  1. Wow, sorry for your problems! Wishing the best to you. You're absolutely right about cheating pre op and not post op. Good luck!
  2. LOL, unless you live in FL. Winter is our play time.
  3. Good wishes to all the newly banded! Keep us posted.
  4. Dang girl you just went through surgery. Glad you're feeling good, but I still think you should give your body a little rest.
  5. Marybell, it's to shrink your liver. There have been people wake up after surgery to find out surgeon wasn't able to do lapband b/c of fatty liver.
  6. I've had the opposite problem. I never felt obese until I saw my reflection. If I never saw myself in a mirror, I never realized I was fat. It wasn't until my knees went south that I realized I had a problem.
  7. The best thing you can do is research & educate yourself. I haven't been banded yet, but yes I expect gas pain. I had a hysterectomy 15yrs ago and I remember walking up & down my driveway at 2am. Everyone will have gas pain but walk ,walk, walking will help. PS I only had to do it one night
  8. I'm with Mis73, there's something wrong with you if your not nervous. Surgery is a big thing no matter what kind it is. Keep your eye on the prize. I new healthy you. We're here for you. Thoughts & prayers heading your way!
  9. Mistakes happen. You owned it, now pick yourself up and move on. You can do this!
  10. You can do it! !!! I've been on a week long fast (religious reasons) and after a couple days it's no problem. Get pass the first 48 hrs and I promise you'll do fine.
  11. God is good all the time. Glad He made your day!!!
  12. Congratulations! ! I think if you were following this forum for 2yr, you have been well educated. Good Luck!
  13. Congratulations on being on the other side! Sounds like you're doing wonderfully. Best wishes on your WL journey! Kudos to hubby too!
  14. I love this post!!! It gives me a lot of hope. I'm 56 and I'm ready to get my life back. Congratulations to you! Thank you !
  15. Congratulations on being on the other side!
  16. I agree with Missy . It sounds like your Dr doesn't know how the band works!!!
  17. Welcome to LBT.com! The best advice I can give you is educate yourself as much as possible before surgery. There's a lot of great books including Bandwagon, written by our very own Jean (you can find her on the boards and she writes for the LBT.com magazine board). WLS for Dummies is another. Also stalking this forum is very educational. Have a question, ask. Knowledge is power! Good luck on your journey! Hope to see you around!
  18. Congratulations on the weight loss! T&P on your other issues. Keep us posted.
  19. I just read on this forum today that a few people said port site stayed sore for about 5 wks.
  20. I'm like Sojo, can only exercise in pool. I'm waiting on double knee replacement. The pool is wonderful. Sometimes I don't realize how hard I've worked out until I have problems getting out of the pool.
