  1. I told very few people in the begining I didn't want to here the negative didn't need that for a good recovery. I got some many negative comments after I had my daughter that I didn't want to deal with any of those people and there comments. People say stupid things and I hate the people who say just excersice and diet but yet they need to loss weight too. The people I have told have been so supportive of my decision and with each month after surgery I tell more and more people. The stronger I get with dealing with all this the better I can handle any negative comments.
  2. My first time out after surgery I was worn out it will get better. Hope things are going good. Good Luck
  3. I try to have mine in the evening, that way I can control m calories and keep them low before bed. I am generally more active during the day so I find eatting during the day is better than at night when I tend to sit more. My weight loss seems better doing it that way.
  4. That's why I didn't tell people not to mention generally the ones who are given that advise are the ones who need to get control of there own weight. I dont' think one small piece of candy is terrible now everyday that is different. LOL My surgeon said that is the point of the band vs other surgies is that you don't have to stop living that you still can enjoy an occasional treat just don't over do it.
  5. I have lapband with plication. I had it because I was undecided between the sleeve and lapband and this was a way to get both without the removal of my stomact. They fold the stomact and stich it to make it about 50% smaller so the weight loss is more than what you would get with just the lapband alone. My husband and I both had it ad neither of us have experienced bandaster hell our weight loss has been continues. Not as fast as the sleeve. Had my surgery on May 29th have lost 32lbs and gone from a size 28 to a size 22. For us it was the best decison we could make.
  6. I think it is very similar to any addiction. This for most of us is an addicton even if we don't admit it. I have decided to only go out with friends who support my choice for the surgery and who I know will try to order healthy when out with me as well then I know they are my real friends who care about my health. But I also don't go out to eat as much as I did before the band because of all the extra calories.
  7. Congrats, Today I went shopping for new shorts have been putting this off till the last minute before our vacation. Not smart because apparently July is the end of summer. LOL So selections were limited but on sale. So first I went and got shorts at Target and got into a size 24, then tonight I went to Lane Bryant and was hope to get some jean shorts but all they had was one pair of size 22 I thought well let me take a chance and see if they fit. To my suprise I got them up, buttoned and zipped. I was SHOCKED, before my surgery on May 29th my LB jeans were size 28 so excited about the drop in size.
  8. I had my first period after surgery was normal and then the next one last longer and was heavy. Not sure if this was due to the surgery or just my body adjusting to the weight loss. I think it is normal to have bad periods after the surgery but I don't think you should expect it to stay that way. If it goes on to long I would talk to your OB/GYN about it to make sure something else isn't going on.
  9. my GP was onboard his wife had the sleeve so he was very up on all the surgeries which was great. I don't know that I would want to continue to go to a doctor who would not be supportive of my decision.
  10. I had discomfort; had a a really bad yeast infection from the antibotics after surgery. So once that cleared up my PH balance was off for several weeks afterwards, something I had never experinced before.
  11. For me it has stoppped me from being hungry, for the first month a few times I would forget to eat. I start my day with larger meals and by about 3 in the afternoon I have no desire to eat so I generall drink a protein shake and am satisfied. I have the band with plication so that might be way I feel less hungry. I am so glad I went with that and not just the band
  12. Each person is different. we were advised not to eat sushi because of the rice but there are some great ideas online of how to make the rice without using rice. Have not tried them myself but plan to. I have had fried oysters I know fried is bad but had not problem eatting them.
  13. That's funny I did the same thing the other night sitting next to my husband and got so excited. He laughed at me, I guess for a man crossing there legs is not the same. LOL Congrats!
  14. i had mine last week, my doc said 24-48 hours but I ended up having to do 5 days for my body. I got really bad stomact pains the one night I tried to eat. Good luck my weight loss started back up after the fill forsure.
  15. I love the special k crackers...
  16. I had band with plication in may and we were told not to eat bread at all even small bites. Is this just another example of how different each doctors rules are, I have noticed some people do it bread with the band.
  17. I painted my own toe nails, it was the best feeling in the world. I have not done my own toes in years.
  18. I know during my last period I felt horrible everytime after I had something to eat. Talked to my doctor and he suggested during that time of the month to do liquid and soft foods to see if that would help. It stoped once my period was over. Hope it gets better
  19. ok thought something was werid this week, glad to know this might be just due to my period will have to watch it after my period.
  20. I was told by the doctor not to drink it because of the pain. But I did take a drink from my daughters and it didn't hurt if I really feel like I need a drink I order her a small take a few sips and that seems to take care of the want for it.
  21. I only told a few people before I was approved that I was thinking about it. My mom and husband. Once approved I told my best friend and my dad, brother & SIL. Now that it is done I have told a few more people but not people who I know will watch what I eat and who would have negative things to say. I only want people who want to help me not hurt me.
  22. I had one when I had a c-section with my daughter, it was actually very nice wouldn't of minded wearing one with the surgery.
  23. Boobs, I have already told my hubby to start saving unless they don't look bad after the weight loss but I will be shocked if they don't.
  24. Sounds yummy, might have to try this with fish instead of chicken. Have tons of fish it was buy one get two free at the grocery store. So we are stocked up on it.
  25. I am just starting out had my iband done May 29th. I know that there are times I pass different fast food places and want to stop but have to keep driving. Or I try to go to ones that I know will have something I can order. Grilled chicken.. And I really want a burger it is hard. I think it is hard not to slip we still have those same wants we had before. Also agree that it saves money big time. Since our surgery (my hubby had it too) we have had extra money for shopping even with our grocery bill going up now that we are buying health foods. without the fast food.
