  1. That house is gorgeous, I can't figure out where this luxury house is.. like I said, I've only ever been to rustic cabins out there. Must be hidden from normal view. I will have to bring work with me, but shouldn't take up too much time.
  2. LOL! No rum balls for the 2 month old! Wait till he's at least 1 before you go sneaking him his first alcohol! Uhm.. not sure about spas, I was really surprised about there being restaurants and shops honestly.. it's really out in the wilderness.. very peaceful, but not full of high society things--like spas! (Although plenty of kelp & mud in the river, you can coat yourself.. for free!)
  3. The website for the place says there's shops & restaurants nearby.. not sure what, anytime I've ever been to Guntersville Lake it was for summer camp and we were in cabins in the middle of nowhere with no signs of any shops or restaurants lol. It also says Cathedral Caverns is nearby, which is actually pretty cool if anyone's intersted http://www.alapark.com/CathedralCaverns/
  4. Since I'm not paying for room & board, I'll buy some veggie & fruit trays (and some other random snacks) and bring down in my car.
  5. I think I posted this recipe before for you guys, something my Granny makes & she gave to me.. sooo good, and I am picky (duh) with food, so I get to change it to how I like it. Original recipe has potatoes in it (yuck) and she uses kielbasa, but I made this weekend with brats because it's the only sausage-like meat I had. Cook meat (some sort of link sausage cut into bite size pieces, kielbasa, italian sausage, etc.), drain. She said set the meat aside, but I left it in. This is where you add 1.5c chicken broth, potatoes cut up (if you use them) and cut up carrots.. I added canned carrots and no potatoes.. so didn't need to let it cook long to get soft.. Then add 1.5c milk & 1c shredded cheddar. Let it get hot, but not boil. Add parsley, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper. Sounds really simple, but it is SO YUMMY. I serve it will dill weed sprinkled all over the top (even better). Oh and I did get the ingredients to make the ham & chz Soup, so I plan to make that sometime this week. I bought some bag of cubed ham meat.
  6. I sent out an e-mail, I think everyone was copied??? I am less than a mile from the airport, so I can shuttle people back and forth and/or provide a place to hang out while we wait. It's Huntsville International Airport (HSV) and it's a small airport, so no worrying about who comes in what terminal (it is one terminal) so you'll all be coming in on the same hallway. I think we figured this in, in the beginning, but with my NEW FANCY SCHMANCY CAR.. it's very roomy, I can hold 2-3 adults, plus Carson and me. Depends on how cozy someone wants to get (for 3 people) with the car seat. I mean for going down to the place (I am guessing about 20-30min from my house). Russell will be home, so carting between airport & my house will be no big deal, Russ can stay at home with Carson while I run it. Jane- It's ironic & a good thought, but I was happy with who I was for a long time, and oblivious to my weight.. didn't make me lose weight!! Did I misinterpret the passage? Sending healing vibes to you Tracy, I know the importance of a good chiro visit!! Hope you come home feeling brand new. I don't know about organizing it, since I'm so behind and I know there's much more qualified   But like I said, once everyone starts getting their flights mapped out, don't worry about when you get in, I'll shuttle people between airport & my house and we'll wait there till everyone comes in. :cheers2:
  7. Pam- For 1 cup of food thing, before I got loosened up I ate between 1/2-1c of food per sitting, just eyeballing. I had more on my plate, but 1/2-1c is all I could actually eat. Haydee- Uhh yeah that's not a bad pic!
  8. Not really Tracy! I am normally up around 7am, I just don't get online till I'm at work and done my morning routine  On weekends I rarely get on the computer, but I was looking for a crock pot recipe this morning.
  9. I'm so sorry newlife, you'll be in my thoughts. Heather, my GP prescribed lortabs when I started with the pain and they made me do bed rest. He called my OBGYN to find out what she'd be comfortable for me to be on (I really wanted Advil, it always helped my muscle pains), but she said absolutely no Advil (which I'm sure you know!) but lortab would be ok. Lortab never 'fixed' problems for me, it just made me not care that I hurt.
  10. I think Jenn meant after the V trip she is going to NJ?
  11. Oh wow, hope DH brings you plenty to keep entertained with!! Hang in there (Joshua, right??)!!
  12. Oh Tracy, I e-mailed you the website.. from the looks of it, Wal-Mart gets 'in stock' with a few consoles every hour, then goes out of stock within 15 minutes, repeat the next hour. So if you keep an eye on it, Wal-Mart is where we ended up finding it in that time frame. And, Wal-Mart is one of the few places that sell it at the normal price.. (not some jacked up price).
