulls my lower abdomen muscles (and starts the round ligament pains), feels like someone is punching me in the gut, etc.. If it's not uncomfortable, don't worry about it yet. All the 'books' say it's best to sleep on your left side, but if you find you wake up on your belly or right side, it's not the end of the world, don't panic.. just roll back onto your left side. Pumpkin seat is what we call infant seats. I got a graco travel system, the seat only weighs 5lbs, snaps into the stroller, and snaps into the seat base in the car.. so you can move it with you. If baby is sleeping, don't have to wake them up to move them to something else.. it also fits onto the soothing center for the house I have, which was an unexpected surprise.
  18. Baby feeeeever. I just found out my cousin is pregnant. She's the only one old enough to have kids besides me.. she went to Florida with us this year for Xmas with my g'parents, I guess all the baby stuff my g'ma got me got to her What does that make them? Distant cousins??
  19. Oh yeah, no one knows I'm pregnant unless I tell them. Our bowling league, it's the same people we've bowled with for years every season. When I had surgery and was losing weight, everyone was commenting on it. So occasionally they'll ask me how the band is doing, and I say oh it's been great but now I'm gaining it back with being pregnant! They are shocked, so I guess people just think I'm getting fat again. Mine does look like a tire, more than a baby, which I thought was odd (and discouraging). I also noticed last night (when taking a bath--the nurse said I am allowed to woohoo), my thighs are gaining weight.. which is very odd, since my legs are always the LAST thing to gain weight. But I can definitely tell my thighs are getting big and I closed in the gap that I had between them when I would sit with my knees together
  20. Well that sounds like good news for Manda!! Glad it's all took a turn for the better Ok here's my belly pic for today. See, I don't look preg, it just looks like I re-inflated the fat rolls--I just can't suck it in anymore. And the 'ladies' have gotten quite a bit bigger.
  21. Aww, I can't wait to see pics Wheet!!! I don't know what is up with the sling, but it's one item I just never even though to get. I don't think I'd use it, like you said Wheet-- I assume you'd always have one hand on there to 'hold it in place' or just to reassure me that it's not going to fall--and then what's the point. I plan to use bouncers/jumpers/soothing station stuff when I'm around the house cleaning or working. pumpkin seat in public.
  22. That's funny Heather! I think I told you, one of our family friends.. he has a 21 year old (just graduated college) and they also have a 5 year old. So they did like you, except the 21 is girl and 5 year old is boy. But the stories I hear from them are hilarious. Since the 21 year old grew up single child, she's not use to having a 'sibling' to battle with. She just moved back from college since she graduated (like literally 2 weeks ago moved back) and she will get upset if they buy her little brother something (like a DVD) and didn't get her something. Like I said, the stories I hear are hilarious. The 5 year old adores the 21 year old though, he looks at her with stars in his eyes. Anyway, I'll have to remember the ice cream & pickles. When we go for kid #2, I won't be such a basket case like I was when I found out for this one.. and can take the time to plan something cute!
  23. Well we only went to 1/2 of the birthing class. I got some info out of it, the best info I got was just how the hospital I plan to go to runs things (where to go, their routines, what to expect, what the rooms are like, when the baby is born they do x-y-z, etc. etc.).The technical stuff-like stages of labor, and all that medical stuff--I already knew from reading my books. Which is why I don't think I missed out much from not going to day 2. We are also going to parenting classes, every Thursday night.. I have actually really enjoyed this one, it has taught me stuff OPPOSED to what my mom has told me. It's saying the things that have changed-- like that you don't give babies water anymore--where my mom told me I had to get bottles because you feed babies water. And not to use Talc powder, and how baby bath tubs are a waste of money, just get a bath sponge they lay on that you can prop up to dry.. and so on. Lot of neat little tricks.. Plus it has taught Russell how to change a diaper (still remains to be seen if he'll actually utilize this!!), how to swaddle, how to dress them.. We got a CPR baby dummy last week that we were sent home with.. they taught us how to do CPR on an infant. We have 3 more weeks of this class. We laugh during this class, so we're both getting something out of it and it's not a 'gross' class LOL. I also have a breast feeding class next week, it's just 1 day and 2 hours long.
  24. Tracy, I don't use myspace much, but I don't have a friend request from you?? I made the dill salmon recipe again last night, the pieces of salmon I got weren't the best :/ [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BNgeWDir404]YouTube - TONYA HARDING SLAMS OBAMA'S "DOING A HARDING / KNEE CAPPING" GREAT VID AND SOUND[/ame] That is hilarious, our radio show was playing this video clip and talking about it this morning. She thinks Obama had to use her name to get publicity for himself. Yah right. What a dumb bunny. I love how he says "You're a piece of work". Ah hahaha. Baby shower is Saturday, I'm excited.. I bet this week drags on!! I go to the allergist tomorrow, now I'm suddenly very glad the doc finally recommended this. It's getting worse it seems, and I am so tired of not being able to breathe through my nose without it itching.
