Clothes Suck
Justine the 13th is almost here! Hang in there my friend. I can dress down at work and I look like a bum. When I was a 22W I gave all my dress clothes away when I got to down to a 16-18. Now I am like a 20-22W and have no dress clothes to wear. I told myself I am not redoing my whole wardrobe again with 22w...I have nice suits and dresses and I can't wait to get into them. In the mean time I am lucky that I can dress down or else I would be up sh*ts creek. Plus there is no where to shop in Colombia that sells plus size clothes except for "Gorditas con Estilo." My English to Spanish translation is "Fatty's with Style." I laugh everytime I walk past that store. Fat people don't have a chance in Latin America!!

Is The Band That Bad?
Thank you for your replies. I guess my ignorant assumption with the band was you have it for a few years, learn how to eat and then get it removed. I had no idea that you could keep it for up to 10 years. I guess why I ditched the idea was the thought of a foreign object in my body. My friends aunts have had bypass so I assume she doesn't want to do something so "drastic." If that makes sense. I think they are all last ditched efforts, but I just hope she does all her research. She didn't seem to know to much about it. Thanks again.

Ladies What Is Your Type?
Yeah, I really love my shape, I hope to keep it on a smaller scale. I was probably more an hourglass and then I had a breast reduction. So it will be interesting to see what happens.

Is The Band That Bad?
So, a few years back I had a fleeting thought about getting the band. But it passed quickly. So did not research it the way I have the sleeve. However, I have a friend that is thinking about the band. I told her I wasn't quite sure about it and that I had read some negative things about it. I was wondering if you could give me the fast and dirty info re: lapband the pros and cons. My friend is still trying to decide if this something she wants to do.

Hi! I'm New.
Welcome Lisa. I started my process in mid-July as well. It is quite interesting. Good luck with your sleep study. What will happen if they do diagnose you with sleep apnea?

Ladies What Is Your Type?
Just wondering what is your current body type? For those sleeved did your body type change (pear to apple, apple to hourglass)? How tall are you and what is your goal weight? Did you set it or did your doctor recommend it? I am a pear - pre-surgery I am 5'5, my initial goal weight was 160lbs. I recently changed it to 150lbs. I think seeing I need to lose more than 100lbs scared me. However, after I did my bone density exam I realized I am not big boned. I hope that after surgery, I still am a pear or an hourglass.

Time To Get Real Here
Thanks for sharing. I am sure it takes alot to admit what you have been doing wrong especially on these boards when sometimes people can be a bit judgemental. I wish you continued success on your journey.

Pre-Op Nutrition Appt....hide The Scale!
So I had my pre-op nutrition appointment this evening. I really like the nutritionist and it was a plus because she spoke good English. Our convo went into Spanish several times, but I really like talking about all this health stuff in English. She took my height, weight, and measurements. It is confirmed I am shorter than I originally thought! 165 cm equals 5'5 ....Wow. I thought I was more like 5'6. So we talked about my history, she looked at my labs and told me how great and healthy they look. Again, confirmed I am healthy fat. If such a thing. HA! Anyway we talked about a variety of subjects. She did give me homework: No Sugar No Flour after 4 PM Practice eating slower (I told her I am a fast eater) No Calorie Counting and she told my husband to HIDE THE SCALE!!! Can I just tell you that I am a daily weigher, but after being on the boards for the last few weeks, I do believe it will be a great habit to break prior to surgery. My husband told the nutritionist he loves her for life.

Uggh ! The Nerve Of Some Ppl !
I never expect someone that has been thin all their life to understand. It is a shame that she was "faking" her supportiveness to then turn around and TRY to call you out in front of someone else. I always say, when people show you who they are the first time believe them.
