  1. Like CG says, whatever works for you. I weigh myself first thing every morning. If the scale doesn't move, I don't let it bother me. I know I'm doing the plan. Some ppl go ballistic if their weight doesn't change or they gain a little. They need to stay off the scale. Its what you can handle.
  2. Woohoo! Great start, keep it up. Congratulations!
  3. Thoughts and prayers for a successful surgery & quick recovery. Sorry you have to go through this, but anything to feel better.
  4. I agree with all the above. No matter what WLS you choose, it takes following your Drs plans, or facing failure. My sister had Gastric bypass, lost a lot of weight and now years later has gained it all back. I choose LBS b/c of being able to reverse it, if there's any problems. You have a lot of ppl failing the band b/c they could not fix their head. My advice, learn all you can , talk with a surgeon, get facts from the manufacturers. Don't believe everything you read on the internet. I'm 56yo, LBS saved my life.
  5. Very good point, Jim. I locked my three out of my room. Even on a good day that scares me.lol
  6. Thanks for answering our questions. There is always something to learn from good and bad experiences. Wishing you a quick recovery and awesome results.
  7. Thank you for posting this. There are ppl here on the fence, if this is for them or not. Nice to have an uplifting story. LOL, Your stages are so true, but you forgot the one , minutes after surgery "what the heck did I do to myself"lol Good thing it only last a short time. Thanks again!
  8. I think I can honestly say, that we have all been there, done that.lol Its a big decision and not to go into lightly. The best thing I could tell you is to try to think of the positives and not the what if's. Being knocked out is really no big deal. I've been knocked out 7 times and I rather enjoyed it.lol. You're out and next second you're back. Plus the surgeons and nurses are trained to keep you alive. There are complications in a few surgeries, but they are far and few between. Better chance of being in a car accident. After banding, you'll freak that you might have done something wrong with your band, also normal. That will pass too. The whole LBS is a long learning experience, full of mistakes, eating too fast, too big a bite. We all do it and have survived. The best part is cleaning out your closet and replacing your clothes with smaller sizes. My closet has been cleaned about 5 times all ready. It is awesome!
  9. I forgot about the tube sore throat, lol. Yes, most definitely gives you a sore, sore throat. Hot drinks eases that too.
  10. Congratulations! It is a wonderful feeling, seeing that new person in the mirror. Tears of joy are always good. So happy for you!
  11. Have you called your Dr for anti nausea drugs? If not, do that. The swelling can make you gaggy. Hope it clears soon.
  12. Same questions? You answered what you were vomiting, but where was surgery done and did they give you anti-nausea drugs? Glad my Dr didn't do any fills at time of surgery. I really don't understand why some do. You never know how much someone will swell. Sorry for your terrible experience and I hope everything works out well.
  13. I finally learn that about a year ago. It is a personal choice. I've always believed in the "thinking positively". I was just thinking that last night about our Government, so many negative comments, not surprised things are so hard to fix. Doesn't mean we have to agree with what their doing, but think of positive ways WE can change things. Ok, just my thoughts, not looking for any political conversation.lol PS. Love the new profile picture too PSS. Have a wonderful day! Love you!
  14. I only had trouble the first 24hrs. After that was able to sleep in my bed on my side and slept very well. Vicodin helped a lot too.lol I do have a sleep number bed, so I was able to make my bed a marshmellow and pillows do help.
  15. I wake up every morning with a slight sore throat, pre & po banding. I always start the day with a hot drink and that takes it away.
  16. What TMF said.
  17. Very normal. Sounds like you had a PB (productive burp) and yes, after getting stuck your esophagus can be aggreviated for awhile. You might have to stick with liquids for a day, go slow. My Dr said not to drink with a stuck and you just proved why. Don't worry, I've done it a few times.
  18. Oct 15,2012 Surgery, no fill 1mth post op 3cc 2mth port flipped over no fill, Jan23 revision surgery 1.5cc 6wks later tried 1cc, but had to take half out, water would not go down. Total 5cc
  19. If you click on little downward arrow by your name at the top right corner, a drop box will come down, click on "my settings" and thats where your picture can be downloaded. To post your story, at the top left, click on Forums Home and the very first thread is "my story", open that and start a new thread and tyoe your story. Good luck ,
  20. Congratulations! Nothing keeps you going better than good feelings.
  21. TMF is right. Just keep doing what you're suppose to and if the scale freaks you out, STAY OFF OF IT!!! This surgery works, if you follow the plan and don't give up. I've been fighting a plateau for a few weeks now, but I know I'm doing what I'm suppose to and my body will catch up.
  22. Your roses are a reflection of your beauty!
  23. All of the above!
  24. I too, had my surgery in Oct, port flipped and had revision surgery Jan 23. My Dr also told me it was very rare and I was his 2 patient in all his years have this happen. I think it is really sewn down good now and hoping for no more surgery. So sorry this has happened to you. Good Luck!
  25. Happy Easter Sharon and all my banded peeps. Because He lives, I can face tomorrow!
