  1. There is no way that I would have been able to eat 1000 calories at a month out. I am 6.5 months and jut now probably eat closer to 900-1000 healthy calories. I think you need to stick to the lower calories in the beginning, that is how you will lose your weight and get to your goal and make the most of the first 6 months. I ate 600-700 during my weight loss phase and also stuck to low carb.
  2. FYI you have to put frozen fruit in the yonanas, you can't put in yogurt or protein powder. You can use berries or melons but I think anything mixed with bananas is the best
  3. Can you tell us what store you bought it in? I would like to try some too!
  4. The sleeve won't fail.....................you will fail the sleeve. It is a big committment but also very rewarding, much more than the band for me ever was. I reached my goal weight in 6 months less a day. If you are truly ready for it; jump in and don't look back because it will be the best decision you will ever make.
  5. You say you haven't been taking your insulin meds since September when you had your surgery. Was this doctor approved? There are many slim diabetics out there, losing weight does not guarantee that you will lose your diabetes, so sorry
  6. The reason why you can't have them is that they are very hard on your stomach and can cause ulcers which would be very detremental to us. Our stomach is now so small and produces less stomach acid to break up the medication; hence resulting in an ulcer. I asked my surgeon about an anti-inflammatory(prednisone) and he said don't take it more than 5 days. I wouldn't want to risk something happening to my stomach.
  7. You are consuming such little food that I wouldn't worry about fat in your mayo: I never have and had no issues. Use full fat mayo, maybe some spicy mustard.
  8. I wouldn't say anything unless asked, it really is none of their business.
  9. Why are you so worried about the pre-op diet? It is two shakes a day and a normal meat/salad dinner. If you can't stick to this for 3 days how will you be able to handle the sleeve diet? Just asking
  10. eating too much too fast eating anything because it doesn't matter I am sure these two things have contributed to your demise.
  11. Cheers to you!! You deserve the weight loss and all that life has to offer!! I wish you the best!!
  12. I suggest you be careful with all of these filler foods. If you are eating your protein and veggie in that order you shouldn't have any room left for crackers, bread or pasta. Are you just testing yourself? Why do you need to try these foods? It is a slippery slope of eating; remember that you need to change your eating habits for good. There will come a time when you can eat more of those foods and by the sounds of it you probably will. Stay away from them, you don't need them and neither does your new stomach.
  13. You will do fantastic!! Prayers go out to you today. See you on the losers bench!!
  14. Imitation crab meat is very high in carbohydrates and low in protein. It would be better to have the real thing or any other fish.
  15. why are you even asking us then? Follow your doctors orders to a "T". Are you looking for permission from strangers. Put on those big girl pants and suck it up, follow your program, you will not die if you are on full liquids(which is probably your next stage). This surgery is a big committment, so commit.
  16. vitamin E oil and cream
  17. What does your eating plan say? How many days out are you? What kind of protein are you speaking about?
  18. How big is the tofu slice? What is a spoon? Teaspoon, tablespoon or ladle? At six months I probably eat a little more Protein say 2-3 ounces and a 1/4 cup veggies. As others have said some days I can eat more than others, but not much.
  19. Well I think that it is a sad state in our society but I can now agree that thin people are treated differently than fat. Now that I am thin, people are way nicer to me and I get alot more attention in general everywhere I go. When I was fat people wouldn't give me the time of day. Now it is nice to get compliments from co-workers; though it doesn't mean that you have to be friends with them. Be choosy as to you find really is interested in you whether fat or thin.
  20. R.I.P. Fred I thank God everyday that I was given this opportunity to be a healthier person and live longer. I will now thank him to continue to give me life so that I can continue this journey.
  21. Funny I did have someone say, "What are you on the no food diet"? I took it to mean that they thought I was not eating or eating enough. I know that I look great so am not too worried.
  22. Wow you look great! I have the same stats as you; went from a size 18 to an 8. Just bought a pair of size 8 skinny jeans today, wonderful!!
  23. This is the whole point of the surgery; to have a small stomach. No one in the beginning is consuming alot of calories. I could easily get in 70-80 grams of protein with 600-700 calories.
  24. Oh boy take it as a grain of salt. I wouldn't worry you will lose some muscle but I believe mostly fat. Enjoy this rapid weight loss, you deserve it!!!