  13. I live vicariously through you Pam and you're so well spoken, I'm sure you'd do great on the panel!!!! Seriously, who has ever seen a bad picture of Haydee!? Congrats Judy on 1 week no sugar, it seems so easy in theory, in fact I went out with my friends tonight and everyone is talking about shedding some pounds and food addictions, and I mentioned.. if you can just go a few days sugar-free, your body snaps out of it. I know this, but I don't do it. A few days seems like so long, although we all know it's not. I commend anyone for going through it (even though we all go through it on & off). I'm not sugar free today. I did stop by Kroger and buy a fruit plate & veggie plate and some other healthy snacks. I really don't like munching on these things, but lately they're in my rotation of cravings (Can't complain about that).
  14. Hahahaha, Russ & I have been trying to keep an eye out for Wii & Wii Fit (since that's my Xmas present but no one has them in stock), and he found a website that updates every minute what places have some in stock, and when they go out of stock. Well he told me to bookmark it and check it occasionally, so I just opened it to bookmark it and as of like 2 minutes ago WalMart had some consoles in stock, so we go to order it and we're like racing through the checkout trying to get it. But we did! Got the console for $250 (Some people on ebay and some other site are selling for as much as 1k?!) Now I'm going to circuit city to buy the wii fit portion.
  15. WOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Jenn!!!!!! Terry, if you figure it out let me know so I can pass it on to my mom. That's how she is with my sister, she coddles her because playing tough turns into suicide attempts and blah blah. But warm wishes anyway, wish everyone could just get their crap together! Michelle, I'm with you!! Gracie is on Mo's path and I don't know what to think. The vet said if she didn't poop yesterday (After the 2nd payment of $300) they need to hospitalize her, etc. So yesterday I forced vaseline down her throat. I read it helps as a laxative, and sometimes cats will eat it--not mine. So I made her eat it, I can't afford (literally) to take her back to the vet, not even one more time. We've spent 2 paychecks in 1 week on her and her blocked upness. They haven't told us to do enimas at home, but I read online about it.. really hope we don't have to go that route. They gave us antibiotics, anti-nausea meds, and said to give her Pepcid. I did what I could yesterday, she foamed at the mouth for an hour to get rid of the antibiotic (DH got pill form, he didn't realize liquid would have been so...much...easier). I also fed her liquid from a tuna can. She won't eat or touch her water, which I'm sure your vet has told you makes it worse!! I am NOT paying more money cause she won't drink her water. Ugh. But yeah, I've been fretting, I literally don't know what to do.. can't afford to keep going to the vet, and they didn't solve it. Good news is there was 2 poop piles in the litterbox last night, so I think they both went.. and she did not vomit this morning as she normally does.. but she still looks sick, like she doesn't feel good. Oh here's my impressive piehole report.. -Hot chocolate w/water for b'fsat -went to tgif's and I got 1/2 rack of ribs, they were gross so I just ate my fries w/ketchup & mayo.. and then got a cheesecake to go (which is gone now) -water!
  16. LOL!! Sorry mommies, I'm new at this! I got him chili, cause he was whining about how hungry he is, and I thought chili would fill him up without having to eat a whole lot.. plus all the saltines. The 2 year old height thing, etc.. is true, I learned that in my child development class. Also, under 2 years old, they can't reach the top of their head! Maybe I forgot what the thing was, it was something neat like that.. maybe that's what it was. I had it in my head then I went to type and it fluttered away. Something they can't reach that people can do, as a baby. Yeah.. anywho. Going to make a broth soup for dinner..
  17. LOL Terry.. I kind of knew that in the back of my head, but I was at Wendy's??? I thought, "I should give him chicken noodle soup or something", but Wendy's doesn't sell that... BUT I did get him extra saltines! He ate a lot of those. The rest of what you said I didn't know tho, I kind of figured no spices or dairy, but didn't know about meat.
  18. And I just spit up a piece of corndog I had at 6pm yesterday. You'd think I'd have felt that bouncing around in there..
  19. Russ took Gracie to the vet, OMG. Another $300. So $600 in less than a week in her vet bills, and Russ didn't give me any definite answer of what's going on, he said they told him if she doesn't poop again, she's going to have to be hospitalized. Argh. He said "they said something about pancreas" and gave him antibiotics and anti-nausea meds.. and said we need to give her 1/4th of a pepcid.
