  10. Ok so gastric bypass I have learned is like religion or politics everyone has there own opinion and yes there are people that have failed and yes there are people who get sick. If you follow the protocol that your doctor and nutritionist have set out for you , you will be fine. My daughter took a nutrition class also this semester and her prof. Told her she needed to have higher carbs... I mean really wth!!! I'm sure you did extensive research before surgery and know you made the right decision. Don't let someone who hasn't probably done half the research you have make you second guess your decision. Hugs!!
  11. It wasn't really until my 3rd week post op I started concentrating on my protein... What you guys need to worry about right now is staying hydrated.. There are some horror stories on this board of those who did not stay hydrated and ended up back in the hospital. Good luck!!

  14. Well on your way... Woohoo!!!!
  15. I was told malt O meal, how about some of the creamy soups.. If u like bean and ham soup it's got pretty protein and felt good on my tummy at that stage.
  16. What kind of pain is it?? It shouldn't be that horrible. You might want to call your doctor
  17. I haven't tried oatmeal... Probably because I didn't think it had enough protein. Sorry that you got sick
  18. When you first have surgery you won't get that full sensation right away because the nerve endings in your stomach are still healing... Then like mami said you will a pressure letting you know when to stop. Some have not ever felt full so it is important when you first start eating food To measure. I personally have not had the hungry feeling in 9 months but pretty much know I have to eat to survive and not lose my hair.. Lol. Hope that helps!
  19. That would be a good way to start. Also eliminate as many carbs as you can because after surgery you will want to save all ro available for protein
  20. More then likely it is... Take small bites and chew the hell out of it til almost liquified... I had to always add like salad dressing to moisten up meat to even get it wet enough to go down.
  21. More then likely... Chew little bites till its almost liquid also add something wet to it to make it moist
