  1. Thanks. U will. I didn't think I would either. Follow the plan and it ll happen.
  2. I'd call the nutritionist but I have heard of people for back to all liquids for a week to jump start loss.
  3. I am 11 months out and would like to share my before and after pic and my journey so far pic. Please share your before and afters as well.
  4. Thanks guys. Always good to hear positive things!
  5. SW 289 CW 185 GW 150 Surgery date was 10/25/12
  6. Thanks ladies! Best part is not having to worry about size related things like will I fit in that seat or booth or do I meet the weight requirement for the water slide?! Now I can just live
  7. Slept in a double bed with my hubby and didn't feel like I was gonna fall out!
  8. Yes that happened to me. Take some pepto! It will go away. It's probably extreme gas pains.
  9. Yes! But now 8 months out I feel great. Hang in there, it does get better. The combination of nausea, pain, hunger, tiredness, and stress is enough to drive a person over the edge but it is going to get better. Somewhere around 6 months you will begin to feel a new normal. The first month is the worst I assure you.
  10. SW 289 CW 185 I still drink wine!
  11. I guess I probably get asked this more because I have had so many complications.
  12. I get asked this question all the time. Yesterday I went to the endocrinologist and the medical assistant weighed me and I weighed 195. She looked at my chart and noticed I ve lost a considerable amount and asked me if the surgery was worth it. I try and be polite and I know people are just curious but sigh I get asked this question from my mom to the mail man. Everyone who knows wants to know if it was worth it. Truth is my journey isn't over with I don't know yet, it's only been 6 months. So what do you guys say? Are you asked this too?

I just downloaded I love it by icona pop to add to my list but if ur more of a country gal than u may like raise hell by Brandi carlile
  14. Did my first 5k before I ever had surgery at 289lbs. Walked the whole thing and came in dead last but I did it with my best friend who had won it the year before but he walked it with me instead. This year we are planning on doing the Run for your lives zombie 5k but as zombies, lol. Also the run or dye which is similar to the color race. It wasn't a weird thing coming in last, I was proud of myself for even trying. So for these next two I am keeping the same attitude.
  15. Time to do the happy dance!!
  16. Ok so I am at the point where I feel ok joining a gym. But I am confused which one I should join. My choices are, YMCA, curves, dinardo fitness, or LA fitness. Any thoughts on any of these? Likes? Dislikes? Good or bad experiences?
  17. The therapist I had my screening with before surgery warned me that since I was going to change, every relationship I had would change, That this surgery impacts your life on a very large scale. So you two are probably just working out the kinks until your relationship changes and evolves with the new you. It only been 6 months and I ve lost a friend or two but this change was the best thing for me health wise. I am sure things will work out when you are healthier and can do more and you see the full benefits of the surgery.
  18. Starting size was a 22/24. Current size is a 14. Dream size is a 6. Realistic goal is a 10.
  19. U know I was shopping for shorts the other day and I m starting to have some loose skin on my thighs and at first I was kinda upset. Then I thought to myself I have never worn mid thigh length shorts. So I can still wear the capris and knee length shorts I was wearing and look a hell of a lot better in them. I know it's hard but try and focus on the good.
  20. Isn't it funny how we don't consider a 3 pound loss to be very much until we see a reminder. I go to the grocery store and hold three pounds of lunch mean or look at the hams and realize that was on my body and now it's gone, no small feat!!!
  21. I don't want to alarm u guys but I felt nauseous everyday for 4 months. It did eventually go away but it was seriously all day long everyday and no pills helped. Believe it or not skim milk seemed to help a little tiny bit but for the most part I just suffered. My surgeon said that some people are just nauseous and it can last up to a year. Good luck to u.
  22. Going to Disney in July!!! So excited to be walking around and not feel worn out after a couple hours. I was so nervous about the Harry potter ride cause I have heard its a squeeze but yesterday I fit into a 14 in the dressing room. I was like what?!?!?! Watch out Harry potter I am probably going to ride u 100 times and scream hell yes every time the harness clicks! Some of my nsv have been furniture shopping at ikea and not being worried I was going to break the chairs, not feeling out of place when I go shopping with my skinny friends, and purchasing a pair of shorts for the first time in forever. I can't wait to run into an x or two in my small town!
  23. I buy them from my surgeons office, I ll look at the brand when I get home. I'm really not sure about the flat tummy lol but I think it may be the amount of Water I drink. Lots and lots of water.
