  2. Wow! In just 6 weeks? That's great! I also started at a size 18. Do u mind telling me ur weight and height? Sorry I'm on my phone and can't see ur profile. Looking for inspiration as I'm 4 days post op
  3. Google "the world according to eggface". She is a gastric bypass patient out 2 years (I believe) and has some amazing recipes. I saw some for cake there today! Also google "flourless cake" and see what u find
  4. If u put it in a glass (or clear bowl) and can see through it, it's clear. All of the above mentioned are clear. No protein shakes. Add mio to ur water or crystal light. Low sodium broth, sf jello sf Popsicles. My list also said nothing with red or orange coloring...not sure if urs does or not
  5. Hey sleeve sisters!! The 2nd night in hospital when I was dry heaving I began to cry. I think that was my moment of regret. It's been 4 days post op now and I do really believe every day gets better. Taking is one day, one sip, one pound at a time. Just want this "healing" phase to be over so I can move on with planning my life
  6. The moment I have been dreading has arrived! 4 days post op and Aunt Flo decides to visit. The nausea and cramps are so bad. I can't figure out if they are from the period or post op. I just hope this passes soon! It's thanksgiving here on Monday in Canada and I can't decide if I will be ok enough to socialize with a group of 30+people :-/
  7. 443 am here. Been in an out of sleep all night. Woke up at 1am and had the biggest urge to Pee. I hated the thought of getting out of bed because of the soreness etc. I contemplated wetting the bed...but ended up going to the bathroom. Tummy is rumbling now but I didn't need a gravol to help me sleep last night. Hopefully every day is better than the last! I take Prevacid in the morning
  8. I am. If I was on my pre op I probably would have cheated. But knowing that I haven't fully healed I just made up a recipe page on my laptop and keep adding recipes. Cant wait until week 7 when I can have soft foods!! Even purée foods..
  9. How is everyone doing? I'm having a lot of trouble getting my fluid and protein in. So far only 300 MLs of apple juice and eating a sugar free Popsicle right now. Maybe ill have some chicken broth tonight...
  10. This may be tmi but I had 2 bms so far, one yesterday eve and one this morning. About a cup each time of black liquid. Anyone else?
  11. Hey everyone! Just started this thread for the post op octosleevers of 2012. I had my surgery yesterday and all is well. Gas pain is terrible but I've been walking around. Full fluid dinner tonight. Sippin on my oh, cream soup and pudding. They saline locked my IV, catheter is out and I love walking around. Nausea and pain are so far under control. I'm giving myself 3 hours to finish this meal
  12. Good morning all! Happy sleeve day to all my oct 3 sleevers. In just a few short hours u will be post op and joining us on the losers bench. Day 1 post op for me and I'm feeling good
  13. Work it girl! U look amazing
  14. Hello everyone, just checking in from my hospital bed. Surgery went really really well! I'm so glad I did this. I went in at 1130. A few mins before I had a good cry but the nurses and doctors talked me through it. Went into the OR and my surgeon said "just relax and have a good sleep". They had trouble finding a vein for IV but they found one. Then they put a mask on with oxygen and soon the medicine. When I woke up around 3 in the recovery room all I remember saying is "I'm gonna puke I'm gonna puke". But the amazing nurses were on top of my nausea and pain. To be honest, the nausea was a bigger concern for me than the pain. Pain is very minimal. I would say 3/10. I have 8 incisions. Have been in an out of sleep but its good. My parents, brothers and boyfriend came in as soon as the surgeon called them and visited for a bit. Got up for my first walk at 8 which was nice. Incisions bled as I was getting up but again, the nurse was on top of it. I hope the next few days/weeks are as easy as this. Hope all of the other octosleevers an oct 2 sleevers had an experience as smooth as mine

  17. Thank u everyone! And thanks again Marcy. Hard to believe that there is someone else in this small town of ours going through the same thing in just a few weeks. Will keep everyone posted
  18. I was on the liquid for 4 weeks but I did have some "cheats" here and there nothing bad..like a piece of chicken breast or taco beef no carbs or anything. I was on 3-4 glucerna or diabetic boost shakes a day and lots of water. I indulged in low sodium chicken broth when I was sick of the sweet stuff
  19. I'm getting sleeved today! Check in at 930 and op is at 1130. So many mixed emotions right now. I keep telling myself: the will of god will never take you where the grace of god can't protect you. Say a little prayer for me everyone
  20. It's 530 am here and I've been up and down all night. Nerves have really kicked into high gear. I will be thinking and praying for everyone getting sleeved today and I pray for myself after admission. See u all on the other side
