  1. I want to walk without a waddle, in the worst way!!!
  2. 5 mths 30lbs.averages to 6lbs a month. That is wonderful!!! On average people are to lose 1-2 lbs per week, you're right there. Take "only" out of your vocabulary . Say, I'm 5mths out and have lost 30 lbs. (Be proud of yourself). Then say, what's working for you? I'm proud of you!!!! Ok rant over, lol
  3. I won't get nervous until the morning of Oct 15. I'm still trying to learn all I can and practice what I'm learning. That's keeping me busy. If the old adage goes" you learn something new every day". I will have learn 30 more things about LBS. Haha
  4. I hear you. I have a husband who can eat anything & everything and he does. I do have it in the house b/c I'm able to not touch it. If I was to take one taste, it would be over with. I am a foodaholic!!! Just like a drinker except with food. So I choose not to touch it. My health has become my #1 priority. Best Wishes!
  5. Oh, Carolinagirl will be sooo happy! Shhhh, she gets kinda bitchy if she doesn't get her way. Shhhh
  6. All insurance companies are different on their requirements. Mine (Aetna) required the 6mth supervised diet, psych eval& nutritional class. Your insurance company should be able to tell you up front what's required. Also my bariatric center took all my insurance info and gave me a list of everything required of me at my very first visit.
  7. I think almost every person on here has had that same nervous feeling. It's a big step and one not to take lightly. I recommend you research & learn everything you can about LBS.Knowledge is power!!
  8. WOW, 20yo, down 75lbs I'm proud of you for your concern about sugar!!! Keep up the great job your doing! I think converting sugar grs to tsps is 3.94 gr = 1tsp. So Slimfast has over 5 tsps of sugar, geesh!
  9. I post in the wrong thread all the time, no biggy. Welcome! Yes, there is a lot of support, knowledge & inspiration here and you're welcome to all of it. There's a saying here, there are no dumb questions, so if you need an answer just ask. I encourage you to learn all that you can about LB before surgery. It's NOT just get it and it starts working. You have to work it. Good luck on your WL journey!
  10. Get back up on the band wagon. You made a mistake. You owned it. You learn from it. It's time to move on. For future reference I have a neat app on my phone that list 100's of restaurants and their menus & nutritional values, or you can go online and scout a menu. No what they have before you go. Good luck! I believe in you!
  11. I guess we know why they call it a "garbage disposal"?? Good for you, get the garbage out of the house.
  12. just paid 3.75 today. Thank the good Lord I don't have to buy premium anymore.
  13. My paperwork on a full liquid diet consist of: SF yogurt, strained cottage cheese, cream of wheat, grits, malt o meal (whatever the hell that is) vegetable & fruit juice diluted 50/50 with water, liquid protein supplements. At this point begin up to 1 protein supplements per day.
  14. I started smoking when I was 14yo. I quit when it went from .55 TO .75 a pack. I refused to pay .75 a pack. What people are paying now to kill themselves with a slow death, they could have bought a house.J/S
  15. The mind is a terrible thing to waste!
  16. Now come on Sojo, don't make me cry! Really!!!!
  17. Momma said, "if you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all". Regarding weed, I grew up in the 70's, weed, THC,LSD, mushrooms, coke, I did and tried it all. Why would you want to get a band just to smoke weed and get the munchies? J/S
  18. "like" doesn't get it. I love this is better!!
  19. Oh my gosh, that one cracked me up!! Glad I wasn't taking a drink, I would have blew it out my nose. Ya, Keep your pecker up and knock me up in the morning what were our ancestors thinking???
  20. You know I will Sojo. You have been a BIG part of my education and for that, I thank you!
  21. I want to thank each and everyone of you. You are so important to my success. I appreciate you all. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!
  22. Scheduled for Oct 15. They gave me Oct 1, but have a previous engagement.
  23. Jean out did herself : )
  24. Every insurance co. has different requirements. I have Aetna which required 6mth supervised diet with pcp, psych eval, nutritional consult. Took 1wk to get approval after papers filled with ins. I could have had surgery Oct 1, but had a commitment to my granddaughter. So it will be 7 mths for me, which I really am happy with. Gave me time to wrap my head around what is required to have success with the LB.
