  1. Thanks everyone for all the kind and thoughtful responses from the heart. I am better now. Got through my daughters morningmelt down. dH cooked his wonderful weekend Breakfast, one of my last for a while. My bff is here for the weekend giving wonderful support.breathe in breathe out. With the love of my family and support of my friends here and on line, I will get through this...one day at a time. God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change; courage to change the things I can; and wisdom to know the difference. God BlessUs All
  2. Today I woke up crying. So many things weighing on my mind. This week coming, my insurance will be submitted and hopefully approved. My excitement and inpatience has turned into fear and doubt. What if I get any of the horrible complications i read about. What if i get all of them. What if I die. I have 9 kids and a grand baby. I have 4 still at home that depend on me. They are all adopted and need special care. My 10 year old has significNt emotional issues that requires constant supervision. I adore my DH , but he wont be a le to carry this load. Last might my son, who is visiting from abroad and staying at my mom's house, called me last night. Seems she has had signs of a heart attach since Thursday and refuses to go to the hospital. I cant convince her just to have an ekg, just to be on the safe side. Mind you, my mom can be hystrionic and attention seeking, but this is beyond ignoring. So here i sit, on my bed, DH sound asleep at my side, crying my eyes out. Should I ditch the whole thing and focus on my family. What will happen if I dont make it.
  3. Ouch! Can you even take colchicine post sleeve? I'm certain Indocin is out of the question. Keep forcing fluids to wash those chrystals out!
  4. I do not wear my weight well, at all
  5. Days until my paperwork is submitted to insurance. I meet the criteria, I just hope they don't yank my chain. Not soon enough. Today I had some pictures taken with my bff and DH in Indian headderesses. i asked to do close up, but regardless, my arms have cellulite, double chins my DH wanted to post on FB and I started crying. I am so disgusted with myself.
  6. Good you went to the doc first. Maybe nerve pain?
  7. Coughing is good!! Clear your lungs and drink plenty of fluids. Congratulations!
  8. shakes high in sucralose or sugar acids can cause terrible gas and diarrhea. I know Atkins does that to me, the bars and shakes. Everyone is different, but this may be a culprit.
  9. So happy for you!!! There is hope for the rest of us waiting too!!
  10. Likely gaining muscle mass. Shrinking fat gaining muscle. Muscle has less volume at the same weight as fat. Maybe retaining Water?
  11. Definitely increased fluids help flush out the infection. Vitamin c to acidify your urine as well as any prescription you were given. I have seen many post sleevers had a urinary catheter post op. whenever a catheter is introduced, there is always a posibility of infection. NOT ALWAYS, but occassionally. Feel better, UTIs can be miserable.
  12. I always thought of the term slider food to be things like ice cream, shakes, puddings,chips...things that breakdown and empty out from the stomach quickly, leaving room for more and more. Obviously, because the sleeve is not a malabsorptive procedure, all those calories will be absorbed. Sliders=poor food choice. That's what I have gleened trolling the threads, but I am no expert!
  13. Did you ask the insurance company what they consider "comorbidities"? My insurance only accepts hypertension, diabetes, high cholesterol, heart disese, sleep apnea. They don't consider asthma, arthritis or a lot of the other lovely problems caused by obesity
  14. Welcome! I am not yet sleeved, hoping for early oct. you should trim down beautifully, you are very compact. I wish I could wear a 14-16. I am 5'7" and 235. I wear a 20-22
  15. I read the link, thanks butterbean. I was particularly interested in the fat calorie shock. Having been successful om the original high fat atlins diet for 2 years, i believe this is definitely a Way to shake up your metabolism and fat burning. Imho.
  16. Deep breathe and cough at least twice an hour to prevent pneumonia ( more ommon after general anesthesia). Fluids, antibiotics. Call agin if ou are worse or fever gets worse.
  17. There are so many different responses to this question. In the end it's all about your comfort level. Tell who you feel comfortable with, and the rest, maybe after surgery, you feel differntly and tell them at that point. I would suggest tell at least one preson closest to you. I have told my DH, my best friend and one of my kids, my 19 year old daughter. My mother is judgemental and opinionated, my father does what ever my mom tells him to do, and my kids wouldnt understand why. I work from home, go into my office monthly, so telling co workers isn't even necessary.

That is my plan as well. Baby stage 2 pureed meats with some seasoning. 8-10g of protein in each 2 1/2 oz jar' date=' baby meat sticks melt in your mouth are 11 grams a jar. Pureed veggies with seasoning. its just for a week (for me anyway) so I should survive just fine until... Scrambled egg stage!!
  19. You can still get sludge in the biliary ducts.' date=' could be something entirely different. Just saying.
  20. No idea who this surgeon is. I lived across the Rio Grande from Juarez a few years ago...scarey place. Wild West scarey, drug cartells, murders. If you have never been, please check it out first.
  21. I hope your surgeon's dad is OK
