  1. It's because it pushes things out f our stomach too fast. Doesn't allow the stomach to properly digest the food. If food is pushed through our system too fast it makes it easier for us to feel hungry.
  2. U can mix sugar free torani syrup with ricotta cheese. Would taste like a cheesecake to me
  3. I was sleeved oct 2. Here are my experiences The bowel movement department - even the night of surgery and the following 3-4 days..straight black colored diarrhea. Almost looked like fat Yesterday and today I had a "normal" bowel movement. So about 10 days post op As for the itching - my incisions were itching as well. Surgeon said to put some vitamin e lotion on them. Also said its ok to wet them rather than itch them. I have removed all my dressings. I am using heparin shots to prevent blood clots. Tomorrow will be day 10 of 10. The first few days I had trouble getting down my liquids Etc. I have no issue now (except that I forget...or I don't feel thirsty). My typical day Greek yogurt protein shake - 21gm protein 400mls Muscle milk - 20gm protein and 355mls Pure protein shake - 21gms protein 355mls 1 liter of water (sometimes with crystal light or mio) This gives me about 2 liters of fluid as well as 62gms of protein. I am dying to eat something but seeing the weight drop daily is motivating. For the Greek yogurt protein shake take 1/2 cup of fat free Greek yogurt, 1 cup skim milk and add a few drops of mio or a little bit crystal light powder. Put in a blender cup ..shake and enjoy! Tastes just like a Danon or those yogurt shakes u buy in store
  4. I love muscle milk! I haven't tried the powder, just the RTD from Walmart. It's delish! Does not take like a protein drink. More like one of this vanilla flavored candy bar drinks (I don't know who makes them..but they come in flavors like mars, caramilk).
  5. That's great thanks! I do have been finding it difficult to find a powder that I like. Been drinking pure protein and muscle milk rtd but that's getting expensive. Will defo try this
  6. Welcome to the other side everyone. It's tough at first but it gets easier i promise! I had my surgery last Tuesday and I go for my 1 week pre op today. Sipping on my muscle milk as we speak, things look and feel good!
  7. I had mine done here in Canada on Oct 2. Lost 20lbs on my pre op liquid diet and about 12lbs since surgery. Hope ur journey goes well:)
  8. I am Indian but I live in Canada. Where are u having ur procedure done?
  9. I jut got on the scale this morning and had to step on it again to make sure it was right! 248!!! I haven't been in the 240's for 4 years! That means a 12 loss since surgery last Tuesday and 32lb loss total since the beginning of my pre op diet! Hope it's all smooth sailing like this:) keep up the good work my octosleevers!
  10. I woke up at 430 this morning with those exact pans. Felt like hungerx100000. I figured it was aci and sucked on a Prevacid tablet. Seemed to help it for about 2 hours. But then It started again. I figured the Prevacid helped only for 2 hours because its supposed to be taken 30 mins before food. Maybe it needed food to work. Ate some sf pudding and it's gone away. Hope u start to feel better! Tomorrow I will be a week post op:)
  11. That's so exciting! I wear a 2xl in scrubs but recently ordered a size large pre op in anticipation that they will fit in a few months. I figure even if my body levels out at a medium then at least my scrubs will be a little loose..just how I like them
  12. U went from an 18/20 to a 12 in just over a month? That's insane! These posts are so inspiring, especially since I am just 6 days post op. I also started at a 18 and bought a size 10 dress for next spring. At this rate I will probably fit Into a lot earlier than then! plz share ur secrets people!
  13. Hey everyone! Sorry I have been MIA on this topic. Almost a week out now and have been taking some time to heal. Just wanted to let all my fellow oct sleevers know that u are always in my thoughts! Good luck, happy sleeving and happy healing! I am so proud of each and every one of us for getting through the past few months on restricted diets, those who have gone through barbaric liquid diets, those u went under the knife and those who are now healing one day at a time. U are all stars and I am warming up some seats on the losers bench for each of u. Love u all xoxo
  14. People sometimes don't know what to say or are scared of saying anything. My family has always been the first to notice the moment I gained even a pound. They could even point out where that pound was! So far I am down 26 pounds and not a lot of people are noticing. But I ran into a co worker at the store the other day and she said to me "have u been losing weigh"? I told her yes and her answer was "I noticed the other day at work when u came into the staff room but I didn't want to say anything because I didn't want to put u on the spot". People will notice. Some may say something, others may not know what to say. some may deliberately not say anything because they dont want u to take it the wrong way and sabotage urself (ie think that ur losing too much and start gaining). I was 280 and even when I lost 10lbs on the pre op people could notice.
  15. And this post op diet has me so confused! My written orders say clear fluids for a week then modified fluids for a week then full fluids for a week. But day 2 post op after my leak test I was given a thick cream of mushroom soup, yogurt...so I don't know what I'm doing. I have a follow up appointment with my surgeon on Wednesday. Hopefully I can clear this up
  16. I thought I was the only one! I was starting to think that the doctors just "pretended" to Operate on me to see if my weight loss would e due to some sort of placebo effect! I was told that because at first we are on liquids, our stomach will hold more because liquids pass easier. Once we are on purée or solids I think it will be a whole different story!!!
  17. I was 260 the morning I left home for surgery. Came back on oct 4 weighing 265. Today, oct 7 I weigh 255. So that's 10lbs down in 4 days. It will come off eventually:)
  18. I feel that pain. Almost like a twisting feeling..or like a pulling like I've stretched too much
  19. Sleeved October 2. Started at 280 lbs after the liquid diet I was 260 but a hospital scale read 258 and this morning I was 255! 25 lb loss since pre op and 5 lb in less than a week, ill take that! I agree it has been getting easier, although I have my period right now and it's hard to tell if the pain is still from the surgery or from the period. I went to Walmart yesterday and picked up a few things. Took me an hour and let me tell u it was exhausting! But the walking outside did me good. I slept well. Able to sleep side to side.more my right side than my left because my biggest incision is on my left
