Ginger tea is amazing for that.

Post Op Diet
I was told carbs were ok if I kept it to 30 grams or less a day. Many of the Lean Cuisines are higher in carbs than you would think. I would just read the lables.

For Real?
At first you will lose a lot of water. That's normal and then it levels off. Any time you cut out carbs and sodium, your weight will drop quickly for a little while and then adjust accordingly.

When Can I Start Lifting Weights And Working Out?
My doctor cleared me to start lifting/training as comfortable at my 4 week post op. He said you can lift a VW bug, if it doesn't hurt. If something hurts, wait a week and try again. I was cleared for cardo at my 10 day post op.

Protein Question-5 Days Post-Op
I finally tried Premier Protein drinks from Costco and find them easy to get down. They are 30 grams each.

Protein Question-5 Days Post-Op
I wasn't allowed to start protein supplements until day 7. Every plan is different, but my focus week 1 was supposed to be on fluids. Then day 3 was full liquids, day 7 was adding protein supplements.

Dating Again...eek!
Time to start dating again. I've been asked out a few times recently and have been too self conscious to say yes, even though apparently the guys didn't mind the fact that I needed to lose 70 lbs. So, from here on out I'm saying yes to dates! Heaven help me...I could be a total disaster lol! Welcome to my new and improved life.

Dizziness!
Dehydration, lack of calories and protein, and all of the changes your body is going through. Be ire to drink a protein shake before doing that again and tank up on fluids. It helped me! That feels horrible!

One Month Down...
I'm in the same boat but no raw veggies or red meat for 2 more months at least. New foods are hard on me right now. Sticking with what I know and relying a lot on my protein drinks.

Preop Diet Or Not?
It depends on the surgeon and your weight. I am a lower BMI and my surgeon required a 2 week preop diet to shrink the liver. Every surgeon is different.

Staples Out!
Internal staples stay in forever. The incision stitches came out for me at my 1 week postop.

So Annoyed
I lost 12 lbs the first week and weighed 220. Then I gained 3 back and held that weight for 2.5 weeks! My surgeon warned me that I would likely stall for a couple weeks while my body recovers from the shock of surgery. I'm now 4 weeks post op and losing again steadily. So yes, what you're going through is normal. Stay hydrated and get your protein in! I still lost a lot of inches while stalled, going from size 18 to a loose 16.

Week 5
Hang in there. It DOES get better.

The 1St Day I Ate Food For All 3 Meals!
Sounds like it all went well! I'm just starting to eat too but my plan has me wait 3 months for red meat...pot roast sounds so delish! Glad you're doing great!

Vitamins
Calcium Citrate is the type of calcium we are supposed to have. The other types don't absorb quickly enough for sleevers.

Feeling Frustrated And Depressed
Hang in there! I was told to expect an average of 1-3 lbs a week with the sleeve. You're exactly there!!

Some Questions!
Weight and strength training protects your weight loss. My entire family had this surgery. The ones who didn't work out with weights didn't lose as much weight because they didn't have enough muscle mass to continue to burn weight. The dr couldn't stress enough that weight and resistance training was far more critical than cardio in the long run.

Want Sushi
Every surgeon is different, but I had seared ahi today and I'm week 3. It went down well. No rice though The rice is probably why they want you to wait.

Any Advice About How To Keep From Being Nervous Before Surgery
My surgeon uses dye to do a leak test before you wake up. It was so nice! You should ask about that option.

Sleeping On Your Tummy
I slept on my side day 1. My tummy was day 5.

Seared Ahi
I'm 3 weeks post op and had to meet a friend for late lunch at BJ's Brewery. I researched the menu ahead of time and ordered the seared ahi off of the small bites menu. It was about 2-3 oz of seared ahi. Chewed it to purée and it went down so nicely! Left the raw veggie salad since it's off limits until 3 months out. Delish!