  20. My left side of my pelvis is tilted up & forward. I had undiagnosed scoliosis, so my pelvis is twisted, and the bottom of my spine starts out as the bottom of an S.
  21. I tried the roll & fried rice....... I want more salad!!!!:willy_nilly::thumbup:
  22. That does sound weird Kat, and just the other day I was talking to Russ about something and I told him how it's inappropriate for a grown man to call his mom 'mommy'. I don't remember what brought it up, but I think that's CREEPY!! I think Rick should swing by too  So is he bigger, because he was overdue?? Went to this Japanese place that opened up down the road--Russ can't eat there, so took the opportunity to get some to go. They have the best ever (i've said this a lot lately but really) salad, with the ginger dressing. Mmmmmmm. I could eat this all day every day. I also got a crunchy shrimp roll & some fried rice. Haven't even looked at those yet, enjoying this salad. May have to get a salad to go every day at lunch now.
  23. Heather, I had crippling lower back pain early pregnancy. I felt ridiculous, I had to see 2 doctors and a physical therapist and I'm going "yeah I'm only 8-12 weeks pregnant" and I couldn't hardly move. They put me on pain meds for a few weeks & bed rest.. it did absolutely nothing for me.. They said it's because my pelvis is twisted so when the baby hormones loosened my ligaments, my pelvis became unstable. I ordered a pelvic belt, which did relieve the pain a little bit but it was temporary relief. What fixed it was 2 exercises the PT gave me. I was in this pain for over a month, and when I saw PT, I felt better within 3 days doing the exercises.. and it has not come back. I have felt it 'coming' back and I do the exercises and it stops it in its tracks. It depends on why you're having the pain of course, so I'd recommend seeing a PT (My GP and OBgyn were pretty much unable to help). He made me go buy a small rubber ball from the kid's section at wal-mart.. and then lay on my back on the floor, with my legs on the wall, bent, like I were sitting on a chair.. put the ball between the knees, and then inhale through nose, exhale through mouth (he said something about diaphragm exercises help the back muscles).. and for the breathing, every inhale--clench the ball between your knees and hold it for 5 seconds.. then exhale and relax the ball. Repeat for 5 sets. The other exercise was more specific to my twisted pelvis, same position but with 'inhale', roll the ball back with my leg, pushing my left leg back into my pelvis slowly-holding it, exhale, inhale and pull it back more, etc. for 5 sets. Again, that was specific to my ailment, but the PT cured me, I'm a believer in them now.. Oh the PT I saw by the way, specializes in pregnancy related problems.. he explained why I was hurting, and he told me by 20 weeks it should stop hurting, because the baby will be big enough to essentially 'stabalize' my pelvis. But the exercises helped me within 3 days and I guess I was around 14 weeks by time I got fixed. He said a lot of women have pains into the 3rd trimester that would be a different pain (knock on wood!!) I have had no other pains.
  24. Ohh Terry that WAS fun!!! I miss it   I can't wait till June.. or April for that matter hehe. Russell was breathing on me last night, I kept wanting to tell him to roll over, but I felt bad because he was being like a kid.. kept moaning and whining and asking me to fix it, and grabbing my arm and whining some more. I got him gatorade & chili, he was able to keep it down last night, but he woke up throughout the night sick and this morning he is still sick. So is Gracie!! It's like clockwork, every morning at 8am she throws up twice. Gah. Luckily, I am up by then and she starts heaving next to my head, so I hold her over the trashcan and she has been puking in there (cute huh?). I am getting her anti-nausea meds today too. I had a funny dream last night, I was in a grocery store, buying groceries I needed. Then I got to the cupcake counter, and I had to have a cupcake--they were $.59 each. Then I realized I lost my buggy--with my purse! So I'm half-heartedly running around trying to find it, but meanwhile picking up change off the ground.. so I can at least get a cupcake if I never find my purse again. Finally found the purse, an old lady had it.. and she wouldn't give it back, I ended up chasing her outside and she turned to dust in the sun.. Mmmhm. Never did get my cupcake, I think the old woman turning to dust woke me up.
  25. Listening to Russell barfing... and laying in bed with the laptop, oh and watching Bad Girls Club (not as bad as New York's show, but entertaining when nothing else is on). Hope Russ feels better soon, not often you are barfing sick for a full day  Good night V's!!!
