  1. Oops didnt see it was only 4 days! I haven't been sleeved yet. Hydration and healing, vitamins if possible for sure.
  2. I ate baby food during a previous weight loss attempt. It's true, the meats are low volume, high protein. I liked the little meat sticks (10gm protein), very mushy once you bite into them.the meats are tiny jars 2.5oz 8 gm protein. Add the unflavored protien powder and a little Water to make it more slidey, and you have about 15 g protein in 4 oz.
  3. So happy for you!
  4. Fed BCBS here. In the process told 3 nut visits...not 90 days.I will be done with those first week of sept. i have my PMD letter of medical necessity, had my psych visit. The psych visit, nut visits and the letter from my primary MD cover all the other required info. Thats all that they are requiring. The surgeon requires an ekg, labs and upper GI endoscopy. All done.
  5. Had my endoscopy about 2 weeks ago. It was a breeze. Friendly staff, full explanations, wheeled into a little room. iV monitor bp cuff...good night. Woke up, woozy for about 10 minutes, fine then out, felt great. Unfortunately I was biopsied positive H Pylori gastritis (imagine my surprise, I had no idea). Just finished 2 weeks antibiotics and prevacid, wait 2 weeks for an H Pylori breath test, and hope it's cleared. Once thats clear, i have 2 more nut visits and then have my ppw submitted to insurance. Keeping my fingers crossed. That said, endoscopy is a breeze. Everything else is work.

I just read on another thread how sesame seeds in their crab salad could cause an abcess. I was just wondering about seeds in general

    Pickle seeds aren't a problem?
  8. I love my caffeine free diet Pepsi. i know I will have to quit all together, regardless. I love not only the taste but the way the carbonation feels in my mouth. I have picked up a can that was out a little too long and end up spitting it out because it's flat. I know I will suffer the withdrawls, but being healthy is worth the price.
  9. Peace Queen: with all you have been through and the kindness I have seen you imparted in all of your posts, you didn't deserve that comment. You are beautiful inside and out, and don't orget that.
  10. Omg i hate my iphone typos. I work from home. I have 9 kids. I. Think youll figure out the rest
  11. Amd I work for hos wife LOL. I plan to tell no one, except my husband, pme of my 9 kids, my 19 year old daughter and my best friend. I work feom he and go into team meetings monthly. I want to see their jaws drop when they see my weightloss month to month. All I plan to say is i diet and exercise. I told my boss i was having gall bladder problems to set up the surgery. I already had my GB out, so it womt haunt me later on.
  12. Good luck Peace Queen! You'll be back to 100% in no time!
  13. So how did you soda addicts shake the addiction? Did you curtail or stop before surgery, or simply lose the taste for it after surgery? This is my opportunity to change the way I eat, think about food and entertain a healthier lifestyle. i certainly have no intention in undoing this opportunity by slipping back into old habits by eating cake or drinking soda. I am the first to admit, as an RN for 33 years (my weight issue for the last 15 of them) that I don't practice what I preach, and realize the do as I say, not as I do tactic is getting harder to convince patients. Luckily, I have a good rapport with my Vets (i work for the VA doing home care on disable and infirmed vets)
  14. Diet caffeine free pepsi addict here. I can down a 12 pack in a day and a half. My husband joked that he should have invested in pepsi, we would be rich on me alone. It's going to be hard to give it up, once I am sleeved, but I plan to. It is not healthy, at all. Given the fact i am having my stomache reduced to 15% of it's size, go through the dangers of major surgery and the sacrifice afterward, i am no stupid enough to ruin it by stretching my sleeve with worthless carbonation. To each his own, but no need to be venomous when people give advice. That's what this Vertical Sleeve Talk is all about...learning from eachother, and supporting eachother. I hate to say, some lawyers make the lawyer jokes actual reality.
  15. Wow! You are an inspiration. Congatulations!
  16. Increase your viatmin c. At least an extra gram a day. Help healing and immune system.
