My father is 90 and his caretaker moved away so now I have to prepare his meals. This is the one thing I didn't want to do.
My sister comes out every 6 weeks and freezes dinners for him. I go every am, noon, and dinner to get his meals for him. This is sooooo hard on me. My hubby does all the shopping for us because it is too hard for me to be around food. Now I have to do the shopping for my dad.
Naturally the foods my sister has frozen are all wonderful and are the same foods from when we were growing up. They are so tempting! And he wants brownies, cakes, snicker bars, etc., etc., etc.
This is almost too much for me to bear. I have gained about 2 pounds and I know it is because I am stressed at having the responsibility of taking care of him on my shoulders, plus being around all that food.
I'm not worried, I will lose the couple of pounds. What I am wondering is - has anyone else been in a similar situation? How do you deal with it?
Thanks for any help.
Terry
