Abscess

Surgery was October 25th and I wasn't doing great but I was doing alright until last week when I almost died. I had three abscesses under my one suture that were huge. My surgeon did not notice during my follow up visits! Now I had to endure two emergency surgeries and am hooked up to a wound vac with at home nurse care coming every other day. I am wondering if anyone else has gone thru this complication and can offer some light at the end of the tunnel. Weight loss seems secondary to surviving at this point.

Hope bariatrics in sewickley pa. It's a risk we all take for the surgery. During the healing process fatty tissue got caught in the suture on the inside or so I was told and cause an infection.

Omg im sorry to hear that, were there symptoms or did you just wake up one day in pain? I also had surgery on 10/3..... Im praying for you....

How awful!! Praying for your speedy recovery

Praying for you! What an ordeal to go through.

this pain is quite normal. most everyone gets this in the same location. it is the muscle healing where they put the biggest instrument in your abdomen

All of a sudden like that though? Right after i got up off the floor? I was doing way better for like 4days and than all the sudden it hurts. Im just scared i did something to something lol. Cause its pretty bad pain.

mine actually hit me at 4 weeks post op. I thought I was going to he a lucky one that didn't get the left sided pain. HAHA!! I was fooled

Yup. Pretty normal. Mine hit at about a week postop and lasted a good week and a half. Incredible pain on left side up under edge of ribcage.

I would get it checked. Mine had a big bump to go with the pain but it can't hurt to get it checked. I waited and nearly had very serious side effects. As it was I spent a week in the hospital. Better safe than sorry. What can it hurt for them to check it?

Haven't experience it but I hope everything turns out great. Speedy recovery.
