eating too much
Make sure you weigh/measure all of the food that you consume. This way you will know how much you are eating and if you are following the guidelines from your doctor.

Should I be reading the after surgery posts?
Well I didn't even feel the drain come out and I also did not have staples. Sometimes you can read things that you will never have to experience. Take what you read as a grain of salt.

Subs
Bread is hard for many to eat. I am over 6 months and don't know if/when I will ever try bread. Crunchy crackers are good but soft breads/pasta, maybe not.

Not sure I understand the pureed diet.
Yes, yes, yes, yes and yes. Get yourself a mini chopper and puree your food in it. I liked scrambled egg, cottage cheese, canned meats chicken/turkey/ham or even corned beef. Chili would be good too.

Regrets
Okay so we know you are a woman and you currently weight 270 pounds, right. I am going to judge you but are you even close to a goal weight? Are you seven feet tall? Even if you say your goal weight is 200 pounds that still is 70 more pounds to go. Taking into what you have already lost, 50 pounds, that is a significant amount to lose. Did your PS not suggest that you wait to lose a little more before your surgery? You will have better results if you are thinner, good luck.

Regrets
How about try eating less. When I lost all of my weight I was only eating between 600-700 calories. I am trying very hard now to eat 900.

Can i eat pureed food early if its doesnt yrt my stomach?
Well yes it could. I wasn't on pureed until week 3 but I still had a protein shake. You can do this, just wait until you are supposed to have pureed. Make sure too that you do puree your food, it really isn't that bad use canned chicken/ham/turkey, cottage cheese, scrambled egg these are good.

Met someone with sleeve one year out...
Sure doesn't sound like he reached his goal weight either, I guess 100 pounds is much better than nothing. I am sure he is only one example of the mannnny who are not successful.

Will orange juice do me harm?
Yes orange juice is very acidic. I wouldn't have it. Try adding orange flavouring to your shakes instead.

Plastics in TJ
I have had plastic surgery in Tijuana in January and it actually was about half price including airfare, hotel and incidentals. If you know of a PS in the U.S. who is inexpensive please let us all know.

mix fruit in protein shakes?
No fruit; high in sugar, calories and sometimes seeds and fiber. I am just over 6 months and still don't. Add flavourings as others have posted.

Cant eat a thing
Use baby size utensils. Put your spoon/fork down between bites. Make sure you are using small bowls and measuring all of your portions.

Surgery 3 years after VSG
Having a smaller stomach should have nothing to do with being under anesthesia. Good Luck with your surgery.

Hi there, emotional basketcase here.....
It is the release of fat from your body that is affecting your hormones. I think that we all go through this at some level or another. Hang in there, it will get better!

skim milk
If you are on full liquids give it a try. Go slow though as many have intolerance to milk after surgery.
