My precious premier protein drinks :(

Recommended Posts

I think I have to stop them for a few days. :(. I think my tummy doesn't like them yet. They do feel heavier and that doesn't bother me so much but sleevy just grumbles and rumbles and tries a temper tantrum. :(

Or maybe I'll do only one a day (I don't even drink the whole thing) and see if that makes it better. Sigh, I'm not sure what to do.

I love my drinks and I like feeling like I actually ate something. Woe is me

Edit to add: I'm 1 week out today, started them on day 5. Had permission to start them day 4.

The chicken broth powders? utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury does NOT tickle my fancy and the unflavored, I add a TINY amt to my G2. I don't need to go getting weak. I has stuffs to do.

I love them too but sometimes they have that effect on me too. I have one a day now where I would do two to three a day pre op. My NUT use to say I was on the liquid diet way before I needed to be but I love premier! am 14 weeks post op. now and stick to one in the am because more mean tummy trouble. I have found drinking them slow helps a bit so I tend to have a long Breakfast with one.

Yesterday I did do a premier and Danon Light Greek Yogurt strawberry flavor in the blender. I was not going to be home for the am snack so was trying to get it in because I sometimes come in to low on calories. My Doc wants 1100-1200 I struggle to stay above 800 because I eat low carb/low fat and high Protein healthy that type of food fills the sleeve and you do not want as much. So any way that was like a chocolate strawberry milkshake and was delicious. I wanted every drop but couldn't quite finish it. Delicious!

I'm 10 days out and I have 2 a day. Yea, I get a bit of grumbling... but it goes down and stays down ok. I simply try to drink those a bit slower.

I'll drink one slower today.

Do you guys know if nuking the chocolate for 30 seconds could "kill" the Protein? I like my warm chocolate. :D

Hi Amy

I just bought premier Protein too. But I'm going have to stop or maybe take one per day. im having the same problem. So I ordered unjury chicken flavored Protein to go in my Soups. And I will get some more Isopure . My new sleeve tolerated the Isopure. I didn't expect the reaction to premier. Its too sweet tasting too for me, In my opinion.

Before surgery I tolerated them.

Best of Luck

My sleeve did not like them until 4 weeks out. Now no rumbling or heavy feeling. Give it a few weeks.

Try adding skim milk or coffee to thin them.

I have been having one every morning, today it didn't want to go down. I did half and the waited about 30 minutes and finished. It was gagging me every time I swallowed. I was wondering if something changes from my last box to this one.

No coffee, how about milk or soy mik which both are high in Protein.< /p>

I developed this problem at about three weeks out too Amy. No reason for it specifically... they go down fine and stay but "temper tantrum" is right. I could not handle it. I've got to find a solution for the problem too because I cannot simply eat enough protien in the day. I hope it resolves for you soon!

I started drinking Premier Protein 2 weeks post surgery. I still have a hard time sucking one down. They are the best tasting I've had, and the smaller size is great, but, it feels heavy sometimes.

I'm about 12 weeks out, and I drink one every day for Breakfast. I didn't find them till I was about 3 weeks out, and it was the only type I could stand. Tried lots of other stuff, and just couldn't tolerate it. Everything was SO sweet tasting. I will say that hus subsided now, and mostly everything tastes "right" now.

Those shakes are good and economical, so I do hope you can tolerate them again!

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.
