I had my surgery the day after you. I found it easier if I stand or at least sit up very straight, than I have less pressure when drinking.

My surgeon said four weeks out if incisions are healed:)

The Marriott is great. Went to the restaurant with my husband so he could finally have a good meal, and the served me my free broth there:)

I was just sleeved yesterday by Dr. Garcia and what a wonderful experience. The facility is very clean, and they provide a private room with an extra bed for your companion. The nurses go above and beyond as far as making you comfortable and seeing to nausea meds or pain meds. There have been no language problems at all. Dr. Garcia took a long time explaining the procedure to us, and today he came by to tell me about everything that he told my husband. Also to let me know about going to the Marriott tomorrow and all the meds and paperwork they will give me for my doctor at home. Now I would not hesitate to recommend Dr Garcia and his staff to anyone:)

I'm in Mexico and brought my own. I had one when I came back from surgery, just wondering if I can use them before the leak test?

How soon after surgery can you use them?

I'm in Mexico and today is my day also. Shuttle to hospital at 9:30am and I've been up and waiting since 5am. Thirsty and excited! Good luck to all new sleeves today, my prayers are with everyone:)

I am having my surgery tomorrow with Dr Garcia. If you go to Ready4AChange.com and request info, Alma will call you and answer all your questions. She is fantastic and also responds very quickly to my emails. After your deposit they will send specific diet instructions and general information. I also like the fact that they use the Marriott:)

I think maybe you need to cut your calories?

ANOTHER July 18TH-Er here!! My bag is packed..flying to San Diego in the morning. The nerves and anxiety have hit. I just can't wait to start this journey! Definitely want to keep in touch. Smiles and prayers to all the 18th-ers!

The limit is 3 ounces for a liquid. You do need to place your liquid bag on top through security along with your laptop. They will have you turn on your laptop just to make sure it is a laptop. After they give the ok to turn on electronics devices on the plane you can use your laptop:). You will also have to remove your shoes, so make sure especially on the way home you don't want to have to lace anything. I'm leaving tomorrow and just doing a carry-on for my husband and myself.

Fantastic... What a feeling to not be in the plus section anymore...hope my day comes soon.

My surgery is on the 18th......I feel your excitement. My prayers for your mom, and hopefully with your new sleeved self, your marriage will also make a come back!

For a lot of people going to Mexico for surger they fly a few days after. I'll be flying four days after my surgery. Did he give a reason?

I hear your pain.i am on the end of my second week. I had total caffeine withdrawal headaches for 5 days.
