  1. I'm 10 months out and still start my day with a protein shake.. Yes they still taste like crap. Finally found the strawberry at walmart that doesnt just gross me out with the sweetness of it. Glad you are doing so well. Keep up the great work!!!
  2. Welcome to the boards Lissa. Glad you are here
  3. I love MFP. I record everything... good, bad, ugly everyday. I have it synced with endomondo so my exercise automatically records in MFP. It is by far the best app.
  4. wow girl that is great! Im still in the overweight range at 28.6 but compared to being in the 50's for BMI when I started... feel great. You look awesome
  5. Hi Fred. Welcome to the boards. Glad your here. You have made the best decision of your life!!
  6. How awful!! Praying for your speedy recovery
  7. Ahem.... 154 lbs... Lol! Thanks for the spotlight!
  8. Great picture. Congrats!!
  9. Probably gonna make some enemies here but why would you go through a surgery like gastric bypass and eat carbs and drink alcohol and try to go back to the way things used to be. It is driving me crazy. I'm successful because I follow the plan. You will not hear me whine about stalls in weight loss... It's part of the plan. But really ladies and gents the surgery is a tool to be used and not abused. We have all been overweight for awhile and know what makes us fat. Why do we insist on trying to go back to old ways!
  10. There is a high rate of developing substance abuse after rny if you partake in alcohol. Plus high in calories and in my opinion just not worth it.
  11. I'm so glad you both quit... What a great thing!!! I watched my dad die from lung cancer and it was a horrible thing. I'm sure had he known what cigarettes were doing to him he would have quit. Kudos guys!!!
  12. Good luck and let us know how you are doing
  13. Most protein shots do not have the right kind if protein that can be absorbed by rny patients. Be very careful.
  14. Dave.. So eloquent as usual... Good to see you back on the boards!!!
  15. Find something you love or kinda like and make yourself do it...when you hit stalls... And you will... Even during the honeymoon period ....you are going to want to be exercising to get through it!!
  16. Mostly because it acts as a dieretic and we need to stay hydrated... You ate far enough out I really think you would be ok
  17. I used to hate going out for that very reason!! Woohoo!!
  18. Best wishes for you and your brother to have a speedy recovery
  19. Hey... Welcome to the boards... Wealth of information here!!
  20. Lisa... Well said!!! Why even try something again if it will lead us down the same path. Life changes !!!
