Average calorie intake
At six weeks 500-600 calories. I am now 22 weeks and probably float between 600-800 calories. I find that too much I don't lose. I know that many on here eat more calories but you want to make the most of your first 6 months as you will lose the most during this time.

Did you feel safe crossing the border into Tijuana?
I did not have to get out of the car in either direction. Coming back your coordinator should give you a medical pass and you should be able to sail right through no waiting. Make sure that you get/ask for one.

Did you feel safe crossing the border into Tijuana?
You have got to be kidding!! What are you worried about then? Do you not live in the U.S.? Tijuana is not a war zone.....................

No magic for sleevers in Disney
I totally agree with other posters. Firstly you should speak with the Manager and let them know what happened. Secondly for your next "meal" tell them you are NOT eating, get a drink, and bring a protein drink if you have one. That is ridiculous that they made you pay $40.00.

How big is our stomach now?
Most are correct in saying the shape of a banana, not a "thumb"(it is not the gastric bypass) and remember that it does not stretch so yes a banana it is. For anyone that had the barium swallow you would have seen it on the xray machine as the liquid flowed through it.

does it grow back?
I don't think anyone will only be able to eat an "ounce" of food for the rest of their life. You will be able to eat more but never as much as pre-sleeve. They say you can eat as much as 6-8 ounces in time.

cauliflower crust pizza
When you put the riced cauliflower in the microwave to cook you don't need to add any water, it has enough moisture in it to cook fine. This might have been why one poster had mashed consistency instead of riced.

Nut up'd my calories/workout questions
I find that switching up my caloric intake has helped me with my weight loss. The poster that talks about the 1200 calorie minimum has obviously not had surgery yet. I find I vary also from 600-800 calories and sometimes when I eat more I lose more too. I think you will be fine eating less on weekends and more when you work out.

omg never ever again..
Curried what and why are you eating rice? You are only three weeks out should you not be on a pureed/mushy stage? Follow your nutritional guidelines.

Post-VSG meal amounts = Normal Servings
I agree with you. I am shocked with the copiuos amounts of food that my coworkers eat. They literally shovel it in in huge mouthfuls and barely chew. Now I was banded previously for 5 years so I guess my eating habits changed a long time ago. I guess this was me too at one time. How sad I am for myself.

Mexico?
As Bluto mentioned the Mexican doctors have performed thousands of surgeries compared to the hundreds that many doctors in the states have performed. They are top notch and definitely go the extra mile. For instance many doctors do not do 3 leak tests; those in Mexico do.

Post-Op Diet. I am 6 days out and I am starving. What can I eat?
you will be weak and tired, as your body is adjusting to the low calorie intake and is using your fat stores for energy. For some it takes weeks for them to get their energy back, just be patient and enjoy the ride!

Post-Op Diet. I am 6 days out and I am starving. What can I eat?
First of all you are not "starving", people in third world countries are starving. It sounds like you need a PPI it is probably stomach acid. Try taking one and see what happens. You can also ask your surgeon for suggestions when you see him. If you are still supposed to be on clear liquids, stay there, I had a week of clear liquids until I went to full liquids.

Blood sugar spikes with Miralax?
To answer you yes it can increase your blood sugar levels.
-
Can we have rice?
The answer is no, you are only three weeks out you should be on pureed stage. Do you not have a food plan to follow or a NUT to consult?
