  1. Ifein no worries, positive thinking! Try not to get yourself all stressed out. It was so much easier than I thought. The only think to worry about is having a good surgeon and being mentally prepared for the positive changes you are about to experience. You will do great
  2. Sorry you went through so much. You will feel so much better with the sleeve. I had a rough few years as well. Banded June 2012 fractured wrist 2013 had surgery then weeks later had band removal due to slippage. Nov 2014 had sleeve. 4 surgeries! I am doing well just slow losing.
  3. Cherish wow your wt loss is amazing. Good for you! Donna try to not get too nervous I did, but honestly it was such an easy experience. Nothing compared to carrying around excess wt. I am 60 and had lapband surgery in 2012 big mistake! It slipped resulting in another surgery to remove the band and then a year later the VSG 11/10/2014. Total of 3 surgeries but the sleeve was the easiest! Only sick day one after that I could hardly tell I had surgery. My wt loss has been slow but I hear this is common when you are a revision from band to sleeve combined with my age. Anyway I am losing not gaining which would be happening if I didn't have the surgery. We can't compare ourselves with people who are much younger they seem to lose much faster. This website is great because we surround ourselves with friends who have the same goals and many of the same issues with food. It's helpful to see you are not alone. It's encourage me to get out and walk, make better choices etc. best wishes to you you will do great. I lost 11 lbs on preop and 15 lbs post op but lots of inches. I haven't weight this weight in many, many years! I have 30-35 lbs to goal????. It only going to get better for you. It's hard work and takes being organized and dedicated but it's so worth it. Take time now while you are waiting for surgery to read all you can. Make meal plans, read labels. I started using egg whites, 1 egg and add some egg whites rather then 2 eggs, chicken sausage that's low in fat. Eating low carbs seems to be the trick at our age. I can't have a lot of carbs if I want to lose. Start making changes now. No grazing. Eat 3 meals and 2 Snacks. Cut the sugar. cheese sticks are good for snacks and easy to throw in your purse if you are heading out the door. You will Rock this!
  4. Yes it was very easy for me. Just vomiting day one then I felt great. No pain just discomfort. No pain meds after first day. I did stay 2 days only because my doctor hadn't discharged me. I was ready to go home the next day. I love not having the band. It was uncomfortable for me then it slipped and I wasn't successful with it. The sleeve has been great but my weight loss is slow
  5. My BMI was 31 day of surgery its 29 now 8 wks post op

Ditto I had surgery 11/10/14 only sick one day. Very little pain. My recovery was great and the sleeve is so much better than the band in many ways. I know how you're feeling I was afraid as well and almost backed out but good friends encouraged me to proceed. I couldn't do it on my own. I am doing great and look forward to meeting my goal this year and you can too!

    November 19th!

Nov10th here. You are all doing great. I was a revision from band. My loss is much slower. I am down 22 lbs since pre-op 11 lbs since surgery. I have 35 to go. I wish it was faster but I continue the journey. Great things to look forward to this year!
  9. @@lapbandcandy I also had the band in 2012. I lost some weight then I stopped losing and eventually the band slipped. I was always looking for a bathroom. I hated the feeling. I had the sleeve in Nov. A huge difference I can eat and I don't feel that awful frothy feeling at all. I am a slow loser but slow and steady I hope. I feeling great the surgery wasn't bad. I feel so much better.

    ANY ORANGE COUNTY CA, SLEEVERS

Hi there Orange County CA VSGs. Where do you live? Let's pick a meeting place. I am in Yorba Linda near the 91 freeway.
  12. I had surgery on 11/10/14 and I've only lost 9 lbs. but hay it's better than gaining, which would normally be happening this time of year. I was discouraged as well when I read other lost 25-30 lbs. oh well I am older and possible have less to lose. I can't fixate on it, I need to follow the program and I am told the weight will come off. I have lost a lot of inches down a few sizes already. Hang in there we can't get too discourage we need to stay positive.
  13. You are so fortunate they are below the navel and have faded so nicely. Mine are above the navel and all visible above my pants.
  14. Metamucil fiber clear and natural is great it's tasteless so you can add it to anything.
