  1. From what I've read a fill can cause swelling for a few days and you're suppose to do liquids for awhile, then mushies and then food. As long as you can keep liquid down you should be ok.
  2. My Aetna went back 5 yrs. I've lost 100 lbs twice but records showed I always gained it back. Good luck with your appeal. Hope it works out for you.
  3. Did you get a report on your psych eval from him? My psych Dr sent me a copy of what he sent my surgeon. Matter of fact, I think they're required to. Maybe he denied you not b/c of health issues but more maybe he thinks you do not understand the changes you have to make with the lap band. Just a thought. Good luck with appeal I hope it works out for you!
  4. Congratulations! That is awesome! I think I'm going to copy this a put it up where I can see it every day b/ c this is my plan. Not to cheat, make someone else do Thanksgiving & Christmas. Looking at your post will inspire me. Thank you! You rock!
  5. I'm really sorry your going through this. I know it's really hard just the emotional part itself, never mind trying to loose weight too. I've been there, done that, taking care of the elderly. Plus, my husband is a lot like your 90yo dad. He is totally helpless when it comes to feeding himself. I make his Breakfast, lunch & dinner every day. After 40yrs I'm kinda over it.lol I just had to make up my mind that I needed to loose weight for my health. food will always be around, but I do not have to eat it. Do I want a brownie or do I want to be healthy?? Being that right now it kills me to walk or stand (arthritis in knees), I choose get healthy. Is it possible to get Meals on Wheels for your dad a least one meal a day? Your daddy's 90, give him anything he wants, including a healthy child. Best wishes for you!
  6. By this weekend, you might fit into the 18. Congratulations! What a fantastic NSV!!!
  7. I haven't been there, done that. Getting banded Oct 15. If it was me, I would go back to my Dr see if maybe I needed a fill, go back to only eating a cup of food, starting with protein first, fresh fruit & veggies. Drink your water and exercise. You know how it works. You did wonderfully before, Congratulations! You can do this! I know you can! Best wishes
  8. My surgical center waited until all 6mths were up and all other ins requirement reports were in too. They did turn it i to ins. 1 day after the 6mths and got approved 1wk later. But ALL ins co are different. Good luck on your journey!
  9. Congratulations! You look marvelous! I can never get over how much younger people look after losing a lot of weight. I'm 56, I hope I take some years off too.lol Again, you look great!!!!!
  10. Hi mle, I haven't been banded yet(Oct 15), but I have lost 28 lbs on my 6mth diet. I can't see any visual difference and no one has said anything and that is b/c they have all seen me loose & gain weight my whole life, so unless it's 50lbs they don't say anything. The good thing is I can feel it. My clothes don't feel tight. I just feel more comfortable in my skin. I can hardly wait to loose more. I know it's going to take time and as long as the scale is moving in the right direction I'm happy. Try to give yourself time. Rome wasn't built in a day and our new sexy self won't be either, but it will happen.
  11. Congratulations to graduating to the other side! Healing thoughts & best wishes too!
  12. As my bridesmaid you will not have to do that. I'll luv you just the way you are!
  13. I would think if your PCP told you it was ok, I'd take his word about it before regular lay people on a forum.j/s
  14. I only told friends that I knew would support me no matter what.Just like they can trust me with their secrets.
